Welcome to our cabin In The Pines! Our clean and cozy 750 square feet cabin is convenient from traffic off Exit 14 on I-77 in Hillsville, VA. The Blue Ridge Parkway is only 10 minutes from the cabin. Mount Airy, NC (home of Andy Griffith) and historic Galax, VA are 20-30 minutes away. The New River Trail State Park is 20 min drive. Enjoy the creek and fire pit, lay in the hammock, grill out, enjoy tranquility while also close to restaurants, hiking, biking, wineries and breweries.The spaceWelcome to our charming tiny cabin retreat nestled amidst towering pines and oaks. Perfect for couples, small families, and furry friends, our dog-friendly cabin offers a peaceful escape with a wonderful long view of a serene meadow and creek.Inside the Cabin:Our tiny cozy cabin is thoughtfully designed to provide all the comforts of home. It features warm décor, with new furnishings and a well-equipped kitchen for your cooking needs.Main floor sleeping arrangements are a bedroom with new memory foam queen bed, and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. Up the loft steps, a twin bed is located in the "Eagles landing", with a new memory foam double bed in the bedroom. Please be aware that the stairs are quite steep and were not designed with railing. We recommend exercising caution when using them, especially for guests with mobility concerns, young children, or those who may be less sure-footed. Your safety and comfort are important to us, so please take care when choosing your sleeping arrangements.There is one bathroom with a shower downstairs, located off the kitchen. A small washer dryer is also available. Please note, these can accommodate only small loads of laundry. You'll find bath towels and smaller towels specifically for drying off after a relaxing soak in the hot tub. We've stocked quality shampoo, conditioner , and body wash, as well as some basic toiletries in case a guest forgets to bring an item.In the living room, the 55" TV streams Netflix, Hulu or any app on the Roku TV (you will need your own log in). The internet is provided by Starlink and is high speed! The queen bedroom also has a Roku TV, and a selection of board games, cards, and some children's activities are available below the TV.Outdoor Amenities:Relax and soak in the hot tub while watching the local wildlife in the meadow. Enjoy our fire pit area, complete with chairs and a fire pit with a grill grate—perfect for evening s'mores or grilling under the stars. Lounge in the double hammock, or challenge your friends to a friendly game of cornhole. We also provide extra camp chairs that you may take down to the creek. When exploring the field and creek area please look at boundary map in our pictures for property lines to respect our neighbors. Deer, turkey, rabbits and hawks are spotted daily, and our neighbors report occasional bear sightings.Firewood:For your convenience, we provide 6-8 pieces of firewood for your use during your stay. If you require additional firewood, we kindly ask that you bring your own or contact us. We offer the option to use more firewood for a small donation. Just let us know, and we'll be happy to accommodate your needs.Local activities:There are a multitude of local options for hiking, biking, and sight seeing. Along with the many beautiful scenic routes and music events, the famous town of Mayberry sits right below the blue ridge parkway 35 minutes from our cozy cabin. This historic town features a tour around the town in an Andy Griffith cop car and many shops downtown.Looking for wine or local beer? There are 12 wineries, 4 breweries/cideries/meaderies , and 1 distillery located anywhere from 10- 40 minutes from the cabin.There are great restaurants in Hillsville, Galaxy, and Fancy Gap.Or are you looking for more unique places to visit? Take a drive to The Puckett Cabin - historic milepost 190 on the Blueridge Parkway or Fancy Gap Pottery and Fabric Outlet (15 min drive). Looking for an authentic German dinner show? Head out to Wohlfahrt Haus dinner Show- Wytheville, VA (25 min ). We are in the perfect location to access many unique areas in Virginia and North Carolina. Travel to nearby Buffalo Mountain for a breathtaking Piedmont view hike, ride gravel or mountain bikes on the New River Trail (a 57-mile rail-to-trail starting in Galax, VA). Or, just sit on the covered porch that overlooks the creek from a distance, have a hot soak and listen to the quiet.Guidelines for your dog(s):We welcome up to two dogs and have no breed restrictions. There is a pet fee, so please ensure you include a pet to your booking if you plan to bring yours. For the safety of your furry friends and out of respect for our neighbors, we recommend that dogs remain leashed while outside.Please clean up your pet’s waste to keep the property nice for all guests. We provide bags. We encourage to not leave your pet on the property unattended. Dogs need to be crated if left(we do not have one on site yet). Make sure you have access to your vaccine records and be prepared to show them if requested.Dogs are not allowed on linens in cabin. PET FRIENDLY:Furry friend? No problem! Our cabin is dog-friendly for up to 2 dogs, and your furry companion will love roaming around the property (not fenced in). Please note that there is a pet fee to cover additional cleaning and wear and tear. FAST WIFI:The cabin has fast Starlink internet which can stream multiple devices. Cell service is very spotty in the area and many carriers lose service at the cabin. I suggest ensuring you have the ability to do WIFI calls on your device should you wish to stay connected. KITCHENETTE:- Mini refrigerator with small freezer- Keurig K-cup coffee maker- Toaster- Microwave- Induction burner- Crock pot- Air fryer - Egg cookerThere are dishes, glassware, pots and pans, cutting boards, bowls and utensils. We provide towels as well as shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand soap and toilet paper. There is a hair dryer in the vanity.HEATING/ COOLING:The cabin has no central air conditioning or heating. It is warmed with space heaters, a propane heater (in cooler months) and an electric fireplace. The space is only about ~400 sq feet but may be chilly upon arrival. Turn the heaters on upon arriving and please be mindful to turn them off when departing. The bedroom heats up once you shut the bedroom door so you may want to warm it up once you arrive. We provide some throw blankets to cozy up the space as it warms up as well. In the warmer months, a window AC unit in the bedroom keeps the sleeping area cool and comfy. SUPPLIES:We provide basic cleaning supplies and dish soap, as well as a starter kit of paper towels and toilet paper. Bed linens and towels are also provided, along with basic amenities such as hand soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. For longer stays, you may want to bring a few extra towels and toiletries.OTHER DETAILS:- The driveway is gravel and runs along the hillside to get to the cabin. If you're used to rural roads you may think nothing of it, but if it's your first time on the driveway, you may want to arrive in daylight to acclimate. It's not very long but it does slope at an incline to get down to the cabin from the main road. There is only parking for one vehicle and the parking space is just slightly larger than your average parking lot spot.- There is a second cabin on the property that shares the driveway which you'll see beyond this cabin. It is a separate space but there may be other guests at that cabin during your stay. There are dishes, glassware, pots and pans, cookie sheets, and utensils. We provide a starter kit of K-cups of coffee, coffee creamer, sugar, and sweetener as well as basic seasonings and cooking oil. There is a drip coffee maker in the cabinet should you wish to bring more coffee along. There are 4 chairs at the kitchen counter for dining (along with the outdoor dining table).BATHROOM:There is a full bath off the bedroom with a shower stall and a large soaking tub (note - there are jets in the tub which are currently not functioning). We provide towels as well as shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand soap. There is a hair dryer in the vanity as well as a clothes steamer which doubles as a dry iron.PET FRIENDLY:Furry friend? Electric fireplaces supplement the heat and provide some ambiance in the living room as well as provide heat to the bedroom. The full bath has a wall heater. One item to note - if the heat is on and you're not familiar with kerosene heat, you will notice a faint kerosene smell. For warmer months, there is an AC unit in the bedroom window to keep the space cool (typically from May - Sept).OUTSIDE:The deck wraps around the cabin on three sides of covered space to sit outside and enjoy the outdoors. There are rocking chairs which welcome you to relax and unwind, a dining table to enjoy outdoor meals and a glider to take in views of the creek. The deck is fully covered and has gates at both entrances so is a great spot for your furry friend to take in the surroundings as well. Don't worry about a rainy day ruining your visit - rain hitting the metal roof is equally relaxing as a sunny sky! Be one of the first to experience the relaxing barrel sauna out back. NOTE: There is a burn ban in effect for the county from 2/15 - 4/30 in which there is no burning allowed (campfires included) until AFTER 4pm (no rekindling allowed after midnight). Blue Ridge Retreat is a 3 bedroom/2bath log cabin located 1 mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Right in the heart of the Mountains. Blue Ridge Retreat has 2 beautiful decks on the front and back of the house. In the home you will find a clean, cozy atmosphere with all the amenities that you could possibly need. Fully stocked kitchen, Jacuzzi bathtub, dedicated workspace, yard for children to play in, gas grill, wifi, gas fireplace and so much more. Perfect for a couples retreat or for a family.Blue Ridge Retreat sits in a peaceful mountain community with nice roads to travel on and only sits one mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Our home has a huge front porch and a circle driveway that makes it easy to get in and out. On the back of the house you will fine a very large back deck with a patio swing, patio table and chairs and a gas grill (gas supplied). The yard is very nice and a great place for children to run and play. Our cabin has great windows that allow for lots of natural light which makes it even better. In the home you will find all the amenities that you could possibly need. The Kitchen: Fully stocked, cozy kitchen with stainless steel appliances and two different types of coffee makers and a beautiful table and chairs to have your meals at and make all those family memories. The kitchen has everything you would need to do any cooking that you wish while staying there. Just off of the kitchen is a sunroom with plenty of nature lighting that is set up for a dedicated workspace or a sitting room to sit and read a great book. Once you enter this room you will not want to leave. Just down the hallway from the kitchen is the laundry room closet. There you will find a washer and dryer that you are welcome to use at no additional cost. Livingroom: Just off the kitchen is the living room with plenty of seats for your whole family in the comfy furniture. Along with a gas fireplace and a New Smart Roku Tv.Master Bedroom:The master bedroom is located on the main floor and has its own attached bathroom with a jetted jacuzzi tub that you will for sure want to use and a walk in shower.The bedroom has a large walk in closet and a dresser so you have plenty of storage for your things. The master bedroom has a comfy queen size bed to sleep. The LOFT (2 bedroom): This home has so much natural light that it just makes you want to smile. This is my favorite room in the house. It is very cheery and the ambiance is happy. The loft has a regular staircase so it makes it easy access. This room is equipped with a dedicated workspace, a queen size bed, a dresser and a place to hang your clothes.3rd Bedroom: The third bedroom is located on the main floor with another bathroom just outside the room. This room is tastefully decorated has 2 closets, a dresser, a queen bed and a great place to do your makeup. I love this room. It has beautiful windows that are at the front of the house and the side of the house so you can really take in the nature scenery from the inside.
