"Hotel a bit out of the way but OK since furano is a small remote farming town anyway. Hotel a bit old and room not exactly clean but tidy. Price is expensive despite including breakfast and dinner which is decent but not great but still the cheapest around during peak season."

"Excellent location. As close to the quad chair as you can get. I recommend the dinner a breakfast package. Amazing selection of sushi, meats, seafood, burgers, curries and so so much more. Enough variety to feed my fussy eating child. Open bar and pour your own beers. Kids play area…..more for younger kids. Sweets table in the kids play area was awesome as were all the amenities, hot chocolate, beer, sake. Rooms were spacious although the beds are true singles and small. Sofa bed was utilised for child and was super hard. We would com back here again."

"Very good staff!! The hostel is so good with big and clean shared bathroom. Everything is new and modern. There are a kitchen and shared space for relaxing. I live it. The room not that big but it is good. Excellent wifi. BUT you have to make a bedsheet yourself. 😂😂 Overall I love it so much. Will come back next time"

"This hotel use the self check in system. However they don't remind guest about the check out time so I am never informed about the check out time. Finally the last day, the receptionist just came to my door at 10:00 and told me I need to pay. I was shocked and asked politely about not charging extra money and got out the room at 10:20. They finally still needed to charge me 2000 Yan. I requested to have the price list and all policies about the check in and check out. THE MAN RECEPTIONIST CAME INTO MY ROOM AND SHOWED ME THE BOOKLET. ONLY ME AND HIM IN THE ROOM, THEN HE SHOUTED AT ME IN JAPANESE RUDELY !!!! I have the right to understand all the pricing and information although I have time exceed, I can pay however I don't deserve the bad attitude of their hotel service. It is the WORST STAY EVER in my life. The time was 31st Dec 10:30 a.m. when he shouted at me. SHAME ON HIM AND THE HOTEL."

"a warm and cozy place. very near to city centre and friendly for travellers driving. free carpark. friendly staffs. it would be better if it has onsen instead of only hot water bath in the common area. value deal if you are travelling around the town."

"It was a very large room; albeit with older facilities. Comes with free parking and it's a good base to stay when you are looking for a stay within the town itself. Just note that the shampoo are provided in a single packet and soap is provided in a bar form."

"Room is nice and clean, very comfortable and location ease to find. Very nice hotel. Breakfast is valuable as well only 2000yen per pax. I like the drinks area and got free wine to drink from 3pm-9pm. Nice and quiet environment. Will come again. Good facilities for hot bath. Nice customer service"

"I had a wonderful stay at Chalet Burlap Furano (yes, this is their official name on Google map) and enjoyed their hospitality! The host is very friendly and kindly recommended what to do and visit in Furano. I had a great experience exploring Furano with Motorbike, recommended by my host Kuen! It is warm and cozy hostel and also got music shows after 9pm. Highly recommended!!"

"I stayed 5 nights in July 2025, and I am fully satisfied and would totally recommend the hostel. The hostel is located in a peaceful area, you can get there by bus from the airport or from Furano Station. The hostel provides slippers, a towel, a toothbrush, a hair brush, and earplugs. You will find shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel in the showers. The bunk beds are spacious enough for a tall person (I'm 170 and had lots of space left), have and entrance with a curtain that totally covers from the light outside if you need to go to bed early, and you can charge your phone inside. I met many nice people, both Japanese and foreigners, the hostel is very international, we had some convenience store food for dinner/breakfast in the common room and shared our travel plans and recommendations for the local area. I was advised to go to Biei Tourism Information to book a half a day tour, which can be booked on the day there, and includes all the sightseeing spots around Biei, so you don't have to worry about how to get to these famous tourist spots. Also, I was advised to rent a bicycle (the 2nd one from the station is only 2000yen for a day) and where to go around Furano, so I'm really happy the hostel provides a common area for us to help each other, and to never feel alone there. All in all, I'll be back in the winter season and for lavender season again. Thank you for having me."
