While this is not a 'ski-in /ski-out' house, it is only 4 minutes drive to Sugar Mountain Ski area. You can also take the free mountain shuttle brings you directly to the ski area and runs every hour. There is an inner-tube run for non-skiers or those with young children. There are several advantages to being located a few minutes away from the slopes: many people that stay 'on the slopes' or in a 'ski-in/ski-out' condo or home say the constant ski traffic of cars is bothersome and the loud whine from the snow-blowing machines which are running 24hours per day can affect sleep.Banner Elk, Sugar Mountain is not only the best for winter snow skiing, it makes a great vacation year round.
