"The hotel was in 5 minutes walking from Zermatt train station and it offered free shuttle for check in and out as there was a steep path to the hotel entrance, not good to walk with luggages. I booked 2 bedrooms family suite but only with one bathroom which was the downside. However, the total space of 60 meter sq with a decent living room and a small balcony facing Matterhorn were a plus to the overall stay. There were some minor defects and the staff fixed efficiently. They had an indoor pool, a jacuzzi and a sauna room. I had to mention that the jacuzzi was of high standard and you must go after a day of hiking. So bring your swimming suit. However, please note that in there culture, no clothes are allowed to enter the sauna room and it is in mixed genders. The breakfast buffet was lack of choices. But I had to specially name Mr Fernando, he always welcome us with very good coffee and of course his warm greetings in the morning.
Suggestion to the hotel:
1. Stated clearly the number of bathroom/ toilet in the booking details regarding my booking is a 2 bedrooms suite.
2. More choices for breakfast, my family stays 4 nights there. Everyday, the menu is same.
3. The pool was closed at 8pm, will be better if it closes at 9pm as it was rather rush for the guests to use after dinner.
Overall, I recommend this hotel to family. I will come back again."

"Beautiful hotel!! Even though hotel was a few streets away from the station BUT free shuttle service is available. Hotel service was so good including free consultation on activity planning in Zermatt. Would definitely go back to this hotel if I’m coming back to Zermatt in future!!"

"Hotel is approximately 10mins walk from Zermatt train station. There is a bus stop to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise cable car station about 4mins away from the hotel, very convenient. The hotel gave us a free upgrade during our stay and the view from the balcony was amazing! The pool and sauna facility looked great but didnt had a chance to try. Highly recommend this hotel going to Zermatt!"

"Lovely stay! Got the matterhorn view suite and it was so beautiful! The receptionist was also very helpful with guiding us with what we can do at Zermatt!
However, need to take note that their reception will only be there till 10pm. It’s actually stated but I didn’t read it so when I arrived Zermatt train station at 11pm, I panicked a little. We flag down the taxi at my own cost, 18chf for 3 people and luggages, they dont provide free taxi after 10pm. Also, the entrance door will be closed/locked after 10pm, we rang the bell and the door opened and they left the key with a letter on the counter for the check in.
The breakfast place is also overlooking the Matterhorn and it’s so pretty. Stayed for only 1 night but really enjoyed my stay there!"

"1.這家酒店在半山腰上，有接送班車，但是晚上7點就下班了，酒店入住提示上根本沒説這一點，衹寫了班車免費，我們以為一直有班車接送，那天坐火車到了後9.30了，酒店説沒有班車了，公交也下班了，導航看步行17分鐘左右，結果，全是爬坡路，累個半死，半路上又不好打車了，累吐，全家大半夜的推着行李，累的滿頭大汗，冒椒火辣，心情糟糕透了
2.酒店分明預訂成功，但還有兩天就要入住的時候，沒有任何通知，就説信用卡扣款失敗，並且滿房，還好攜程在這一點做的非常好，幾次溝通才又讓代理商放了一間房出來，這裏必須誇獎攜程
3.酒店前台人員還是比較好，出發那天我們去玩滑翔傘，主動提出到點把行李幫我們送到火車站，不用我們再返回取行李"

"The hotel is perfect. At first when I look at the photos, I thought it would be a cozy small wooden room which is a little bit worn out. But no! Everything is so new and clean. The location is perfect! Center of everything! Breakfast got a wide range of choices too. Staff are nice. One downside of the hotel is that for me, the pillow is wayyy too flat. I have to put the towels from the bathroom under the pillow. Other than that, perfect!"

CCalitosVi kom hit utan att ha mycket information om detta hotell, men deras gästfrihet från personalen var verkligen bra.Jag kände att jag stannade 5+star hotell från deras vänlighet.
Plockade upp med hotellbil, gratis bastu, gratis att använda minibar, stor balkongsutsikt med tanke på kostnaderna för att stanna, och tog oss också till stationen igen när vi lämnade.
Jag rekommenderar starkt detta hotell, och det finns också syster hotell som heter Hotel Daniela förmodligen också bra gissar från min erfarenhet från Hotel Chesa Valese.
Hoppas allt är bra för hotellfamiljen och personalen.
Vi har verkligen haft det trevligt att stanna där.

IIzzaPizzaThoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel! The excellent service rendered by the staff made our honeymoon much sweeter. Everyone was friendly, kind and always willing to help. Room was really nice and the extra sauna and open concept bathtub was a nice surprise! Breakfast spread was super delicious as well. Facilities like the wellness area include foot bath, infrared chairs, jacuzzi etc.

HHarmonickFor a truly memorable stay in Zermatt, look no further than the Traditional Julen Hotel. We travelled throughout Switzerland, and the view from our Matterhorn room was hands down the best we experienced. Waking up to that iconic peak every morning was simply breathtaking.
The service at the Julen is impeccable. The staff is incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to meet every need we had, making us feel truly welcome. Speaking of needs, be sure to grab a bite at their downstairs restaurant. The food is excellent, though the space is a little on the cozy (some might say claustrophobic) side. Don't let that deter you, though - the culinary experience is well worth it.
Overall, the Traditional Julen Hotel is a fantastic choice. Splurge on the Matterhorn room for an unforgettable view, and rest assured knowing you'll be taken care of by a truly exceptional team. Highly recommended!

The room was tastefully decorated, with a comfortable bed, excellent house cleaning services. Provide personal skincare product, especially the sheep soap that I love it ! Breakfast was also excellent.

JJoeyyynggLocation was really convenient and was just a 5-8 min walk from the main train station with a supermarket just 3 min away. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful too! The hotel provides free laundry and dryer for all guests and that was really helpful as it was the last few days of our holiday and we had a bunch of clothes to wash 😮💨

CcathymancatI love the philosophy of this hotel, sustainable development and zen! The staff is very friendly and give me good suggestions all the time! The sourdough from the bakery is extremely nice. I love their pizza, cinnamon rolls and cookie! The grill room provide delicious meat and wine! The breakfast is super yummy! The room is very cozy and warm! I love the rainforest shower, the furniture and the books! The spa centre and the garden make me relax! I will come back and recommend to everyone!

Nestled high above Zermatt, the Riffelhaus 1853 is accessible via the Gornergrat railway, making the journey itself an adventure. Once you arrive, you’re greeted by panoramic mountain views in every direction, with the iconic Matterhorn standing proudly in front of you. The setting is perfect for ski-in/ski-out access in winter and stunning hiking trails in summer.
Rooms – 9/10
The rooms are cozy, modern, and well-equipped while still maintaining a classic Swiss alpine charm. Many rooms come with Matterhorn views, and waking up to this scenery is an experience in itself. The beds are comfortable, and the rustic wooden decor gives a warm, welcoming feel. Some rooms have balconies, which I highly recommend booking for the full experience.
Service – 9/10
The staff is friendly, professional, and attentive. Despite the hotel’s remote location, the service is top-notch, with staff going out of their way to accommodate special requests. From seamless check-in to helpful local recommendations, they make the stay even more special.
Dining – 8.5/10
The on-site restaurant serves delicious Swiss cuisine, including traditional dishes like fondue and rösti. The breakfast is generous, featuring fresh bread, cheeses, meats, and eggs cooked to order. The only downside is that, due to the remote location, dining options are limited to the hotel restaurant, but the quality makes up for it.
Wellness & Spa – 10/10
The outdoor hot tub with a view of the Matterhorn is an absolute highlight! There’s also a sauna and steam bath, perfect after a day of skiing or hiking. Soaking in the warm water while surrounded by snow-capped peaks is an experience worth every penny.
Activities – 10/10
Winter: Perfect for skiing, as the hotel is directly on the slopes. The ski room is convenient, and the access to the Gornergrat ski area is unbeatable.
Summer: Incredible hiking trails with direct access to the Gornergratbahn for easy excursions to higher altitudes.

FFinalLinkMy wife and I were on a honeymoon trip and booked Hotel Albatros. The front desk was really nice and helpful and provided us with two glasses of champagne. They left some nice surprise in the room. The room was clean and quiet. It has a huge balcony that links the same floor.
The shuttle bus is 10 franc per room per trip.
It is located in between the bahnhof and the Paradise Cablecar. Both about 10-15 mins away. All in all loved it.

NNYTravelsWe love the hotel and wished we could have stayed longer. The view from the balcony of our room gave us a clear view of the Matterhorn. The hotel is easily accessible from the Zermatt train station and the Town centre .
We loved the room allocated and found it extremely comfortable. We also enjoyed the sumptuous breakfast buffet which was pretty extensive.
Staff was really pleasant and helpful at all time. Our receptionist even escorted us to the room by stairs because their lift was not functional when we checked in.
The only regret was that we were unable to utilise the sauna and swimming pool facilities due to time constraints.
Will highly recommend the hotel to those who are looking for value for money stays whilst in Zermatt.
