"The location was great and I really liked the free transportation ( you should boocked it earlier by contacting the front desk)— super convenient!
Breakfast was okay, but there weren’t many options. The pancakes were already gone even though the buffet had just started about 30 minutes earlier.
Also, both coffee machines at the reception weren’t working — one was broken and the other kept showing an error. When they tried to fix it, they had to turn it off completely, so unfortunately, no coffee in the morning."

"Location is great. Less than 10 minutes by car from airport. The reception staff is friendly and helpful.
The biggest beef I have with the service is that the reception said due to overbooking by the hotel my room type (2 queen beds) was not available anymore. I paid extra for this room type and I ended up having to take a king bed and sofa bed. I had to sleep on the sofa which was not as comfortable.
I demand that the hotel refund me a part of my booking for this hotel."

GGästanvändareWe stayed at tons of Marriott properties around Chicago and this was in our top 3. Location is top in the heart of River North, there is another ”super fancy” Residence but at that location all the employees had attitude and it felt really weird. This is the best one. I felt like I could live here, the staff are all really capable, at one point my living room TV wasn't working (someone had plugged it in wrong) and they had a maintenance tech up there in less than 15 minutes. They also called to follow up and make sure I was taken care of, which really impressed me. Free breakfast is very good. The only ”note” I would say is that this is a building where you have to take 2 elevators to reach your rooms, one to the main lobby and then a second to the rooms. The ”close” button is normally in the same place in every elevator but in this one it's the ”Call for Help” button, so I accidentally reached the elevator techs who asked if I was trapped, haha. I ended up doing this a few times, so if you're an ”always press close button” person make sure you find the right button first!

SsknoseyThe free breakfast is not a full buffet but a choice of egg and then usually fried potato and beefburger patty or slices of sausage. the rest was tiny yoghurt and bread for toast, or make your own waffles. there is tea coffee and hot chocolate. There was cereal and porridge but sometimes it is made so thin that its not worth eating.
There is no tea in the room, just coffee. The machine had a disposable tray but they ran out so I used the same one for 9 days for tea and coffee (i got teabags from the breakfast room). Housekeeping never supplied what you asked for first time, or even second. If you want something and ask at 2pm, you will get it if you chase a couple of times afterwards by 9-10pm.
There was also alot of messing about with respect to check out time. I am a member of the loyalty programme which is meant to give you an automatic late checkout. The manager gave it to me but then when I went back to ask about extending it further for a fee, it was clear the other guy behind the counter was on a power trip and the day before started saying I shouldnt have got it and as it was the manager, he wouldnt withdraw it but he could and I should only get an hour and be charged $25/hr after that etc. He was just a mean spiteful man who saw an opportunity to cause worry and distress and he did it. I had luggage to store and it was a late flight so I had to know whether to pack to store it to check out at midday, or 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 (they were messing me about with all times) but this is why I gave a 1 star for service. It is not at all professional but childish and spiteful. I had arranged the extended checkout days before and the day before they were messing me about when I had to pack and had a schedule of things to do? The worst service in any hotel I have ever been in. Hilton is no longer a 5 star experience it seems. 1 star for service.

DDimel HarderLocation is good with a beautiful view. Just a heads up bring your own slipper and dental kit and drinking water because they don’t have complimentary of such. Overall we had a great sleep and we enjoyed our stay.

Frontskrivarpersonalen var vänlig, professionell och gick ut ur deras väg för att se till att min vistelse var bekväm.Rummet var rent, modernt och välutrustat med allt jag behövde. Sängen var otroligt bekväm, och jag uppskattade den tysta atmosfären för att få en bra natt vila innan jag flyger.
Hotellet har också ett väl underhållet fitnesscenter, som var en extra bonus.Överlag är värdet av pengar på detta Holiday Inn utmärkt.Jag rekommenderar det starkt till alla som letar efter en bekväm, ren och bekväm vistelse nära O'Hare flygplats. Jag stannar definitivt här igen.

Towels not provided as per paid occupants. Need to request. Unable to do the make up for ladies as the Sensor entrance light is too dim.

GGästanvändareThe room was super clean and spacious. Cleaning ladies were very nice. The girls at the front desk were super friendly, some guys not so much. If you want to cook in the room, you can request some cooking pots, but they were overused and scratched. Their free breakfast is decent. Very nice gym with a peloton bike. Overall, I think this is good option for longer time stay.

I was initially quite hesitant to check into this hotel after reading a number of detailed and lengthy negative reviews, especially those highlighting hidden fees and cleanliness issues. However, upon arrival with my partner, I was pleasantly surprised.
The hotel was clean and well-decorated, with a modern and cohesive style. Our check-in process was fast and efficient, and the receptionist was friendly and happy to answer all of our questions—especially about the fees mentioned on the hotel’s website.
One of the main issues people seem to bring up is the so-called “hidden” fees. In my experience, these fees are not actually hidden—they’re listed on the hotel’s official website. That said, they could definitely be communicated more clearly. It’s important to read the fine print when booking and during check-in. While the fees may not be obvious at first glance, the hotel is legally allowed to include them since they are technically disclosed.
Our room was spacious and comfortable, with enough space to hang clothes. There were multiple hangers, and the locker-style closets matched the hotel’s sporty decor. The floor and bathroom were clean overall, though I did spot a spider in the corner of the shower—but nothing alarming.
The downstairs common area includes an open kitchen with a communal fridge and even a crockpot, which was a nice surprise. There were also several games available, like ping pong and air hockey, which makes this place family- and couple-friendly.
Guests are allowed to enjoy drinks provided in the kitchen. If you’re sensitive to noise, particularly trains, I recommend requesting a room farther down the hall on the first floor. Our room was in a quiet spot—I barely noticed the train, and when I did, it was more like soft white noise. Still, bringing earplugs might help if you’re a light sleeper.
Overall, I recommend this hotel. It’s in a nice area, the decor is visually appealing, and the stay was enjoyable. Just be aware of a $120 refundable deposit (if no damage is done to the room) and an additional $50 guest fee. Knowing that ahead of time helps avoid surprises.
I’m very grateful for the pleasant stay and would return again.
