Christmas Tree Cabins is as you would imagine. A hand-crafted cabin in the middle of a Christmas tree farm. This brand-new vacation rental was built with you in mind and sits on a knoll with an 80-year-old red barn and mountain views from every window. You are five minutes to Maggie Valley, ten minutes to Waynesville, and thirty minutes to Asheville, NC. You will find yourself close to the Smoky Mountain National Park, Maggie Valley and Cataloochee for horse-back riding, snow skiing and elk watching.We built the cabin of 600 square feet, from the ground up with you, our guest in mind. A rustic old-style home with modern convenience. The style uses old barn wood, popular tree bark, rusty metal and 100-year-old tobacco sticks on the deck. We used 5 panel doors from the 1920s and finished the floors with hickory and oak hardwoods. Many of these items we collected over years and held in our barn just in case… and they are perfect for this guest cabin.The ceiling is tongue and groove with exposed beams. And the accent walls are barnwood. The layout has a private bedroom with the bathroom inside. There is a sleeper sofa in the living area to sleep two additional guests.You have a private drive and parking is to the side for easy access even in the winter. Around the cabin you have some gorgeous views of the North Carolina mountains.You can enjoy some outside time on your private deck. Or if you choose to stay inside and relax, there is a wide screen television that offers satellite tv choices. Sugar Cabin is a comfortable and nicely furnished log cabin nestled on a wooded lot in the Sugar Valley Springs neighborhood near the historic town of Waynesville and Maggie Valley.. The Smoky Mountain National Park and Cataloochee Valley area are few miles away with quick access to amazing day hikes, breathtaking vistas, waterfalls and rivers, and the world-renowned Blue Ridge Parkway.. The cabin is only a short drive to the Cataloochee Ski Area while the City of Asheville, with all its great restaurants, shops, breweries, art galleries, architectural marvels, and funky/hip yet sophisticated vibe is a mere thirty-five minutes away. Access to the Blue Ridge Parkway is easy, while Waynesville and Maggie Valley offer restaurants, grocery and drug stores, wine cellars, antique shops and most anything else you might require. Take amazing day trips, hikes, and adventures, and return to your cozy cabin to recoup and relax for the evening.Sugar Cabin is fully stocked with furnishings, appliances, linens, kitchen ware, etc., accommodates up to five people, (4 adults and 1 children) with two in the principal bedroom in a hickory pole king-sized bed and ensuite bathroom with shower, two in the guest room with a queen-sized bed, and one in the open living area on a high-quality inflatable queen-sized bed. A second bathroom with shower, tub and washer and dryer is situated between the bedrooms and common area. The living area and principal bedroom open, via sliding glass doors, to the expansive wood deck with rocking chairs, Adirondack chairs, a swinging bench, a fire table and a Bristol table ideal for relaxing while enjoying views of the valley below and mountains beyond. Entertainment is provided by a new 65-inch 4K smart TV (Prime Video, Netflix, YouTube, etc.) in the living area, as well as a TV with Roku in the principal bedroom. High speed Wi-Fi internet access is provided, and a desk offers a dedicated place for laptop sessions in the common area. Board games and cards are provided for fun evenings. A Weber propane grill sits just outside the living area, and the large open kitchen (supplied with all new cutlery, chinaware, pots, pans, and equipment) features a gas oven and stove with a flat griddle built in. A remotely controlled gas fireplace in the living room offers ample warmth and a soothing ambiance on cold nights, while a central HVAC system delivers heated or cooled air to the cabin as needed. With over 35 bird feeders, the sounds of song birds fill the mountain air. Our favorite is the beautiful and lively Hummingbirds. There are 10 Hummingbird feeders on the front porch and back Creekside deck. During the season, it is likely you will experience many Hummingbirds up close. Quite often we sit in the rocking chairs on the front porch and watch 5 - 10 Hummingbirds as they feed and chase each other from a few feet away. Get ready to roast some marshmallows and make s’mores around the main big fire pit just a few feet away from the creek. We love sitting out there in the evenings enjoying each other’s company. There's another creekside fire pit at the grill/patio area too! Kids and adults alike will love exploring the creek which completely surrounds 2 sides of the property. The Creekside deck is a magical place to enjoy the beauty of North Carolina up close. Rushing mountain spring water and native plants embody the natural beauty of the region. The deck sits right along the Creek a mere few feet away. There are rocking chairs, a wrought iron table with 4 chairs and the Creekside bar made out of reclaimed Oak wood with 4 Log trunk stools. In total, there is seating for 12 on the deck. Off the deck is a Creekside patio area with another wrought iron table with 4 chairs, fire pit and gas grill. We are only 1 mile from I-40 Exit 24 and 25 miles to Downtown Asheville and the Biltmore Estate. You only need to make a mere 10 minute drive to enjoy all that Downtown Waynesville has to offer from fine dining to some of the areas best local breweries. The Blue Ridge Parkway cuts right through this area and you are just minutes away from several of its entrances.After more than 20 years of tearing down old barns and log cabins and hoarding away the kinds of things you can't just run to the local building supply and buy this unique property started to take shape. Open up the reclaimed Chestnut barn doors into the bedroom and have the whole house to yourself or bring friends and enjoy everything that this area has to offer. Fishing in this area is a big attraction so bring your fishing poles and get lost in the beauty of the western North Carolina mountains. Walk down through the front yard and be fishing within minutes of your arrival, or maybe a nature walk would do you some good? This cabin offers two bedrooms with queen size beds and pillow top mattresses, Also a couch pullout full size bed. Two bathrooms, one with tub shower unit and one custom tile shower with river stone accents harvested from the river below. The kitchen has most everything for most all of your cooking needs. Downstairs you have a recreation room with a pool table, a mini bar, native stone fireplace with gas logs and a TV. There are four TV's, one in each bedroom. One in the main living room and one in bar/rec room. Direct TV and internet is provided as well. With one bedroom and bath upstairs and one down it is the perfect vacation for two couples to have plenty of privacy. Oh, and don't forget the downstairs patio and upstairs porch where you will most likely spend your time relaxing to the sounds of the river coming around the bend. Watch closely for the huge cranes, hawks and the occasional bald eagles that patrol the river. With this house being on the rivers edge you will most likely see some type of wildlife during your stay, there are coyotes,turkeys, ground hogs, deer, bear, squirrels, etc. Don't be surprised to wake up to the cattle walking by just outside in the mornings. With the long range mountain view driveway and the waterfront cabin this is a truly one of a kind property. This property is home to more than fifty head of cattle so no pets are allowed at any time during your stay here. Also no smoking in the house but it is perfectly fine to smoke outside on the porch or outside patio.
