Villa Cocobolo is surrounded by the rare Costa Rican Cocobolo hardwood tree as well as the renowned Pochote. The house is built in the loft style with second floor windows offering ocean, sunset, and mountain views. The bathroom and the bedroom are both located upstairs, and the bedroom’s sliding glass doors open to a private balcony allowing ocean views, and monkey and bird watching from the comfort of your bed.The kitchen and entertaining areas are downstairs and have three patios, two of which are accessed by sliding glass doors for more ocean viewing and garden access. Villa Cocobolo can accommodate 2 adults with children or possibly 3 adults. Built and designed by the owner in August of 2008 the home has vaulted ceilings of Pochote beams with Laurel wood paneling and the verandas, patios, stairs, door and window frames are all accented in Teak.Villa Cocobolo has a fully equipped kitchen, comes completely furnished, and is surrounded by lush gardens, white gravel walkways, wrought iron gates for added privacy and private parking, pressurized hot/cold water, sky/cable tv, wifi, cleaning service, gardener and laundry services.We are also excited to announce in December 2016, we will be adding our own ocean/sunset view craft beer pub on the premises along with a small restaurant to better serve our guests and the area's needs. A short drive south are the more popular surf spots of playa carmen (mal pais) and santa teresa, but just a few minutes away in manzanillo and playa hermosa you can find waves for all levels of surfing (reef, point breaks, beach breaks, river mouths) – beginner to advanced – with crowd and attitude free, consistent surf. We can also set-up surf lessons with qualified instructors.The fishing....Manzanillo and north to the bongo river is an area famous for fishing. You can go local and try your hand at hand-line fishing or bring your own gear and head out to the reefs at low tide. You may get lucky and hook sea bass, snook, red snapper, or a rooster. A quick run north will get you to the bongo which is legendary for its fishing due to its river mouth - a great place to catch snook, just ask a local family who bought a car they call “robalo” meaning “snook” in spanish. Casa Khoisan is a luxury vacation home on a 4 acre private property nestled in the jungle and overlooking the Pacific Ocean. You will enjoy the cooler hilltop temperatures up on the wide floating terrace above the forest canopy surrounded by abundant wildlife while being only a 5 minute drive from the world class surfing beach of Playa Hermosa in North Santa Teresa.The Casita offers a full kitchen, large garden bathroom with hot water and outside rain shower, A/C, 200 Mbps high speed fiber optic internet, and secured parking.The space:Casa Khoisan is one of three houses located on an ocean view estate. The owners, who are the friendly and laid back hosts, Jon and Chantelle, live in one of the houses. The property is on top of the ridge of hills that over looks the area of Playa Hermosa in north Santa Teresa, Costa Rica. Playa Hermosa is well known to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the area with incredible surf for all levels from beginners to experienced surfers. The small, united and friendly community has a few nice cafes and restaurants, a surf shop with board rentals and surf instructors, and a grocery store. The drive down to the beach takes a quick 5 minutes. It is indeed walkable, around 30 minutes, but coming back, you will have to go uphill.The property has fruit trees (mango season is from March - May in case anyone was wondering) and a walking trail that leads 200 meters downhill to the bottom of a jungle valley, where the property ends at a secluded creek. Here, there is a small waterfall and natural pool in the rainy season. If the guests opt to take this walk, they will experience a special place where they can enjoy being completely alone in the belly of the jungle and surrounded by nature.Guest access:Having your own transport (best to reserve well ahead of time especially in peak season) is highly recommended as the property is situated up in the residential Santiago hills. The property is located on a public road so access is well traveled and easy but as it is a dirt road and depending on the road conditions, a 4x4 or ATV is best (especially during the rainy season from May to October), a standard SUV or vehicle with high clearance is acceptable, and a sedan is most often doable, but not recommended. This is our recommendation for a vehicle anywhere in the greater Santa Teresa area.
