New Jacquline Heritage Houseboats

The experience on the houseboat New Jaquline was unparalleld! The boat is clean, beautiful carved wood, carpets, views and the food was great! We spent 3 days on the boat. Our hosts are a family who have maintained the business for generations. They helped us in every aspect of our stay in Srinagar from where to eat to trips to local sights of interest. The beauty of Lake Nigeen is spectacular and the best way to experience it is on this houseboat. It is serene and we were so happy to have the peace and beauty after 2 weeks touring India- this was nirvana! The most lasting impression we have is of the family that runs this houseboat. They were warm and welcoming and very concerned with our comfort. We had two meals a day on the boat and they were very accommodating in asking for our preferences and needs. Since I have travelled the world and am an American with high standards I feel confident in recommending The New Jaquline as a must experience when visiting Kashmir! We actually may return to visit the natural beauty of Kashmir but only if we can visit with Maqmood,Sami and Ahmed.

This is my first time for Kashmir. New Jaqueline houseboat is the best thing in this trip. The houseboat makes me feel relax and so peaceful. The food was great. Nigeen Lake is more beautiful than Dal Lake, quieter with fewer houseboats all of the same color and more elegant. This one is truly beautiful, very well maintained and with top-notch equipment including a large Jacuzzi in the best room on the upper level. The room is very spacious with a beautiful terrace overlooking the lake, the view is exceptional with lake and mountains. The common areas are very well furnished in the local style and the cleanliness is absolutely impeccable. Excellent breakfast and dinner: obviously we chose only Kashmiri cuisine which is delicious, the kitchen area is large, well-kept and extremely clean with chefs in uniform. The service is impeccable and attentive to every need of the guests, Majeed is priceless as is all the staff! It's absolutely worth the half board, breakfast and dinner, bottled water is free as is the excellent tea with saffron and Kashmiri spices, the Kawa, with plenty of excellent cookies whenever you feel the need. Bananas in the room are always available. Mohammed Macsood, the owner, is a kind and helpful person who makes you feel at home. We met his beautiful family and became friends. The products offered in his showroom are interesting and of quality, quite different from those that can be found in the markets.

During our recent trip to Kashmir, we had the pleasure of staying at the majestic New Jacquline Heritage Houseboats overlooking the stunning Nigeen Lake. From the moment we arrived, the serene beauty of the surroundings captivated us, and the warm hospitality made us feel at home. Accommodation: The room was cozy, well-maintained, and tastefully decorated with local Kashmiri handicrafts. It had a spacious balcony where we spent hours enjoying the panoramic views. The bed was extremely comfortable, and all the amenities we could need were provided, from heating to free Wi-Fi, making it the perfect balance of luxury and comfort Service: The staff at the houseboat went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. They were attentive, courteous, and always available to assist with any request. Whether it was helping us arrange for some warm milk for our kid or recommending a local craftsman to showcase his treasure trove, their local knowledge made our trip smoother and more enjoyable. We left with beautiful memories and will definitely return for another stay! Highly recommended!

Amazing stay at this boat house. Not crowded far from other crowded boat house places. Evening and morning sunrise are bliss. You got to taste home style cooked delicious food. Muneer took care of our personal vegetarian needs, cooked varieties of vegetarian options for us. Cozy rooms , living and balcony is just awesome. Excellent houseboat and stunning view. Caretaker Muneer is very calm, friendly and shows great hospitality. The lake was quite and peaceful. Room exceptionally clean. Food very delicious. We took the top room and the view is worth the additional money.

I booked this houseboat after reading a touching review from a previous guest, Sue. I was a solo female traveler from the United States, and I stayed here for one night and absolutely loved the houseboat. It is luxury on water. The bedroom and entire boat is filled with traditionally intricate hand carved wooden furniture and hand-stitched textiles. The view from my bedroom and from around the houseboat was so scenic. The service provided by the staff was excellent— they were very attentive and made me feel like family; Munir was the star of the ship. I felt completely safe and was well looked after. I booked both breakfast and dinner. Both were amazing and offered a good variety of traditional dishes which were all delicious. I later met the owner, Maqsood, and his family and they were all very nice. I highly recommend this houseboat and will definitely be returning.
