Baymont by Wyndham Spearfish

Construction going on to hopefully improve this location, no mention of it when booking. Pool is permanently closed, again no mention of it. Mold in bathroom. Not what I expected for this kind of money, Super 8 was much better and way less cost. On vaca for 7 night and this was the worst and most expensive place we stayed and all were Wyndham properties. Poor so called breakfast too.

I cannot in good faith give this hotel even one star. I have never stayed in a hotel that was so dirty and uncomfortable. The room across the hall had red evidence tape on the door handle. The air didn’t work in our room and it was 90 degrees all night. The room had a foul odor that even an open window didn’t take help. There were three large spots of gum stuck to the dirty carpet. The lamp shades were ripped with some of it missing. The bed skirt was torn and the sheets were stained. The dresser/television stand had plywood for the door and the side tables drawers fell right out. There was no microwave or refrigerator and the television didn’t work. Even the back of the remote was missing so the batteries had to be held in when trying to get the television to work. My husband is 6’2 and had to practically kneel to get under the shower head. We called the front room to ask if there was another room available and told no and they would not offer any type of refund.

This is a "family" run place with the whole family working here. I don't know how they keep the Wyndham name. They say on their website they have a pool and spa. It is permanently closed. They also say they are pet friendly. That is not true. They say they have fridges and microwaves. They don't. They do not make up the rooms for longer stays. You get no fresh towels, no new coffee pods, nothing. And, their keys quit working after one night and you have to repeatedly visit their inept desk help (family). I found their LLC on the South Dakota Secretary of State website and it is just as I suspected and what has happened around the country as these older places are purchased. They don't keep them up and just basically rent out rooms.

This is the first hotel I’ve stayed in that had no bathroom mirror. After my first night, I mentioned it and they said they would put one in there. They didn’t. It was very inconvenient. I asked That the manager call me about it and maybe apply a discount. I never did receive a call, that was disappointing. Otherwise, the rooms were clean and comfortable.

Rude staff no pool or hot tub. No breakfast food available. Had to find staff to check in. Pillows were flat

Advertised a pool and hot tub , when we arrived we were advised they both were permanently closed. No compensation was offered other than we could cancel with no fee. Frustrated.

We just stayed this last weekend. I will say that the room was clean. However, the walls are paper thin and we could here our neighbors. They advertise coffee pot etc in the roon but we had to go to the front desk and ask for a coffee pot and coffee. There was nothing to set the luggae on so we set it on the extra bed. The Wifi was questionable, the TV/remote didn't work well, the refrigerator had a loud constant tick so we had to unplug it. Therefore, it wasn't usable. The second morning we went to have breakfast and in looking through the cream cheese container for plain cream cheese, the first one was so old that it was completely dry and rattled. The 2nd one we found had been opened and was dry. We finally found some that we could use. There wasn't anyone at the front desk when we checked out so I could not pass along my concerns or get a receipt. I'm sure that we will not stay here again unless it is our only option. Please pass this along to the local management in Spearfish.

We flew the family in over Easter weekend to visit my parents and stayed at this hotel using our Wyndham rewards points. We liked this hotel as the rooms were spacious, clean, we were able to get a connecting room, and breakfast was included. This was our first time ever staying at any Baymont and we will definitely try this brand again in our travels

During our trip to the black hills we had a few extra days and decided to go to Spearfish Canyon. This was a good place to spend the night. It was simple, clean, and quiet. It was affordable and they offered free breakfast which helped us save a little more for our vacation. All in all we were really only there long enough to sleep and would say this is a decent place to spend a night
