"We had a beach front villa, the villa was lovely, felt like home from the moment we walked in, lots of space and a kitchen area, and a washing machine which was lovely to get some washing done before we continued travelling. Right on the beach, which was so peaceful. Unfortunately our villa didn’t have sun lounger in the sun like the others on the beach, when I asked if I could move one from the pool area, if was a very brutal blunt no, which really effected our stay, as we had nowhere to bask in the sun. If you are looking for a 4/5 star then this is not the place for you. The accommodation and location is ideal, but no service provided at all, no cleaning of the room, you had to ask for fresh towels and toilet roll, and the bins were never emptied. We felt like we were not very welcome, even at breakfast it felt like they didn’t really want you there. A smile, quick chat, and a bit of service goes a long long way. 100% only a 3 star if not 2 star because of the lack of service, more like a lovely beachfront self catering glamping pod. It’s a 3.5 km walk to the main town, which is buzzing, but there are pubs and restaurants along the whole road, to stop in for refreshments. Very relaxing place, apart from the staff bickering and arguing."

"We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would definitely come back. The location is great – you can easily rent a scooter directly from the hotel at a good price. If you prefer walking, it takes about 20 minutes downhill to reach the lively area with lots of restaurants, bars, and shopping options. Our villa with sea view was absolutely beautiful and worth it. The view was stunning, the room was very clean, and housekeeping came every day. Breakfast was tasty and had everything you need, even though it wasn’t very varied. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend this hotel. We will definitely book it again on our next visit to Koh Tao."

"My stay at Explorar Hotel was amazing, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for great value for money. The staff are very welcoming and truly focused on creating a special experience. Everything from check-in to check-out was seamless. The hotel has a beautiful jungle vibe, and the rooms are spacious, clean, and very comfortable. I especially appreciated the complimentary minibar and the fresh drinking water provided daily. The pool area is lovely, and the private beachfront is perfect for watching stunning sunsets. The restaurant is also excellent, slightly on the pricier side, but both Thai and Western dishes are delicious. I stayed here solo, and most guests were couples, which is something to keep in mind. Overall, I can highly recommend staying here."

"Eine absolute Empfehlung!!! Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr gut. Die Nachtmärkte, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind unter 10 Minuten mit dem Roller erreichbar. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit direktem Meerblick aus dem Bett. Die Sauberkeit hat deutschen Standard. Darüber hinaus wurde jeden Tag der Pool, sowie der Hauseigenen Strand gesäubert. Das Bett war auch sehr bequem und groß (ohne Ritze). Es stand kostenlos Trinkwasser zu Verfügung. Das WLAN hat sehr gut funktioniert auch am Strand. Man kann einen sehr guten Roller an der Rezeption für nur 200 Baht/Tag mieten. Am Abreisetag wurden wir auch noch kostenlos vom Hotel zum Hafen gebracht. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!"

"Came with my girlfriend on a diving trip for 6 nights at the koh Tao cabana. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Take advantage of the free paddle boards and kayaks if you can. Super nice area on the beach all reserved for this resort. The breakfast was also very nice and loved the Thai options as well as the western food options. The rooms can be individual cabanas on a hillside so it is a little bit of a walk up but this didn’t bother us. We would stay here again and very happy with our experience. "Bodde här i juli. Koh Tao är inte i regnperioden då, men vi stötte på monsunvindar och det var väldigt blåsigt och vågigt. **Läge:** Hotellet ligger på öns sydöstra del. Förutom den västra stranden, som är relativt platt på Koh Tao, har alla stränder och vikar på öst-, nord- och sydsidan mycket kuperad terräng. Hotell är oftast byggda längs bergssluttningarna, vilket innebär att man får gå uppför och nedför backar för att ta sig till och från rummen. Här är det väldigt lugnt och fridfullt. Det finns inte mycket service att tillgå i närområdet, och förutom hotellgäster och båtar med dagsturister för snorkling, är det inte mycket folk. Hotellet har en restaurang med god mat. Stekt ris, stekta nudlar och hamburgare kostar mellan 40-50 RMB och kan levereras till rummet. **Rummet:** Vi bokade standardrummet. Badrummet var inte så praktiskt utformat; det saknades separation mellan vått och torrt, och det fanns ingen ventilationsfläkt. Men rummet var rent, AC:n och varmvattnet fungerade bra, och Wi-Fi-signalen var stark. Faciliteterna är något slitna, men för Koh Tao är det nog ganska bra. **Snorkling:** Hotellet har två snorklingsplatser. På ena sidan finns en stenig strand där man direkt kommer ut bland stora stenar och koraller när man går i vattnet. Snorklingen är utmärkt där, med koraller, jättemusslor och en mängd olika fiskar. På den andra sidan finns en sandstrand, men när man går i vattnet är det direkt grunt med korallstenar. Det är fullt av sjögurkor där. Det grunda området är mycket långt, och det är för svårt att vada ut till det djupare vattnet för att snorkla, man riskerar att skära sig på fötterna hela tiden. Vi rekommenderar att man snorklar med långärmad tröja, långbyxor och vattenskor för att undvika skärsår. **Transport:** Det bästa sättet att ta sig till och från hotellet är med motorcykel eller att beställa en taxi via hotellet. Att köra motorcykel kräver mycket skicklighet. Om du inte är en van förare, rekommenderas det starkt att inte köra motorcykel på Koh Tao. Vägförhållandena och infrastrukturen är mycket dåliga, och backar med upp till 60-70 graders lutning är normen. **Frukost:** Restaurangen ligger vid stranden, och det kan vara ganska tröttsamt att gå upp och ner för backarna för att äta. De erbjuder kinesisk (gröt, bao, wokade rätter), västerländsk och thailändsk mat. Utbudet är ganska varierat och det finns små variationer varje dag. Överlag är vi ganska nöjda med hotellet. Man kan njuta av fantastisk snorkling, bada i poolen, och frukosten är både riklig och god. För en extremt varm ö, där det är skönast att tillbringa dagarna i vattnet, är detta ett utmärkt val."

"I was very excited to stay at this hotel. The room had a wonderful atmosphere, and I was fortunate to receive a room with a high ceiling, which made the space feel even more spacious and airy. The room was also very clean. The only downside was that after spending some time in the room or using the bathroom, a strong sewage odor began to come from the drain. Even with the toilet lid closed, the smell was still quite unpleasant. In terms of transportation, everything was very convenient. You can contact the lobby to arrange transfers around Koh Phangan (for an additional fee). Guests can also access the swimming pool and certain services at other hotels within the same group (additional charges may apply), which makes getting around easier and adds more activities to enjoy. As for the breakfast buffet, there was a wide variety of options available. However, most of the dishes were quite cold, likely because they had been left out for some time. Only the egg station served freshly cooked and warm food."

"Отель расположен практически в джунглях и вид из номера просто потрясающий! Номера не очень новые, но имеется все необходимое. Качество уборки среднее, персонал почти не говорит по-английски, но с переводчиком проблем не было. Отель находится немного в отдалении от основной дороги на горе, но до ближайших магазинов ехать на байке не более 3х минут. Мы брали байк сразу по прибытию с парома, в районе пирса, поэтому с транспортной доступностью проблем не испытывали."

"We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location is great, but you need a scooter or car to get around. Scooters can be rented directly at the hotel (a bit more expensive), and there is also a transfer service – the first ride is free, any further rides are charged. The hotel is beautiful and very well maintained, with stylish rooms and a fantastic rooftop pool offering amazing views. The staff are very friendly and helpful, which made us feel very welcome. We didn’t have breakfast, so we can’t comment on that. The only downside was the noise – it’s quite easy to hear other guests in the hallways and rooms, and doors were often slammed shut, which was disturbing at times. Overall, a lovely hotel with great facilities and friendly staff. We would recommend it despite the noise."
