Upon arrival everything looks good, but...... I picked this specific place due for my birthday due location, price, fireplace and a jacuzzi tub. Everything is extrememely old, worn and some things are even broken such as window shades and the jacuzzi tub which did not or could not operate due to missing parts. There was leaky pipe in the bathroom too. You can not control the thermostat as it is locked. There is a portable space heater in the very cold bathroom. There is not a fireplace as advertised, rather a portable mini space heater with fake flames in the room. At one point, my shoe heal went through the wood flooring next to the bed! I contacted the owner before checkout and told her my concerns and her responses were rude, deplorable, and down right demeaning! Was not willing to apologize for false advertising of the room accomadations. Instead I was blamed for not contacting her sooner! She critized me for not attending the complimentary breakfast for which you sign up on a sheet at check-in which I did not do as I did not want breakfast there. GASLIGHT at its finest! She told me she would contact me later in the day and give me a "small" refund. Well, it's been 3 days and no contact and my credit card was charged in full. The owner is greedy and cheap! End of story.

We had a great time there. At breakfast one morning we had great conversation with the owners. The breakfast was the best I've had. Many options all fresh and presented perfectly- temperature, etc. Stepping into the Lodge made us feel transported into a time when quality and elegance was the norm. Next time we visit the area we will definitely book again at the Lodge. Thank you- Lee and Carlotta and Sophia.

If you are looking for charm, interesting history, nature, quiet, and time to ease down into a satisfying rhythm in a country setting this is your place. If you are looking for delicious breakfast and friendly and informative, enjoyable conversation with Lee and Carlotta, proprietors, this is your place. This is not your usual accommodation. Be prepared to experience the unexpected, like no electricity after a storm during the night. Be prepared to go with the flow. If I had any complaint it would be the mattress! Extremely soft and seemingly worn out. It did not bode well with my back’s physical issues. The 4 star rating is connected to restless sleep and lingering back issues after 4 nights sleeping on an uncomfortable bed. However everyone is different and perhaps an extremely soft mattress is your preference!

This place is seriously just magic. A hidden Minnesota gem. Beautiful grounds, rooms were clean and full of stories. And the breakfast was some of the best I've ever had. We had a chance to meet one of the owner's and she was just lovely! We 100% will be back!!

I stayed at this quaint B&B lodge with my daughters on Mother's Day weekend. I loved the quiet and peaceful surroundings and walking trails. The Victorian-style rooms were comfortable and each one is unique. The lodge itself needs a little TLC but it's still a wonderful and relaxing place to stay. The only downside is that the breakfast starts at 9:00 and we had to leave earlier. They did put outa continental-style breakfast with some delicious homemade breakfast goodies.

The bed was UNBELIEVABLY comfortable. The place is charming beyond words. We absolutely loved our stay!! The hospitality was above and beyond gracious. The property is out of a dream and it's such a beautiful setting with all the comfort of home!!!

Beautiful historic place, so peaceful and serene. We enjoyed our 2 nights, visited Stillwater. This is an old home, so be prepared for cobwebs etc, but it was stunning, definitely will stay again. The grounds were lovely to walk around. So quiet

We stayed here in May of 2022 and enjoyed our experience. We are not traditionally a family to book a stay at a bed and breakfast but we found it exciting and had a nice stay. It was very clean and the bed was comfortable. It was very cool to learn the history of the building and see how well kept it has been. Breakfast had a variety of options as well. We hiked the various trails they have in their back yard and thought it was very peaceful and beautiful.

We had a wonderful stay! It is an historic building & so yes, the floor did creek, the shower was a bit "rustic" and the AC units where floor and window units. But the building was kept at the perfect temp, the rooms were clean & well kept. Hands down the most comfortable and enjoyable B&B Stay we have ever had! Breakfast was wonderful & the owners were a joy to chat with! I wish we would have made time to go for a hike or scout out the beautiful property more!
