"When we arrived at the hotel around 4 pm, the reception was empty. After waiting for 15 minutes, we decided to come back later. When we returned at around 7 pm, we were told that our Trip.com booking hadn’t been received, nor had the payment for it. Fortunately, the hotel still had rooms available and we were finally able to stay the night as planned. The room is large and comfortable. Spotlessly clean. Breakfast is standard but adequate (fresh and varied breads, butter, jam; processed meats and cheeses; unlimited coffee; muesli; fruit; yoghurt).
The receptionist can’t do much about our problem as he doesn’t know how to use the hotel’s software and seems a bit at a loss with our case. We discover the next day that apparently this person is also in charge of housekeeping. The following morning, we have to pay for our room a second time, as the first payment wasn’t received. After a phone call with trip.com helpline, things seem to be sorting themselves out (trip.com will refund the booking and the price difference).
It’s worth noting that we’ve been staying at this hotel for several years and have never had a problem of this sort before. Could this be linked to a change of ownership?"
