"Pros: staff is so friendly and kind, it’s a great location on Kokusai-dori (near both monorail and a bus stop), and it really is kept quite clean Cons: loud and cold. I would have left, but I knew they wouldn’t give me a refund ZERO soundproofing! There’s all these rules telling us “no calls, keep quiet” but you can hear everyone slamming doors in the hallway and using the hair drier and washing machines at night. There was also so much noise from the street, whether it was parties at night or children screaming during the day. I was up until 3 at night because of people both inside and outside. The walls are also so thin, I could actually hear snoring from the room next to me. Why are there all these rules about sound, yet it’s still so loud?! They tell us, “please keep calls to the common area” but the common area’s window is also right on the street, so I had to take a work call with sirens screaming through the area. The room was also freezing. It was 17-20 degrees outside most days, and even in the hallway the temperature was fine. But in my room, it felt like it was 12. I had to pay to rent extra pajamas from them because it was so cold at night. And there was constantly a breeze coming from somewhere in my room! But because there’s no individually controlled AC, there was nothing I could do. I could feel myself getting sick here"

"We have stayed at this hotel numerous times since 2015, and it has consistently been a convenient choice due to its fantastic location near the train station. The breakfast is enjoyable, though the restaurant can feel a bit cramped, especially when it's busy with travelers. During this visit, we noticed that the room seemed recently renovated—it was clean and free of the cigarette smell that we had encountered during previous stays, even in non-smoking rooms. Overall, we had a very pleasant experience this time and truly enjoyed our stay."

"Good location and walkable distance to 國際通。Parking is just 1000yen per night and it is not far from the hotel, will definitely choose Smile Hotel again when I go Okinawa next time. "

"Breakfast is at a small space. Have to seat in rows backing facing others for most and only limited tables for 4 persons or 2 persons. Limited varieties of food but tasty enough. Hotel is also not flexible to allow just a few min of early check in. Only allow check in on the dot. It is walking distance from Yui Stn / shopping mall next door and also to near International street. Location wise it is good."

"The pros: The room is larger than other hotel in Japan. The shower room is small like others. The amenities are provided at the reception. The location is good. In front of the hotel, there is a good coffee shop. The cons: At the back of TV’s counter is very dirty, full of dust. The fridge did not work. The parking is ¥1,000 per day but if it full you have to find the parking around the hotel. I found that the parking around the hotel is cheaper than hotel’s parking, ¥500 per night."

"This hotel exceeded our expectations. Reception staff were polite, professional and friendly. Toiletries were available from the lobby area and the laundry facilities were only ¥400 for both washing and drying. Housekeeping was only done after three nights, but that wasn’t a problem for us. Towels could be exchanged daily. Just a few minutes from the superb Naha Main mall, which contained plenty of eateries, stores and even a supermarket which sold delicious yellow kiwis. The food was really good. About 15 minutes walk away, we found Phoenix Dragon which served lovely Gyozas and spoke to a delightful English speaking local. The monorail was within 6-7 minutes walk away. Bus stops were within easy reach. Would definitely recommend this excellent hotel."

"My go-to hotel when we are in okinawa or anywhere in japan. It is very convenient from train station just 5 minutes walk when you get off from train station. Breakfast was great a buffet style with lots of choices and fress fruit shake. Easy chek in and chek out"

"The location of this hotel is excellent however... there were a few things I found concerning: There was no emergency exit information provided to us. If there was a fire and you asked me to find the stairs I would not have been able to. The window in our room was cloudy with some caked on dirt and mineralization (which you could feel on the inside). The shower worked kind of. There was one time it cut out in the middle of bathing and I had to put my head under the faucet to rinse my hair. The free sake bar is not what you think. The one cup sake, you can get at lawson's for 100 yen is WORLDS better than anything they had available. I wouldnt clean my bike engine with the drinks they had. Draft beer was local Orion and was great. Breakfast was a solid 6.5/10. Miso was super salty day 1 and improved a lot day 2 we were there. The staff across the board were very nice, kind, and helpful. This place has an impeccable location, and if that is your primary concern go for it.If you're splurging a little bit on this accommodation, thinking that you're getting a bunch of amenities, save your money and just buy beer and sake from the store."
