La Bastiglia

The views from this hotel are amazing but everything else was a disappointment. We had upgraded to a deluxe room which was actually very basic. A bare room without bedside lamps or even a bedside table. It smelt very strongly of bleach - fortunately we were able to open the door to the terrace to air the room. The bathroom was in need of attention. Toilet flush about to drop off the wall, washbasin wouldn’t drain and excess wiring left in the light fittings. In our opinion this is not a 4 star hotel.

This hotel is built on several levels on one of the highest points of Spello and within the town walls. That means a lot of stairs/steep climbs to get to hotel and within the property itself, so be careful if you have mobility concerns. I don't believe there is an elevator if you need one. The Staff at the front desk are not very attentive or engaging, but everything else about this hotel is very good. The rooms are large, clean and very well equipped. The breakfast staff are great; they work hard to keep the plentiful offerings stocked and the area tidy.

Beautiful location with the most lovely terrace with spectacular views, perfect for sitting with an Aperol Spritz. Yes, the room we had shared a terrace but no one was either side of us so not a problem. The room was very clean and a very comfortable bed. There is a little fridge but you need to hunt under the tv or you might miss it. We arrived too late to enjoy the pool and were leaving the next day. Great breakfast, lots of very fresh salad. The coffee machine at breakfast was initially a bit disappointing but the coffee was quite good. Really good location with a beautiful stroll into the town.

We have just spent a wonderful ten days at La Bastiglia and we’re looked after so kindly by the great team of young workers - Arianna, Chiara, Eri, Daniel, Mattia and one other whose name I lost - for whom nothing was too much trouble. Every morning and evening we were welcomed by their smiling faces and they helped to make our stay very special. We hope to return in the future.

A malincuore devo ribadire per la seconda volta che il titolare ha in mano una Ferrari ma guida come se avesse una 500!!! Siamo tornati io e mio marito per la seconda volta in questo meraviglioso posto ma purtroppo è stata un’altra delusione. Niente da dire al personale gentile e disponibile, anche se un hotel con 4 stelle dovrebbe avere una divisa! Sorvolando su questa cosa, speravo di trovare questa volta una colazione degna 4 stelle!! Con prodotti tipici, torte fresche, pan cake, ciambellone, uova, pancetta ecc…. Questo signore che dice di essere il titolare una colazione VERA in un Hotel SERIO non credo l’abbia mai fatta. Visto che propone crostate confezionate tagliata a pezzi e messi una sopra l’altro, cornetti scontati surgelati, pezzi di torte non fresche, succhi di coloranti! Ho letto che in alcuni commenti il titolare ha nominato Barbieri, be’ una visitina dovrebbe farla alla sua struttura, come per magia scompariranno 2 stelle!! Dovrebbe prendere tutte queste critiche in modo costruttivo, così da poter migliorare sempre di più, anziché rispondere in modo scorbutico a gente che le ha portato soldi! Poi carissimo titolare forse nessuno le ha mai detto che e’ buona educazione rispondere ai clienti che la salutano mentre stanno andando via. Barbieri la rimanderebbe alle elementari!!! Dimenticavo… un cartellino “non disturbare” da mettere in camera può anche stamparlo lei a costo zero!! Anziché dire ai clienti non li abbiamo!!! Tutto da rivedere!! La terza volta cambio strada!!!!

Pessimo in tutto...dal personale al cibo..alla pulizia. L unica cosa positiva è la posizione. Siamo stati malissimo e soprattutto troppo caro per quello che offre...gli do una sola stella perché memo non si può. ....per il resto spello è un amore..
