Speedway Legacy Inn

Decent place to stay The Speedway legacy Inn was a nice place to stay. The pros: cleanliness, quiet, and most comfy bed I’ve ever slept in. The cons: I was expecting breakfast and all there was, was cereal and muffins for food. The reviews had said “home cooked breakfast”. I would stay again because I did receive fast response when I had concerns regarding the room (Tv remote, refrigerator). I would recommend the property owners invest in mini fridges for the rooms as well. That would have been super nice as I was trying to spend as little as possible on my business trip but ended up spending a lot of money on food.

Meh Check in and check out was easy. Bed was comfy. The toilet wouldn’t stop running, and it was hot water so when I used it in the middle of the night, the entire seat and lid were all sweaty. No washcloths with towels? Found that odd. Not a great place, but not bad either.

I stayed here for 7 days (March 26-April 2nd 2014) and have told many of my friends that IF they're ever in the area-especially my racing community friends-to give Julayne a call (the owner). The Speedway Legacy Inn is a beautiful; a mystical Plantation style home with many added treasures. It wasn't until the 5th day of 7 that I noticed the coy fish swimming in the little pond with statue situated at one end. There's also a gazebo in the front yard to sit under and take it all in, on those rainy days. The room I stayed in was 'right up my ally' with that shabby-chic /vintage feel. Cute handmade quilts and TONS of storage area with 3 cute dressers and a nice-sized closet. I stayed on the second floor and had a peaceful nights sleep every night. The thing I liked most was that it fit my budget and she allows guests to bring there own food and drink. Although as a bonus, there was coffee and muffins available in mornings usually. I also like that you don't get bothered by the Inn keeper or staff..they're in the office 90% of the time and you don't see them often…unless you need to. If so, I'd feel welcome to knock on the office door. She even let me print out an important document and fax something during one of my last minute, forgetfulness occasions. Anyway-YES, I would recommend the Speedway Legacy Inn & Suites. It's also very close to the most prestigious race track in all of the USA- the Indianapolis Motor Speedway!

This place in NOT as described. It is REALLY old, which would be awesome if it was renovated. The floors squeak SO BAD. Every single step we took was so squeaky. I understand an occasional squeak, but this was very loud squeaks. The room looked nice when we entered, but once you took a step......there was no way to avoid the squeaks. I couldn't figure out the TV, so I text the person at the # I had, and no one ever responded. The bathroom was not a place I would want to shower. The beds were squeaky as well. The morning we left we went to where the "breakfast bar" is and there was only a couple items there. The house had lots of guests, so I'm guessing the first couple people who got there first would get it. We went out for breakfast instead. I did email the person who emailed me about checking out and told them there was NO breakfast for the guests. Not sure if they came and replenished it or not. We never did find the bottles of water they said was in the fridge. We actually never found the fridge. I would not recommend this place, but someone else might like it. And I am NOT a picky person at all.

Had a few things we disappointed with. The blinds in bathroom and bedroom we felt did not give the appropriate privacy. We had a Jacuzzis in our bathroom, my daughter played vollyball tournament all day and was looking forwarded to relaxation in tub. Not enough hot water to turn on jets. Very disappointing. The fridge did not work but freezer did so we just put all our foid in freezer. Disappointing as well. Great location and safe area.
