"We had an amazing stay at this hotel and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The value for money is outstanding—everything you get here easily exceeds the price. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and very pleasant to stay in, making it a great place to relax after a long day.
The service was exceptional. The staff were always willing to help with anything we needed, no matter what it was, and they were consistently super kind, polite, and welcoming. You can really feel that they care about the guests.
The location is perfect, with a bus stop right outside the hotel, making it very easy to get anywhere in the city quickly and efficiently.
Overall, a fantastic stay—highly recommended!"

"pretty good place to stay as it's pretty close to the tram and it's located in the centre of town. there was only one elevator for this specific branch so it could get a bit annoying. there's also no coin laundry service but there's one located just right beside but it's pretty costly."

GGästanvändareThe location is superb, room was clean, spacious and with a nice balcony. The room provided all you need on a leisure trip.
The only downside was it was super complicated and time consuming to contact the hostel for entrance pin, check-in procedure and check-in number. We asked the front desk receptionist of our previous hotel to call the hostel number stated on trip.com booking confirmation email in morning, but no one picked up; called again at 3pm, and the hostel hotline said the number was wrong and referred us to call another number. If we did not have the assistance from a Japanese local receptionist from another hotel, I dont think we could get the entrance pin and check-in procedure information smoothly.
I recommend this hostel to Japanese local, or tourists with a Japanese mobile number to make calls/able to find assistance from Japanese local people.

KKHop5mins' walk to Kagoshimachuo Station. Could hear trains passing by now and then but it doesn't really affect sleep. Polite staff. We stayed for two nights and got slightly different breakfast options each morning which is a plus!

GGästanvändareGood stay, with clean room and comfortable bed. Breakfast has more of western style, less of Japanese food, but the view of Sakurajima can be seen from restaurant. However in the morning, you may be eating under the sunshine, so better to go for breakfast either very early or much later, not when 8 plus as the sun is strong and you may be given a window seat for solo traveller and when the restaurant is packed.

Mmooved&loovedMy second stay at Quintessa. This time, it was a last min booking. The room, as with all Jap hotels, is small. Difficult for a clam-shell luggage. But it will be manageable if you packed well. Location is good - near to the airport limousine bus bus-stop, near to eateries, cafe, LOFT, MUJI, DON DONKI etc.

I spent three nights and I wish I could spend even longer time there due the comfort and convenience of the property .

GGästanvändareIt’s only a 6-minute walk from Kagoshimachuo Station! I stayed in the Tatami Room which can be relatively small for people with big luggages. Like other hostels, the toilets, shower rooms, and common space are shared among the floor. However, I do find the shower area a little small. Many of us wouldn’t enter the shower area if somebody was using the sink because the sink was right in front of one shower cubicle HAHAHA. And yes, there’s only one sink in the common shower area.
I would recommend this place if you are doing a short stay in Kagoshima because there’s lots of shops and restaurants around the area! By the way, it’s located along the same lane as the famous “tonkatsu kawakyu とんかつ川久”. Please try it because it’s the best tonkatsu I’ve ever eaten!

CchromastarlightA classic Showa-era business class hotel with a beautiful lobby. Features and amenities were standard for this class. The room was quiet and with careful management of the window curtains and heat pump comfortable enough on winter nights. Wifi/Internet was fast. There was a noticable odor behind the toilet where it's hard to clean, and though it was hard to see while standing, sitting in the bath revealed a ring of mildew on a seam of waterproof wall around the tub, which was no big deal but a surprise in an otherwise clean room. I'd probably stay again because the price on my package deal was competitive, but was disappointed to find that the late check-out service was not available for the stated fee (or any fee); I may not have communicated my request correctly to the night front desk clerk the evening before check-out morning (night three of three), the first such denial received at a Japanese business class hotel, and so you should probably inquire at check-in if you think you might require this so that there are no surprises.

Have to take a bus from Kagoshimachuo station and then walk 10 mins to the hostel. However, it's 10 mind walk to the main shopping area and restaurants.
