The Tabor House was constructed around 1895 and is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.  It has all the charm of a Victorian style home with modern amenities and located just two short blocks from downtown Wallace, Idaho.Although the home is not ADA compliant, there are only three short steps to enter the front of the home with a main floor bedroom. The second and third floors are accessible by stairways.THE MAIN FLOOR-has 1 bedroom with a king-sized bed and 37" flat screen TV with Roku. A USB rapid charger is located on the wall facing the backyard. The living room has a cozy gas fireplace with remote, a 50" flat screen with Roku and Netflix, a DVD player with a selection of DVDs, games, puzzles and a book exchange. A Wii game console is located next to the DVD for family gaming. A Shuffleboard table is now located in the dining room. A CD Jukebox with free play is located in the living room.There is a spacious and well supplied eat in kitchen with microwave, glass top range, dishwasher, and full size fridge/freezer with ice maker. There is a large formal dining room, full bath, washer, dryer and gas BBQ (located on the backyard patio area).  Just inside the back door entrance is a mud room to put your skis and boots. There is also a radio flyer wagon to pull the kids around town or to get groceries as well as bikes to ride. There is ample parking on the street. Additional covered parking for your motorcycles, ATVs, bicycles, vehicle, etc. can be found at the rear of the residence.We hope you will enjoy the beautiful front porch (our personal favorite).  Wave to the visitors on the trolley as it goes by or if you are lucky, watch the elk or moose traipse through town. THE SECOND FLOOR-offers 3 more bedrooms and a full bathroom.  Two rooms have queen-sized beds and one room has a double/full.  There are flat screen TVs (32") in all the bedrooms also with  Roku, and lots of closet space. These rooms also have USB rapid chargers located along the wall which are labeled for identification. THE THIRD FLOOR-Or attic has recently been finished with new carpet, drywall, paint, windows. Because we are big on safety, we installed emergency exit (egress) windows.There is also an emergency escape ladder located in a silver plastic storage container in the room. We like to think of this floor as great for the youth in your group as it has 4 single beds in private alcoves (thanks to the gabled ceiling), a bubble hockey machine, 32" flat screen with Roku, and a classic Nintendo console (remember those?) with games for their enjoyment.   This of course does not mean that adults would not find this area fun also!There are five security cameras located at the front, rear and side of the residence. The cameras are live and recording.We accept pets up to 50lbs with a limit of 2 furry family members. There is a one-time fee of $25.00. Seasonal recreation activities are also available! Try mountain biking beautiful Silver Mountain in the spring and summer and checking out the events during the nice weather! If you're more of a cold weather person, head up to the mountain for some fun on the slopes tubing, skiing or snowboarding! Or if you're in town checking out Dave Smith's cars, have a nice relaxing evening afterwards eating dinner at the bases restaurant, enjoying some spirits and following up with some time spent at the base's large communal fire pits or hot tubs. HISTORY & ARCHITECTURE: The Church House is a 2-bedroom vacation rental listed on the National Register of Historic Places in Wallace, Idaho. The building was originally a tiny chapel, built around 1905 to serve the local mining population. The main room features stained glass arched windows and vaulted barrel ceiling with a living area, long dining table, open kitchen, daybed reading nook, and old-time upright piano. Gorgeous! SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS: Two bedrooms flank the main room. The queen bedroom features French doors to the brick patio; the king bedroom features stained glass windows. Both rooms are cozy with comfy beds. There is a twin daybed in the living room. Additionally, there is a fold-out loveseat in the entry/vestibule area and a rollaway bed that can be placed anywhere (niether is great for Grandma or Grandpa, but ok for the kiddos!).BATHROOM: One small but cute bathroom, located next to the Queen room, has a shower, no tub. Towels and toiletries provided.LOCATION: Conveniently located across from the historic library right on the edge of the business core, it's a very easy walk to all the shops, restaurants, museums, tours, and pubs. It's also right across the way from the Couer D'Alene bike trail/river, and has easy highway access for the nearby Route of the Hiawatha bike trail, Lookout Pass Ski Resort, and Silver Mountain Ski Resort. It's super easy to find when you arrive, right on the main road into town. There's tons to do in Wallace, and staying at the Church House will put you in easy proximity to all of it.AMENITIES: The full kitchen is quirky since it used to be a coffee shop, but it has all you'll need to cook a meal, including a full sized fridge and stove/oven, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker and coffee, pots/pans, dishes, utensils, cooking oil and some spices, etc. It does only have one very small sink currently, and no dishwasher, so you might find it more convenient to eat out with lots of great options a very short walk away. There is also a washer and dryer that guests can use, and a cabinet full of board games -- plus a nice big table to play them on. The TV is on a rolling cart and can be moved to wherever you'd like to watch TV; it has an Amazon firestick for movies, shows, and music, plus a DVD player and a collection of DVDs. NEW in 2022: added a brand new furnace with central air conditioning! NEW in 2023: a gorgeous new shower! EXTERIOR SPACES: There is no backyard but there is a nice large brick patio on the front/side, with table and chairs to enjoy a glass of wine or morning coffee with mountain/forest views and the sound of the river (and yes, the occasional semi passing by on the highway -- unfortunately). PARKING is available on the street just steps from the door. Bikers may bring expensive bikes into the house if they'd like; there's room in the entry area to park them.SMOKING allowed outside away from all open doors and windows. Bikers can choose between the Route of the Hiawatha, riding lift-accessed trails at the ski resorts, and/or exploring the Trail of the Couer d’Alenes.The ground level was once Harwoods Drug Store, in fact you can still see and feel the bow in the floor where the clerk used to stand behind the cash register. It is now a massive great room with fourteen-foot ceilings with full-height windows that parallel the street front and adjacent park. The room is illuminated with string lights that hang from the original Mullan Fire Departments extension ladder and the floor is clad with 100-year-old native hardwood. The result is a breathtaking room where friends and family can comfortably enjoy quality time with one another. Positioned near the entry area, guests can make use of a variety gear storage, shelving and hangers.Beyond the entry, a large dining table and a cozy living area is positioned around a 70” curved television. Opposite the dining area sits a full bathroom with a washer and dryer. Above the bathroom there is a loft area with 50" smart TV and futon - perfect for kids! The fully-stocked kitchen sits adjacent to the dinning area and features a sleek island/breakfast bar with seats for four. Past the kitchen, guests can enjoy the ping pong table and a four-player arcade cabinet which is sure to keep the kids entertained! Seating along the windows provides a great atmosphere for board games, puzzles, and a morning coffee.The second level of the unit is the sleeping quarters. Atop the stairs, guests will find more gear storage and access to a full bathroom. Enter the hall to find a bunk room with four high-end twin beds on the left and a junior master with a king bed (attached to the full bath) on the right. Continue down the hall and two more king bedrooms are revealed. At the end of the hall a den area with a thick comfortable futon, a dedicated work space and a gas fireplace that provides a warm comfortable setting to wind down after the day.There are 4 smart TV's in the building. All have FREE Netflix and you're welcome to sign into your own streaming services. There is no cable or satellite. The living room has a 70" curved Smart TV. The loft has a 50" Smart TV. The upstairs living room has a 50" Smart TV.
