"Very nice location, didn't know their kitchen would consist of a microwave and a fridge, met nice people, staff was mostly helpful and nice, there was ac in the showers that made the curtains move a lot, my bed was broken and they said they wouldn't be able to move me anywhere else, but there were still so many free beds."

PPassporttoPalateThis was my second stay at this hostel and it's still amazing. One of the best hostels I have stayed at in Europe. It is well located - right off the Mayor Plaza. Close to bus routes and not too far from the subway.
The hostel staff are super friendly and always available - 24hr front desk. They are hapy to have a chat with you and make recommendations and give advice - or just sing along to whatever is playing from the bar. They weresuper gracious and helped to arrange my friends and I in the same room - even though we all had individual bookings.
The rooftop is excellent. We spent several siesta's up there; reading and chatting and having a drink. Just note that the rooftop bar is a public space and at times sections of it are booked for events. But otherwise the view of the rooftops and the church dome are worth it.
The rooms are spacious enough, as is the private bathroom. There are additional bathrooms on each floor - gendered. The bunk ladders are a little steep on the steps - my shorter friend struggled getting up to her bunk - we had to use the foot stool to assist. But the ability to have two people using the bathroom in the room at a time made for easy use - especially with only 6 people in our dorm.
The free margarita making each night from 9pm and the bar crawl are worth checking out. My friend also also did the walking tour - and said she found it super informative and. chill. Lots of food recommendations and the group all grabbed lunch together after the tour.

I asked for a quiet room but I was on the ground floor so I could could hear the neighbors next door and above my head, but by midnight they were quiet. Idid not eat the food so I cannot comment. Convenient for one night and the 001 bus to Atocha very close.

The staff are friendly
I like the public area on the ground floor, if there could be more charging place would be nice.
However, only 2 bathroom for 12 people is not enough. One of the bathroom only have cold water and the sink is outside the toilet.
I think it is a fair option for such a price in the city, still there is an improvement.
If you are a solo traveller that need a short stay, it is an acceptable choice.

GGästanvändareThis was a converted apartment, with private bedrooms and shared bathroom and kitchen facilities. The place was impressively clean throughout our stay, with cleaners coming through each morning. You are also provided a key to lock the bedroom door so we didn't have any concerns about security. Wifi also worked fine and there was mobile reception (this must've been fixed from older reviews).
Having access to a kitchen made it easy to have breakfast in and you are allocated a shelf in the communal fridge. The other guests were very respectful, which helped create a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. That said, it’s worth noting this is not a party-style stay — it works best if everyone is mindful that it’s a shared environment as noise does travel through the hallway.
The bedroom itself was large and spacious, with plenty of wardrobe space.
Location-wise, it’s slightly outside the very centre — not right in the middle of the action — but still very accessible. We were about a 20-minute walk to Plaza Mayor and ended up walking most places, and there’s also a metro station less than 5 minutes away if needed.
Overall, a great option if you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, and well-connected place to stay in Madrid, especially if you don’t mind being just outside the busiest areas.

FFanYangA Pleasant Stay with Warm Hospitality
It’s always a pleasant stay at this hotel. Although it's a budget hotel, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. I especially want to highlight the young lady who assisted me during check-in—she was so kind and welcoming. She provided me with all the necessary information about breakfast locations, nearby laundry services, and more. That was very helpful and much appreciated.
The hotel's location is also very strategic. There are plenty of eateries nearby, and it’s close to both the bus and train stations. The room itself was simple but clean. Everyone at the hotel is polite and friendly, which made my stay even more enjoyable.
If I could suggest a few areas for improvement, they would be:
1. Provide a kettle in the room – Hot water for drinking is important for me, and having a kettle would be very convenient.
2. Install proper blackout curtains – This would help guests sleep better by blocking out excess light.
3. Offer laundry services – Having an in-house laundry option would be useful, especially for longer stays.
Other than these suggestions, everything else was perfect. Overall, I’m very satisfied with my stay and truly appreciate the warm hospitality shown by all the staff. Thank you!

GGästanvändareThe room was impecable. Though I would like to have a little rack on the shower to place my shampoo and conditioner bottles. The bed was comfortable but I wish they had individual pillows instead of just one long noodle-like pillow. The window blinds were extremely hard to scroll up. Regarding the automatic check-in, I had to call the hostel number for them to give me the reservation number which I did not know. It took me a while to complete the check-in. They should also let the visitors know that they have to walk upstairs so light luggage is recommended here.

CChuan Qi NgThe staff is nice and friendly, beds are clean and comfortable. They provide blankets and pillow only, bring your own towels and sandals, and locks if you want to lock your locker. The community fridge is a nice touch but my breakfast got stolen, so put stuff there at your own risk.There are some weird men who loiters in the dining/waiting area at around 7am when I went to get my breakfast, they might be the culprit😤
The location is perfect!! It's 10 minutes of walking distance from the train station, which is gteat because I arrive pretty late and need to leave quite early.

GGästanvändareLugar bien ubicado, buena habitación, en condiciones el lugar es muy bueno, lo negativo es la atención del personal, pasamos días antes de llegar tratando de comunicarnos con el alojamiento y no respondieron hasta el día de nuestra llegada, se le consultó si podíamos dejar las maletas hasta la hora de entrada y nos respondieron que no había problema y no fue así, al llegar nos respondieron por intercomunicador y de mala manera que hasta la hora de entrada no se recibían, que no había nadie para atender y cerraron la comunicación así sin mas. A la hora de entrada llegamos al hostal y tuvimos que esperar mas porque no había nadie allí. En resumen es un buen lugar con mala atención.
