Pool is open! M’walimu (“Teacher” in Swahili) is a remote and secluded house in the hill country with multiple expansive libraries. Located at High Hope Ranch, this space is ideal for those seeking retreat from busy city life, to host large family gatherings, or to unwind and reconnect with nature. M’walimu consists of two dwellings connected by a covered walkway, each with two bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms, includes a private deck and pool.Mwalimu consists of two separate houses connected by an outdoor breezeway. In between them sits a pool and extensive outdoor deck with propane grill, seating, and hill country views. The main house has a full-sized, well-equipped kitchen and a dining table for 10. The deck offers plenty of outdoor seating and a propane grill for guests to use. The living room is filled with art, books, roku TV, and a wood-burning stove. Bedroom 1: The primary suite has its own sunny library, private desk area, king-sized bed, and a large bathroom with a walk-in shower and meditation bay. Bedroom 2: The second bedroom is located upstairs, with 2 double beds, a private work nook, and a full bathroom. Laundry room with a washer and dryer downstairs. The second house, known as the "Sanctuary", has 2 bedrooms, each with a queen bed, spacious closet, and private bath with a walk-in shower. The bedrooms are separated by sliding Japanese-style wood and opaque glass sliding doors. Please note they provide visual privacy but are not entirely soundproof. The all-glass, west-facing wall of the sanctuary offers a sweeping view of the pool and valley beyond. The gathering area in the Sanctuary has a small kitchenette-two mini-fridges, sink, microwave, tea kettle, small blender, a toaster oven, a coffee cart with a drip coffee maker, and a comfortable living room. The upstairs loft is yet another library/reading area and can be used for extra sleeping space (single pallets/pads provided). There is also space for queen airbeds (if requested) downstairs. We have had guests host up to 75 people in the living area for dinners and other special gatherings-please inquire for special events! The pool can be accessed from both Mwalimu and the Sanctuary. Ranch staff make unobtrusive visits for daily maintenance during swimming season, the pool is covered during the winter. The rates are for 8 people, extra overnight guests are $50 per person, per night plus tax. This newly updated and remodeled modern 2 bed, 2 bath farmhouse on 3 acres offers THE PERFECT get-away for couples, families, friends or business partners. The property is a pet paradise that is fully fenced. (RENTERS MUST INDICATE THEY WILL BE BRINGING A PET DURING THE BOOKING PROCESS. A required $50 pet fee will be charged.) The property’s grounds offer a seasonal creek, firepit area, plunge pool (in season), large back deck with seating, tree swings, outdoor games such as Corn Hole and Connect Four and loads of room to roam. You might even be inclined to get in that daily walk or jog around the property! The back deck and firepit area are great spaces for grilling up burgers or steaks on the propane grill and gathering for a meal or drinks. Grab the provided long-handled forks to roast marshmallows or hotdogs over the open fire in the fall or winter! Firewood provided seasonally. The usual twice daily (morning and evening) visit from our neighborhood deer friends are always a treat and fun to watch gather 'round the feeder at the creek. Be sure to grab the binoculars for an even closer look! Rustic barn doors, shiplap, concrete countertops and fun decor accents offer a quaint farmhouse feel. Let the master bedroom with king bed, dresser and flat screen TV and new addition master bath be a place of relaxation and renewal. The 2nd bedroom also features a comfy king bed and attached full bath. Both bedrooms offer a desk-top cell phone charger. A washer and dryer are provided for guest use, including detergent pods and dryer sheets. You'll find everything you need in the fully stocked kitchen, including a microwave & coffee bar (K-cups, filters, creamer & sweeteners provided). For those who prefer to cook their own meals, please take advantage of the slow cooker or full set of pots & pans. A basic set of spices as well as paper plates, foil, baggies, paper towels, dishwasher pods, dish soap and hand soap are also provided. The open kitchen and living room is a great area for dining, relaxing, reading, playing games or watching TV (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc. provided with guest login as well as YouTube TV).Historic downtown Glen Rose is just 3 minutes away, where you can find fun shops and dining opportunities. Stroll the banks of the Paluxy River with your sweetheart or little ones or have a swim or soak in the river at Big Rocks Park with a stop at The Snow Shack for snow cones. Adventures also await at Fossil Rim Wildlife Center, Dinosaur Valley State Park/Dinosaur World and Wheeler Branch Reservoir, each just a short 10 min. drive from Glen Rose. WELCOME to the Dino capital of the world! 🦕Come and enjoy small town America. Our two street, quiet neighborhood has concrete roads, sidewalks, street lamps and all. This home is a 4 bed, 4 bath 2-story home. Two rooms are upstairs with their own individual en-suite bathrooms and separate staircases as well (the rooms do not connect at all- great for added privacy for multi families traveling). One upstairs room has a queen bed and large bathroom with full tub/shower. Other upstairs bedroom has two double beds and an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. Downstairs has the primary bedroom with a king size bed, large bathroom and large tiled walk-in shower. There’s also an additional twin bed, that is stored in the closet, that can be pulled out to accommodate a young child who may still want to sleep in mom and dad’s room! (My youngest was like that! Lol) The other downstairs bedroom has a twin bunk bed with a twin trundle and a full size bed. This room could accommodate 4-5 children easily. This room also has a connecting bathroom as well. Each room has its own bathroom which is great for privacy when traveling with others. We have also provided a high chair, pack-n-play and small portable crib for convenience for those traveling with infants. 👶 🍼 As of right now, we don’t offer bedding for the small crib so we would ask that you bring that or we do have smaller blankets available in the hall closet closest to the laundry room. The home is listed as sleeping 10 people but you can easily fit up to 12-14 and we certainly don’t mind trying to accommodate larger groups whenever possible! You can entertain all night long with an amazing outdoor area equipped with a propane fire pit 🔥 , rockers 🪑 , small propane grill, porch swing and outdoor yard games 🎲 . The outdoor space is completely fenced in to keep toddlers or pets 🐶 confined and safe while you enjoy relaxing at the end of the day.
