Terrible customer service! After a day hiking in Zion, my key card didn’t work; not a big deal. However, after trying to solve the technological problem, the hotel folks ended up having to drill out the entire lock mechanism, leaving a big hole in the door. This took 3 hours, and for the first two hours, the woman in charge refused to give me a new room. She was snippy and condescending, and I had to wait in the heat, missing a lecture and dinner. Finally, after two hours, she gave me a new room. I understand things break. My issue is being treated rudely and not being able to get a room as soon as it was clear that the original room was unusable. A much less important issue is the terrible breakfast … prefab eggs, stale cereal. Fortunately there was yogurt. This was a very unpleasant experience and I suggest visitors to Zion stay elsewhere!
