It landed on the corner of an early 1900's granary. The owner chose not to repair it and allowed us to take it down for the salvaged lumber. You'll find that reclaimed lumber throughout the apartment. Wooden floors were reworked from the granary flooring. Wainscot, trim and wood ceilings were made from the siding. Shelves and benches that adorn the apartment were made from refashioned roofing boards. Table, work station and vanity tops were made from wall studs, beams and boards. Nail holes, knots and blemishes remain visible in the wood giving the finished pieces a unique and beautiful character.Building our Vacation Rental apartment using reclaimed wood, inspired us to start a "green" business. Used Anew is operated primarily on site. Guests can take a tour of our Show Home & Shoppe, just down the hill, to see many of the products and features we make from reclaimed wood and other materials.
