Hitta 4-stjärniga hotell i Split

This is an intimate 5-room establishment situated amidst the alleys of the Old Town, hence cars cannot drop passengers at the doorstep. Easy enough to catch a shuttle bus for EUR 8 from the airport to the bus station at the port, from which a Makarun staff will meet you and assist you with your luggage to the hotel, a 10-minute walk away. Breakfast is a la carte, as is to be expected for such a small establishment, comprising 3 courses - pastry/toast, eggs of your choice with cold cuts, and a dessert, complemented by tea coffee and/or juice. Food was more than adequate in terms of quantity and quality. My room was comfortable enough, though 2 issues were noticeable: * Instead of a flat cotton bed sheet, there was a fitted sheet made of what seemed like jersey, and looked more like a mattress protector.This was pilled and coarse, in contrast to the far smoother cotton quilt cover. When I brought this to the attention of the staff they explained that this is standard for the hotel. Whilst it did not affect the quality of my sleep, the coarseness of the sheet wasn't entirely pleasant * In the bathroom, the shower was mounted at waist height, hence one either had to hold the shower in one hand, or, if there was a need to use both hands to wash, then one would have to crouch under the shower while it was in its holder. Not particularly convenient. Overall a comfortable stay in a convenient location, enhanced by the friendly and solicitous Ivan and Mario.

Good location in the palace area, but it could be very confused because the hotel has different annex which is couple minutes walk apart. And it could be difficult to find the location of the annex, for the one I stay in named Villa Donbric couldn’t be find in Google map. Besides, since we have couple of large luggages, we look for hotel with elevator but the annex I stayed didn’t facilitated one. (I am not sure the other annex has one or not) The room is smaller than I expected, it’s a bit messy when we open up two luggage together. Other than that, it’s a cozy place to stay with helpful staff. The breakfast is served and good, with different options of eggs. I suggest extra attention is better when booking the hotel about the location and concern with luggages. Or I will suggest booking their optional pick up service.

The room was stunning and very clean. We were fortunate to have the room with a south facing balcony, which was a heat trap. It is situated in a very central area with lots of shops, bars, and restaurants near by. The things which let the room down was the bang average speed WiFi, that once several folk throughout the hotel were on went pretty slow, which is sometimes the case. The TV brand is Grundig, which I never heard of and is not got any smart settings. There is an option to project your phone/ipad to it. The only issue is if the Internet is slow then it sometimes won't recognise... Get new TVs! Communication could be improved, the gentlemen who checked us in said to contact him with any queries, I did so and had no reply. They could do with a system to drop off used towels and collect new clean towels from the reception area of the hotel. Hopefully this constructive feedback will be acted on as it is minors things as mentioned above that are lowering the overall experience for fellow guests.

This was a rushed booking due to our original hotel not having our booking. Normally I spend considerable time going through reviews etc, but with the Azur Palace (hotel?) it was a case of needs must. Unfortunately although we had booked a deluxe double in our opinion it didn’t match similar 4 star hotel deluxe rooms. I mentioned this to reception but they weren’t really interested. Appreciate we were virtually in the centre of split, with space at a premium, but the view of a small alley with graffiti an empty minibar, not even plugged in, an irritating dim light, I think from the a/c that ensured the room wasn’t completely dark. After trying to close it down without success I went to reception, which had a note with a phone number to call. I gave up went back to the room and tried throwing a towel over it. Also no bar, although there are a few within couple of minutes. Overall disappointing.

Excellent location right in the centre of great restaurants and the tourism hotspots. The room and bathtub are great. Good wifi and television box for plenty of viewing options. Rooftop garden/outdoor area is amazing at sunset (see attached photos). A couple of things to prepare yourself for which are out of the control of the hotel owners: there are 90 steps to the floor where the rooms are so would not recommend if you are physically challenged, and the restaurants in the square do have music till quite late which is audible in the rooms so light sleepers may like to try ear plugs. Sound did not bother us and the walk up the stairs was good for our health! The whole of the city has bell ringing at various times during the day (7am, Midday, 8pm) No need to set an alarm to wake up in the morning!

Pro - very close to the Golden Gate and is easy to find. Check in is straightforward. The room is on the first floor above ground so it wasn't the most difficult thing to lift our luggages up. Con - (1) the actual room looks nothing like the pictures online. The online pictures (taken with wide lens mode) show the room to be much larger and brighter, whereas the room is in fact very small and relatively poorly lit. For one, the bed is literally two footsteps away from the door, and we were struggling to find space to open our luggages. (2) One of the beds in the room is in fact a sofa bed, but the property did not declare this when we booked. We spent a lot of time trying to book places which do not use sofa beds but actual beds, and so we can't help but feel that we were misled and misrepresented to. (3) There is a bit of noise. The property is right next to the road and near a pub with some rowdy youths at times. (4) Facilities are minimal. There is only one chair, and the table is very small. Everything else is basic. Nothing luxurious about it despite its name and the photos. (5) There is no lift at the property. We would not have chosen this property if we had a second chance.

Bra läge, utsikten var fantastisk och rummet var rent och fina möbler! - Personalen var väldigt frånvarande och man behöver en nyckel för att komma in på hotellet och in på rummet. Vi glömde vår nyckel i vårt rum och insåg efter middagen runt 23.00 och trots att personalen borde vara på hotellet till 03.00: ingen var där. Vi var tvungna att kontakta oss via telefon men eftersom vi är kanadensare hade vi ingen fungerande telefon. Vi höll nästan på att sova utomhus. Vi fick hjälp av grannrestaurangen. - Personalen skulle börja om igen klockan 07.00; vi gick därifrån klockan 08.00 utan att checka ut eftersom det återigen inte fanns någon. - Min dotters EarPods blev stulna i vårt rum. Vi kunde hitta dem med Apple-appen och se exakt var de var. Återigen fanns ingen personal alls på hotellet som kunde berätta för dem att städpersonalen hade stal dem. (Vi är 100 % SÄKRA på att de var stulna eftersom de inte lämnade rummet, vi tog aldrig med oss elektronik någonstans och platsen de var på låg 7 km från hotellet där vi aldrig hade varit.) - De erbjuder ångstrykningstjänst, jag ville använda den men de sa att det tog en vecka att få tillbaka mina kläder... vi var där i fyra dagar. Personalen erbjöd sig att ta med en ångstrykningsmaskin till mitt rum så att jag kunde göra det själv. De tog aldrig med den... - Det fanns en vacker terrass på fjärde våningen men vi fick reda på det bara vår sista kväll. - Vi ville gå till en strand och personalen sa att det var en 45 minuters promenad och att det var enda sättet att gå. Vi gick. Till slut när vi kom dit... kunde vi ta en kundvagn för 3 euro.... Vi tog den för att komma tillbaka. -

Miljön är vanlig.

Location is near Old Town and Diocletians Palace. Rooms are large and bathrooms are great. Beds are comfortable. Staff are lovely. Only down side was a horrible smell of sewerage coming into the bathoom. We had to change rooms due to it, then in the next room, leave the exhaust fan on constantly. Staff say it happens when wind is blowing.
