"We enjoyed the rather spacious room and the view of rolling hills. With large beds and a tatami room, it felt rather luxurious. The entire place has an 80s vibe, but good thing we liked the nostalgia it brought for us. The room was quick clean too. Only that the outside balcony and windows had a few rather large spiders and spider webs. Good thing we don't have arachnophobia. They have two locations for their onsens at different timings. So that needed some getting used to. The onsens themselves are decent enough. Getting to the place was a little tricky as we didn't know what was the best bus to hop onto. We hopped onto the bus that Google Maps indicated was the most direct, only to realise as we were boarding that that bus was not covered under the Hakone Free Pass. On hindsight, to utilise the Hakone Free Pass, one should take the bus to Yunessen, the hotel next door and walk a short distance uphill. For the price we thought it was quite worth it, especially compared to some of the other hotels nearby."

"Расположен в 12-15 минутах ходьбы от ж.д. станции Хаконе Юмото. Отель старенький. Заселяли полдня, не могли найти наше бронирование через trip.com, пришлось обратиться в службу поддержки. Выдают юкаты (одинаковые для мужчин и женщин). Брали тематический ужин и завтрак, очень понравилась тонко нарезанная говядина кобе, которая готовиться на горелке на столе. Остальные закуски не понравились. Обслуживание очень медленное, заказанное пиво ждали двадцать минут и принесли только после напоминания. Просили в качестве гарнира рис, но его так и не принесли. Онсен раздельный, крытый бассейнчик и два чана одноместных на балконе. В понедельник людей было мало. Как опыт пойдет, но больше сюда не вернёмся, поищем что то посовременнее."

"Personalen var väldigt vänlig och jag hade en bekväm vistelse varje dag. Tack. Det är ett rent, klassiskt hotell, och många av gästerna var avslappnade, så jag kände mig väldigt avslappnad. Jag åkte på sightseeing under dagen, men nästa gång tror jag att det vore trevligt att koppla av på loungens veranda. Frukostbuffén var också utsökt. Jag älskade curryn och grytan. Jag anlände till Hakone med kollektivtrafik, så det var väldigt bekvämt att hotellets gratisbuss gick från Togendai fram till kvällen. Busstrafiken till Togendai efter utcheckning var också mycket bekväm. Det fanns något i stil med en busshållplats nära hotellet, så nästa gång skulle jag vilja kontrollera busstiderna så att jag kan njuta av sightseeing mer flexibelt. Det verkade inte finnas några restauranger i närheten, så jag ska undersöka det nästa gång."

"Rummet är utsökt och kompakt, med alla nödvändiga faciliteter. Det är ganska rymligt för två personer, och det är precis rätt för en familj på fyra. Den största egenskapen med hotellet är att det erbjuder privata bad, där du kan ta ett bad med vänner eller familj. I Japan är offentliga bad uppdelade i män och kvinnor, så det är oundvikligt att de kommer att skiljas åt. Hotellet ligger nära Owakudani, mycket tyst och lämpligt för semester. "20 min uphill hike from Gora station. Or you can take cable train up hill for two stations and walk on flatland for about 8 minutes to hotel. Hotel has shuttle bus. They dropped us off on the way back. You can possibly call to pick you up at Gora station. Trip.com reservation options show you prices for one adult. It's very hard to book for 3 people to stay in one room to save money. I sent a custom request to the hotel exactly this - 3 people in one room. Trip.com charged me $270 and when I got to the hotel, they said I have to pay $300+ more for 2 more people. That was not clearly communicated to me by either Trip.com or hotel. There's a language and cultural barrier. In Japan, you pay per person - not by rooms. They scan your all passports of everyone staying - not just the person who books. With last minute notice, I had no choice but to pay more as other hotels nearby are filled up and we were very tired from 4 hours train transfers dragging our bags plus 8 minutes walk to the hotel. All in all, if trip.com room selections are not a perfect fit, I can't recommend booking this hotel. Custom messages are not recognized. Communication is lacking. You will get charged last minute without any alternatives left. For $570 a night, we could have a way better hotel in Hakone. The breakfast also wasn't memorable and you have to reserve it ahead of time. I would not come back."

"Great location. Just right in front of the Gora station and bus stops are just right outside the hotel. Very convenient location to every parts of hakone. The furnishing in the room and hotel seem old but cleanliness wise is acceptable though not fantastic in Japanese standard. We purchased the dinner as there are no restaurants open past 8pm except restaurant in hotels. JPY3800 per pax is considered expensive as the quality of food is just so so but some alcohol drinks are provided. May be that’s the reason for this price"

"Потрясающий опыт. Еда была чудесная, персонал очень милый, онсен прекрасный. Помимо нас в отеле была еще всего одна семья, так что публичные онсены практически превратились в приватные. Остались очень впечатлены ужином с сашими и говядиной вагю. Сняла одну звезду за чистоту, но, возможно, так показалось из за общей «потрепанности» обстановки (видны следы времени). В любом случае, атмосфера этого места все компенсирует"

"Overall, the impression is positive, and we thank the staff for their care. However, the ryokan is quite old, and inside all the rooms there is a smell of age, which makes it not very pleasant to stay there. The Japanese food is very specific — it’s just my personal taste, but I couldn’t have breakfast or lunch there. Considering that this was the most expensive “hotel” during our 14-day trip around Japan, our expectations were a bit higher. In any case, we thank the staff for this unique experience."
