"We had a very solid stay at Hotel Grifone. A pretty large, comfortable, and clean room, with a balcony even. It was a bit of a hassle to get to our room (2 different elevators/staircases separated by a hallway), but on our first trip to the room, a staff member showed us the way, which was a nice touch. We also really appreciated the free flavored waters and teas/snacks/mimosas provided in the lobby - was a lovely surprise. The hotel is in a very residential area, so it's pretty quiet at night. Does take around 25 minutes by bus to get there from the old town area, but they came relatively regularly (the signs posted on the stops were hit-or-miss on accuracy - the buses usually ran late). Signora Helena on the breakfast team was truly the sweetest person we met during our entire 2 week trip around the country of Italy. She always greeted us with a smile and provided excellent service (remembering that we have yogurt every morning and bringing it to us without us asking by the third day of our stay, checked in about what coffee we wanted, and more!). We really loved her, and it made our mornings brighter to see her! The front desk staff were all excellent as well! Super professional and answered questions about Florence and the hotel with ease."

"Very good experience. The service is very good. The front desk staff is very friendly. Because we are on our honeymoon, they helped us upgrade to a suite. Although it is in the downtown area, the windows are three layers, so the room is very quiet. The room is clean and tidy. Although it is an old hotel, the facilities are not old. The breakfast variety is not very large, but the quality is very good. It is a very worthwhile hotel."

"We had a great stay at this hotel in Florence. The family suite was spacious with a smart layout that offered privacy and comfort, which made it perfect for our friends’ group. Breakfast was included and had a good variety of options each morning. The location is also excellent — close to the train station and just a short walk from Florence city center. There are plenty of mini markets nearby where we could easily grab snacks and water. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the room was clean and well-maintained. Overall, it was a smooth and pleasant experience, and I would definitely recommend this hotel."

"The hotel is located near Central Station, just a 5-10 minute walk away. Across a small path from the hotel is the Central Market, and it takes about 20 minutes on foot to reach the Florence Cathedral (Duomo), the historic old town, and the museum. The rooms are clean and quiet. Highly recommended!"

"Excellent accomodation for the money and value. Rooms are newish and super clean with a modern feel. Directly opposite SMN station makes it fantastic as a base in Florence as centre storico is a few minutes walk away as well as being right next to SMN cathedral itself. Plenty of good food around as well as a carrerfour express. Rooms importantly were also quiet so I was able to sleep well. Aircon worked superbly and shower pressure was excellent. I loved that the bathroom had a window so you could let air in and out, except it usually meant letting in mosquitoes too so it was best left closed."
