Groomed ski trails to the resort lifts.Located in a 2 acre private lot on a warm southern facing slope of the Big Sky ski area, with panoramic views.Casa Big Sky is a two story private chalet with total built area of approximately 4,000 square feet set in the Cascade subdivision of the Mountain Village of Big Sky , commanding panoramic and unobstructed views of Lone Peak and the Big Sky and Moonlight Basin Ski Area.The owners, who divide their time between Chile, Thailand and Montana, use the upper floor primarily during the ski season. When not in residence the entire home can be rented as a single unit. Because we use - and keep many of our personal possessions in the upper floor - we do ask out guests to be both aware of this and also respectful of our possessions. The lower floor, which can be closed off from the main house as a self contained apartment, is available for rent at most times of the year (there are no owners personal items on this level). Rental of the whole house includes the lower apartment as well as the upper levels. There will never be 2 groups of guests staying.Guest access - You will have access to all parts of the house ( save the office where many of the owners possessions will be stored while they are away), but as noted above, the upper level of the house still is our personal residence for half of each year and as such you will still find some personal items in some closets and storage areas on the upper level. If your group size is larger than 9 persons, we can optionally offer the 5th bedroom / office / Queen futon room. Note however that 25% of the room space will be occupied by storage boxes with the owners personal possessions. The third bedroom boasts two queen sized beds, a dresser and a wall mounted flat screen television. The fourth bedroom has two built in twin sized bunkbeds. This home comes equipped with high speed internet, as well as recently upgraded dishwasher, oven, water softener, wall mounter heaters, hot water heater, refrigerator, hot tub, roof, windows, washer and dryer, refinished floors, fresh paint and a heated driveway. Sitting on a large lot, the house has both a front and back patio. The back patio features festival lighting over the hot tub with unobstructed mountain views. The front deck is over 500 sqft and offers views of the mountains and meadow. The home has several Montana-style elements including, wood vaulted ceiling, elk horn chandelier and stone wood burning fireplace. This home also features an updated kitchen, modernized bathrooms with heated flooring in the master bath and lower levels, hardwood flooring on the main level and is tastefully decorated with western art throughout. The property features large south-facing windows and sliding doors bringing in lots of natural light. Located in the Town Center/Meadow Village of Big Sky, our home is close to everything Big Sky has to offer. The main floor is comfortably laid out with a large kitchen/dining/living room alignment. The kitchen is fully stocked with all necessary cooking and serving utensils. The dining room seats 6. The living room ends with sliding glass doors which open onto a concrete terrace with a private hot tub, gas grill, and open views. 3 bedrooms and 3 baths provide plenty of space for everyone to enjoy. The open floor plan allows for great group space but with enough privacy offered with each room having a bath as well. Thank you for taking the time to consider our home in Big Sky, Montana. If you are not familiar with Big Sky there is beauty everywhere you look. World class fly fishing rivers (Gallatin, Madison and Yellowstone) are minutes away. We fell in love with Big Sky on a ski trip several years ago. Previously we skied resorts in California, Nevada and Utah. The Big Sky ski resort is massive with terrain for every level of skier including triple black diamond runs for the most daring. The lift lines are small to non-existent on weekdays. The entire mountain is covered with detachable high speed lifts. Some have heated seats! We have a hot tub to soak in after a day on the slopes. Big Sky is 45 minutes by car from the west entrance to Yellowstone Park. In the winter we enjoy taking guided snowmobile tours into the park. No cars are allowed in the park during winter. The wildlife in the park during winter is abundant and the crowds are small. Most snowmobile guided tours will have you driving through herds of Bison who use the road during winter to travel around the park. In the summer there are activities in Big Sky and surrounding areas for everyone. Fly fishing, camping, horseback riding, hiking, road biking or mountain biking (Tom especially enjoys the mountain biking trails and golf course), and ATV trips out of Big Sky or West Yellowstone. The PBR bull riding event held every summer at the end of July is a favorite summertime event for the residents of Big Sky. We have two beach cruiser bicycles you can use to ride to the town center.
