Charming, accessible cabin near Hatcher pass, this cabin has stairs to a full loft with king bed and two twins. With a small desk area, high speed WiFi and a 50 inch smart TV. This cabin is 15 minutes from palmer and wasilla. It provides everything you’ll need to be at home! With a washer a dryer a nice shower and full kitchen. There is a small air strip on premises which makes for a great pastime watching bush planes take off and land around the fire pit. In the summer we have fresh veggies in the garden for guests. Welcome to the Fireweed Cabin. We are 60 min from anchorage, and 15 minutes from Palmer. In Palmer you will find local gift shops, delicious food, Alaskan history, and the Alaska State Fair! A 15 min drive will put you in beautiful Hatcher Pass recreation area! This location is perfect for hiking, biking, skiing, snow machining, sight seeing, or a road trip through the mountains. The Fireweed Cabin is the perfect base for Alaskan adventures and travels.The Space: Tucked away on the back side of our 5 acres in a sprawling quiet neighborhood is our Fireweed Cabin. Upstairs there is 1 queen bed and a loveseat to take a nap or relax. Or with the FAST WIFI, you can stream your favorite show on the 50" Roku tv. Downstairs there is a sofa bed that opens into a single bed. There is a small dining table for 3, a fully equipped kitchen with olive oil, some needed spices, misc. snacks, K-cup coffee machine, and a full bathroom with a bathtub/shower with shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. There is a Front load washer/dryer with laundry soap and dryer sheets downstairs.Guest access: You have access to the entire guesthouse with a private entrance. There is a small grass yard, a charcoal barbecue grill, a low smoke fire pit,( we supply some wood and fire starter)and an outside table and chairs. Plenty of free parking. Additionally, there is an inviting living room with a futon and overstuffed lazy boy recliner, and kitchen table for 3. The porch boasts 2 chairs where you can drink your coffee among the birch and cottonwood trees. Just minutes from the Little Susitna river, Government Peak hiking and biking trails and the entrance to majestic Hatcher’s pass, it is your perfect basecamp for you Alaskan adventure. Wi fi is available for streaming of your devices but no TV or dishwasher for this rustic cabin. The toilet is an environmentally friendly composting toilet that is odor free and captures (just a taste) of what it is like to be a homesteader in the bush. So kick back, relax, and enjoy the beauty of our corner of the Matanuska Valley. Enjoy a day hiking, fishing or biking and then drive 10 minutes into downtown Palmer and sample the number of breweries, kombucha bar, or craft food that Palmer has has to offer.
