"Great location, great atmosphere, great staff and great breakfast! I was able to relax on my bunker without other bunk mates bothering me, and breakfast had a variety of fresh veggie options.
The only concern I had was that the plugs inside the bunks did not really work for my Type C to A plug converter, and it kept falling out multiple times. I was able to charge and use the plug in the common areas, so it wasn’t that grave of a problem."

"Excellent..Fantastic..everything perfect, the facilities , the food, and the wonderful and genuinely helpful staff.
Staffed around the clock , with refreshments available at any time , and very welcoming on returning at night.
Classified as Hostel but in my opinion it’s a beautiful different type of hotel., catering for teenagers or retirees, without over elaborating.
Location perfect, less than 5 mins from Metro , 10 mins bars and restaurants..everything else within easy reach eg tour buses etc…
Truly great advert for the hospitality and friendliness of Budapest.
Thank you so much for a most enjoyable stay, and especially over Christmas period, ( when a lessor level of service could be excusable."

"Good experience staying here. Comfortable bed and room. Gratefully, each bed in the dorm has a cover and a large locker, so you’ll have both privacy and security. The shower room is nice with stable hot water. The only downside is that there’s no AC in the room, so the window needs to be kept open. Since the room is next to the public area where people smoke and chat until midnight, the smell goes into the room (even though it’s a non-smoking room) and the noise can disturb your sleep.
The kitchen has a few refrigerators and two ovens. The only drawback is that there’s no stove, so you can only use the oven to warm up your food. There is an elevator that allows you to access each floor, so you don’t need to carry your luggage up the stairs
Overall, a good stay at an affordable price."

"Terrace is awesome, staff friendly. Vacak the cat is awesome too. This hostel is a great option to spend some time on the island, had a good night sleep and it was clean. Often though staff can be missing from the reception during the stated reception hours, and nearby is more of a party scene with few quality dining options. The 400ft Costa coffee capsules aren't exactly good either, so there is some space for improvement compared to some of the newer hostels in town."

"Didn’t expect this quality at this price.
Super clean and comfy bed (despite many beds per room) as well as shower room. Location-wise, it really is impeccable to my needs: there’s a major bus station RIGHT after you step out of the hostel; and across the street there’s a very good coffee place called Kultura, which served Asian standard balanced flat white.
On a side note, this place also helped me keep the Budapest Card mailed to this address (without me informing them, coz I forgot), which was incredibly lovely."

"Room was simple, but reflects the price and location appropriately. It was suitable enough for us after the day of sightseeing in Budapest. It is easy to hear nearly everything through the door, so you will need to be a little lucky not to have a bunch of students as your neighbors if you want to have a good nights sleep. "Cons: Not so great initially - strong smell on the room, noise on the street but sorted out quickly. Thanks to prompt action by the management. In most of my stay, floor on the shared bathroom is always wet and no proper ventilation. Lockers are outside the bedrooms so it’s worth having a spare bag for some essential items that you need to keep next to you. Duvet slightly short for tall person. My roommate’s bed was creaking loudly even with simple movement.
Pros: Near bus stop and metro station. Near to the popular thermal bath - Széchenyi, and tourist spots Heroes’ Square. Accommodating reception.
Things to improve: Proper ventilation and floor rug in the bathroom. Long duvet, cleaner bedsheets and duvet cover and pillow.
Overall: If you stay most of the time outside and it’s okay. Main gate always open, occupants got a key for main door but most of time it’s also open. I guess for the price, you get what you paid for."

The room, lobby and kitchen are super clean and tidy. The hotel staffs are welcoming.
The location is perfect, where you can find a supermarket within 2 min walk and the tram station within 5 min walk!
Also the breakfast are delicious and well-priced! What a great deal!

JJoe0412Blandad vistelse. Jag sov verkligen inte bra. Det är inte vandrarhemmets fel att folk kommer hem sent och för oväsen, men jag sov inte bra på grund av det.
Fantastiskt, uselt utrustat kök. Riktigt lätt att laga mat själv. Trevlig lobby som är riktigt bekväm.
Duschen var inte så ren, massor av insekter i handfatet. Bara 2 toaletter för männen på hela våningen? Lite konstigt. 5 duschar vilket räcker.
Rummet är okej. Stort skåp (ta med hänglås), sängen är bekväm. Kudden är helt otroligt obekväm.
2 uttag bredvid sängen. Fantastisk luftkonditionering.
Incheckningen är svår att klockan 15.00. Det är inte alls flexibelt så planera din tid.
Vandrarhemmet organiserar sociala evenemang via sin WhatsApp-grupp och verkar ha mycket att göra.
Läget är ganska bra. Begränsat bar-/klubbbuller och det är gångavstånd till många platser. Det ligger i det judiska kvarteret, cirka 5 minuters promenad från Astoria.
Personalen verkar tillräckligt vänlig. Men ärligt talat hade jag begränsad interaktion med dem.
Sovsal med 6 bäddar.

Ttongtong.333I stayed at three wombats on this trip (Munich and Vienna ) and this one is the best!!! There is air conditioning inside the room!! Can’t complain!!! I visited in summer time and it’s grateful to have A/C. Besides there is a little fan every bed just like in wombat Vienna. The bath room is great, lots of space to put your stuffs, with hair dryer as well. Room is big, full size mirror is a plus. Guest kitchen is big too and three big fridges with enough space to store food. Great location easy to get to metro/ airport bus. Most importantly affordable price!! Love my stay thank you ☺️

LLili_NОчень атмосферный отель, который расположен на 2 этаже (по кнопке в лифте) жилого дома. Вход в подъезд со стороны основной дороги, почти на углу дома, огромная красивая дверь, где есть табличка Leo Boutique, надо нажать 58. Номер небольшой, но уютный и высокие потолки с видом из окна- это большой плюс, также приятно было получить от отеля комплимент в виде бутылочки игристого вина, что после перелета весьма кстати. Приятная девушка на ресепшн. Идеальное месторасположение!!! В радиусе 5-15 минут ходьбы основные достопримечательности и всевозможные кафе, рестораны, сувенирные лавки. От остановки Астория, где останавливается автобус 103 из аэропорта, идти минут 5, там же останавливается обзорный экскурсионный автобус. Отель рекомендую однозначно. Остановлюсь здесь в следующую поездку обязательно!

I was there as a solo traveler however I believe the hotel room size can easily accommodate a couple as well.
The location is exquisite just within a few hundred meters from the tramway and the metro and bus stops (Oktogon M station)!!!
And from and to the airport, you don't even have to take a cab. Just use tramway or metro and then connect to blue bus # 100E (an express bus service to the airport). The receptionist lady, amazing 👏 Her name is Sofia and she's very helpful. She can even suggest you places to visit. If you arrive earlier than official check in time, I can promise you you will enjoy the luggage drop off service and be walking around (or even take a metro or tramway and go have fun somwhere) till you check in.
Given that this is a budget hotel, why not stay there?

Ppoon1Very satisfied with my stay in this hostel. Has everything I expected cleanliness, location, ease of transportation to all places of interest, cafes, restaurants and supermarkets everywhere. It is in a party district with the accompanied noise into the middle of the night but it did not affect my sleep at least for me without the need for ear plugs which the hostel provides if you need them. And staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Sadly, I didnt get much sleep due to inconsiderate roommates who continued typing on their laptop through the night, and generally making noise with shuffling plastic bags past midnight. Of course, that's just bad luck, nothing to blame hostel for. However, thickness of the walls IS hostel's feature, and it's worth knowing that you might hear your next-room neighbors snoring (walls seem to have left thin in grand hostel expansion), which doubles risks of noise-polluted sleep.
The private bathroom is the tiniest ever, with a washbasin the size of a shoe, which makes tooth brushing or face washing a contortionist act.
Now, after several stays here, I can confirm that hostel doesnt ever read or respond to special requests (such as preferred bunk bed) - I understand requests are not always made possible, but staff consistently confirms they dont even read them or care to respond.
I also had a small request for my departure, if my bag could stay in the room an additional half an hour or so after the official check-out time at 11 (i left the hostel at 5:30 am, but wanted not to be pressed by returning earlier just to take the bag out ”in time”), but the staff didnt have any flexibility about it, still requesting 2.000 huf (almost amounting to a night rate) for leaving a piece of luggage past 11. So in the end, i left the hostel early morning, and explored the icy city while rolling my bag non-stop. The policy is ridiculously strict. As, if i wanted to, i could have left my bag in the room without asking sincerely. The check-out is literally dropping the key in the box, so nobody would have ever known. But the fact that it is insisted on the fee, as the housekeeping needs to clean the entire room (i said i would evacuate my bed early anyway), is simply senseless. Last time i stayed here (i spent daytime in the room), i saw what that ”room cleaning” looked like - it was mainly just changing sheets of beds of guests who left , so i cant see how my bag would have made such a large issue for half an hour post check-out, that this silly fee is demanded, as if i booked an extra bed for my bag to sleep in. Like most accommodation providers in the world, hospitality lies on relations with guests, and those are best built if the approach is human, not robotic, and as reasonable as possible.

I stayed here during my trip and really loved the location — super central and easy to get around. The staff were welcoming and the place was clean, which I really appreciated after long days of exploring.
The only downside was the shared dorm experience. One guest came back very late, turned on the lights, talked loudly on the phone, and unfortunately got sick in the bathroom. It made it a bit hard to get proper rest.
Still, the hostel itself is great. If you’re a light sleeper or prefer quiet nights, a private room might be worth considering!

JJoe0412Did not sleep well here at all. There is no privacy in the room, it's not expensive or difficult to put up some sheets or curtains. Very poor effort. It's like sharing a room with your siblings all over again. Very thin walls too so the next door group kept us awake
It's supposed to be quiet after 10pm but they all late check in, as a result I was woken by 2am check ins. The socket next to my bed didn't work, neither did the lamp. The pillow is dreadful. The bed is ok. Window didn't close fully and no curtains so sunrise woke me up.
Excellent kitchen, comfortable lounge areas, 3 showers & 1 bathroom. All cleaned reasonably well. Check in was easy enough, she is very friendly.
The building is absolutely beautiful. The entrance is next to PIZZA ME and a money exchange/kebab store. Supermarkets nearby. Metro & tram nearby. It is in an excellent location.
It was cheap and actually good value, I just didn't sleep well
If you like privacy and quiet then maybe give this one a swerve

Hostel is on a busy main road, lots of traffic noise. Privacy curtains aren't well attached and don't block enough light. The beds are incredibly noisy and the room was hot and stuffy. Sheets not cleaned
Service was excellent. The man was so so friendly and kind. Kitchen well equipped. Free tea & coffee. Shower very basic and toilet was good. Just 2 showers and toilets for many people. ...
100E bus is 2 mins away. Metro, tram and bus all nearby. Tone of food options. Wifi was ok
Towel is 3 euros to rent. Bring your own padlock
