"Spacious room, even with 2 x double beds, still have lots of spaces to walk around, a small kitchen with microwave, coffee machine, 3-seated sofa and also a proper office desk for work ! Amazing setting!
Buffet b’fest with lots of selection, even a chef there be there making omelet ! Details as having take-away cups for guests to bring back their coffee or tea ! Very caring!
Also 24x7 airport shuttle bus service, very good services."

"We stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel is pretty nice, clean and the design is very good. The common space is quite cozy and good to hang out with friends or work (from anywhere).
All staff are very welcoming, friendly, and polite. We booked the room with breakfast included. The breakfast has an entree with a drink. The taste of the breakfast is quite good. The public parking is quite close, but the exit of the parking is on the other side of the road.
The only downside of this stay is there were a bit loud noise in both mornings from the street, sounds like from the car/truck loadings (I'm not sure). The sound started from around 6.30am ish, which is a bit too early for us.
Anw, overall we are pretty happy staying at The Union Hotel. "

"I stayed here for a quick overnight layover and found it super convenient, especially the shuttle that runs every 30 minutes. The staff were incredibly friendly and patient, which I really appreciated after a long international journey.
The room was clean and comfortable, though the shower area felt a bit like a hockey locker room. I’m not sure if I was put in an accessible room. As someone who lives in Asia, I’m used to hotels offering a few small amenities like a dental kit, slippers, or at least a bottle of water in the room — none of those were provided, so that was a bit of a surprise.
Still, the overall experience was great for the price and convenience. I’d definitely stay again for a short airport stopover."

"Excellent location in downtown , the staff were friendly and helpful. the room is clean. We booked 2 double bed room, both of the beds were not  very comfortable because the sides we were sleeping on seemed to be tilted downwards."

"Stayed on the 5th floor of the hotel room with the bedroom facing an office space. As a result, would need to draw the curtain if privacy is needed. There were some road construction or renovations going on in the early morning (around 5am) near the office block and the construction noise can be heard from the room.
Requested for a kettle, and the kettle provided has a lot of calcific deposits at the base of the kettle."

This hotel added to our experience in Toronto and we will definitely stay here again when we return.

GGästanvändareI was initially apprehensive about staying in an ”old” hotel, but my worries came to rest. It was similar to a cottage theme with very clean rooms and adequate amentities. Staff were always very friendly, greeting us everytime we leave and return to the hotel, and responds promptly to our housekeeping requests. 10 minutes from the hotel, there is a park with a calming stream, a great place to rest and rewind from the busy city life. Nearest train station is just 5 minutes walk away, and a 30-45 minutes car ride to downtown. Some downsides though, there are no nearby restaurants besides the one in the hotel, and no nearby supermarkets. Utensils were not provided in the room so be prepared to bring your own set. Hotel lifts seem a bit worn out but had not broken down during my stay. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay given the calm surrounding vibes and amazing service. I would consider returning in the future

GGästanvändareWas very tired wanted a little rest from home, asked for late check out to catch up on sleep. Regular check out is 11:00 AM we were granted 12:30 PM. At 9:15 AM housekeeping was on the floor banging doors very loud, speaking loudly and knocking on doors while guests were not ready to leave. They had a fire drill and that came with audio music like in the room was very loud and unpleasant. First time experiencing this maybe it’s a protocol.

GGästanvändareThe hotel is ideally situated of the front of the lake with the ferries to the islands just outside. An underground stop is just across the road with links to Union station and elsewhere. There are also a selection of buses that pass and a hop on hop off stop is about 10 mins walk. You can walk most places in central Toronto from hotel if you wish and are happy walking. You can choose which street suits you best on your walk and change route for variation as only a block apart and will all get you to central Toronto. You are maybe about 15 mins from the Blue Jays and CN tower so hotel is in a great location. Billy Bishop airport is about a 20 min walk and would be convenient if you can get flights to or from there to your destination. The communal areas in the hotel look very nice, as is the entrance if being dropped off by car. However there is work going on around the outside of the hotel and if walking to and from the hotel it isn’t so pleasant on the eye. My bedroom was spacious but felt dated and would be nice to see a more updated look. However the view onto the lake more than made up for that minor irritation. The staff were all great and helpful when asked. There was various things going on from regular activities in the leisure area to free ice cream and wine ( not together unfortunately ) and music in the afternoon. The leisure facilities were great with a pool, sauna, steam room and gym as well as an outside area (5th floor) for sitting outside while the kids could play. There was a tennis court and a basket ball hoop. There was also an oppertunity to use cycles and go for a run possibly with a guide. We didn’t eat at the hotel so couldn’t comment but the did have a restaurant on the top of there south tower that would give great views. We did grab a coffee and snack from across the street and would enjoy sitting on the benches just along from the hotel looking into the lake in the morning. All in all one of the older hotels ( I think) in a great location with great views and facilities which met our needs.

Location was a short walk from Union Station & therefore very handy if using the UP express shuttle from the airport into Toronto centre. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the staff were all very friendly and nothing was too much trouble! We only had 3 towels in the room, despite 4 guests, but we spoke to reception and an extra towel was immediately provided.
The breakfast was absolutely brilliant - the choice of both hot and cold food was impressive, including french toast with strawberries rotated with waffles and pancakes plus sausages and bacon, eggs, etc. Lots of choice of fruit - fruit medley pots, ones with greek yoghurt, fruit smoothies, etc. A great selection of pastries too.
Highly recommend this hotel!

GGästanvändareThe location is great, among shops and restaurants. The lobby is quite small, with only a couple of couches to sit. There is a restaurant and bar in the restaurant as well, with tables and chairs but the division is not as clear between what is lounge area for hotel guests and restaurant seatings. We were waiting for our room to be serviced and my husband sat at a table to do some work on the labtop and only about 20% of the restaurant had customers with the remaining tables empty. He was approached by a couple of waitstaff and he explained that he's there to do some work and didn't want to order any food. At which point, a manager approached him and asked him to move to the sofa area and not occupy a table and he did and then the manager approached him again, asking what room are we staying in as well as other details. There's not much work/lounge space in the area at all. I feel that they could have let him sit at a table, considering many of the tables were not occupied. I've seen people sit there on a previous day with their laptops and not order anything. So it was kind of unpleasant that that happened. Also, our room had absolutely no natural light, which made it very depressing. I don't know if I would recommend this hotel for a stay in Toronto.
