"Great old school hotel that provides affordable luxury. All amenities thought off,I really can’t fault it. The only thing I would mention is that there is no air con but for Edinburgh that isn’t really needed 95% of the time. Would definitely return"

"Service was top notch here with staff super friendly Loved the pool and spa facilities although they are small so recommend trying to go at off peak hours. The gym is surprisingly well appointed too - they should make more of that! Happy hour in the bar was a nice touch too"

"Honestly beside the location(most famous street in Edinburgh) the hotel is overally overrated, for example, there is not any shade for terrace for raining times, the room was very small, the livrary always full of members cause there were just about six or seven seats to sit, I think that you can find a better hotel in Edinburgh with this price"

"Good points: The location is perfect, city centre. Service is above average. We had the breakfasts, not buffet style but actually v good. Al carte style, not easy to over eat.walking distance to a lot of attractions and starting points of local tours. Staff at reception were helpful and friendly. Above average. Check in. Check out smooth. Although my family of 4 while in UK, would book 2 rooms, recently, probably for the fun of the booking staff (definitely felt intentional) or the inadequacy of the computers, our family would be placed in 2 rooms in different floors, this time it DID NOT HAPPEN. So special thanks to W hotel for making this normal request come true. Not good points: Although nothing wrong with artificial friendliness, however, when all our luggage was delayed by British Airway, and there was a reasonable line in check in. The reception staff maybe could cut down the chatting with the guests and focused in doing the job and checking us in quicker. House keeping was below average, dirty glasses were not cleaned or replaced for TWO days. However this was not uncommon in UK in general. Breakfast ordering in the restaurant, orders were missed twice but actually above average in UK. Reminder: The hotel slippers were nice. Available on request, they would pretend the slippers were in the rooms, they would be available when requested Free. Thanks."
