Villa Rottnaholm was built in 2011 and offers a modern but very Swedish feeling of space. Forests and meadows alternate. We have created fireplaces on the lake shore for romantic evenings. There is a large trampoline for children and some seating. Our canoes lie on three small sandy bays. Extended boat tours are ideal. You get the best impression of the surroundings when you hike up the nature reserve on the other side of the lake on one of the beautiful forest paths. Once at the top, you can lie down on the grass, take a picnic break and enjoy the wonderful view of the most beautiful part of Varmland.The Rottnansee with its location reminiscent of fjords is framed by mountains and with its length of about 20 km it is also not very small. Ideal for long canoe trips.The wider area: You will certainly be in Sunne more than once because of the larger offer for daily needs. Just leave the car at the train station and treat yourself to a train ride to the state capital Karlstad. The journey will not disappoint, because it leads you along Frykensee and is one of the most beautiful train routes that I know. This way you will also get to know the 'metropolis' Karlstad. You can also drive from Sunne in the opposite direction to Torsby along Frykensee and make a detour to Tossebergs-Klättan and enjoy the lake landscape from there. It is worthwhile in any case; and from Torsby, which is only 35 km away from us, every morning a small propeller plane flies directly to Stockholm and back in the evening. Villa Björklöven is a holiday home for the discerning guest. Built in 2011 according to the latest standard, it fulfills (almost) every wish: underfloor heating and triple glazing made the interior work possible up to the roof. You will immediately feel comfortable in the airy and bright rooms. The living area and kitchen are integrated and have floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides. The lake view is phenomenal. Two bathrooms and the sauna are just as standard as a washing machine (with integrated dryer), dishwasher, shoe dryer, TV with preset German programs etc. The most beautiful is the 135,000 m² nature site, which is also in the middle of the landscape protection area and extends to the lake. You only share this huge area with two other holiday homes, as well as the Villa Hultängen, which is located somewhat higher. Families who are friends can also rent two houses together. Due to the location on the lake, the property is particularly low in mosquitoes - a great advantage.The surrounding area: Villa Björklöven can be reached via a private driveway (approx. 150 meters). The property is characterized by rich trees and only opens to the lake. Now look directly at the wonderful Rottnansee and the Gettjärns-Klättan nature reserve opposite, to which you can paddle over by canoe to hike up romantic forest paths and enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the lake landscape. But our property is also worth exploring: meadows, birch groves and groves alternate; two small torrents are not only interesting for children. The private lake shore with its 400 meters length is not common even in Sweden. From here you can see the many small bays of Lake Rottnansee, which has a bit of a fjord character. The surrounding area is little built up and gently wavy - the views of the lake are always beautiful. The next town Gräsmark is 7 km away; Here you will find everything for shopping: (supermarket, petrol station, post office).The wider area: After two or three days of acclimatization, you will certainly feel the need for a longer excursion: The town of Sunne, 20 km away, is located on Lake Frykensee and is already ideal for more extensive 'shopping'. There is also an adventure pool with lots of slides for children, mini golf, bowling, etc. Before Sunne, also at Frykensee, there is a golf course worth seeing and the Rottneros Park, which is also worthwhile for children with its manor house and the great gardens, because here they can get rid of excess energy on the adventure playground while the parents relax in the 'Rottneros Café'. A tip for gourmets is the lonely 'Värdshus' on Lake Tväll. (Via Gräsmark towards the Norwegian border). The view from the patio door and window of the lake is awesome. The character of the house is playful in Swedish, like in the three bedrooms, but also with a modern 'touch' for the comfort-conscious guest. Villa Hultängen is well suited for 6 people. The three bedrooms are not only equipped with beds, but also with a comfortable seating area. Baths and saunas meet the modern standard. The terrace is huge: you can grill, sit comfortably and enjoy the beautiful view. The usual comforts such as dishwashers, washing machines, freezers, microwaves etc. are a matter of course. Electric towel warmer and shoe dryer will make you feel comfortable.Villa Hultängen is located on a 135,000 sqm private area and is well shielded by trees and bushes on the street side. Apart from the lawns around the house, you can grill on this huge property not only on the terrace, but also at the campfire site by the lake. Perhaps you would also like to retreat to a small forest or have fun in one of the meadows: the property simply gives everything. A canoe is ready for you on the lake shore, just 350 meters away. The ring road around the lake is an ideal terrain for bike tours. The Swedish king felt the same way, which is why he has his summer residence here on Lake Rottnansee. But if you really want to 'get on with it' for tourism, you will find pretty much everything you need in a ten to fifteen-minute drive (20 km): a water park with an incredible number of slides in Sunne am Frykensee, with a bowling alley, mini Golf and discotheque next door - and if you don't want to drive that far, Rottneros Park with an adventure playground for children and the manor house with its wonderful facilities for adults. Everything is right on one of the many lakes as it should be, including the golf course, which despite its fantastic location offers fair prices.The journey as a valuable part of the holiday: the journey to the holiday destination does not have to be tiring. Even those who use the ferry connection to Sweden via Puttgarden will appreciate the 'coffee break' on the ship. But why don't you even travel by ferry from Kiel to Oslo? From Oslo there are only 2 hours driving to us: You stayed on the ferry and enjoyed the beautiful entry into the Oslo Fjord in the morning - so the last section is a pleasure. Fortify yourself at the Scandinavian buffet of the ferry and take your time for a stroll through Oslo! By the way: the ferry is not that expensive if you book in time.
