The Inn at Stockbridge

5 stars isn’t enough stars for this place. It’s very rare to find a place with a 5.0 rating. This place exceeds that with flying colors. After a 4-hour bus ride, my partner and I (and my cane and spasmodic back) were excepting to be able to uber 10 minutes from the drop-off to the inn….this wouldn’t have happened lest we paid $60 for an uber (there weren’t even any cab companies in the area)….the innkeepers husband, halo a-glowing, showed up in his chariot and brought us to the inn, in all its grand Victorian home, heartwarming holiday light display, and up to our beautiful room (Greek Isles). We dropped our things off and were invited to a complimentary wine, cheese, and comedy night in the main house…having not eaten anything in hours, we were famished. We were provided some of the most delicious, creative pizza while enjoying an open-mic comedy night. The main house itself is amazing beyond words, with all the comforts of home, and then some (or a lot). This house is a grand Victorian, and one wonders how it was in yesteryear, but every room is amazingly decorated, with wallpaper of dogs, a fireplace, record player…the breakfast room has a 24-hr coffee and soda area, and in all, it’s just so cozy…like the house in all its grandeur is hugging you. One selling point was that this inn has a resident bulldog. At time of print, this review is being overseen by a small stuffed animal version of the host hound, as the real one has yet to be seen. Once we retired to our room, as tired as we were, we took a soak in the lovely jacuzzi, and then flipped on one of most comfortable beds we’ve experienced in a long time. (Remember- one of us is injured and using a cane, so comfort is paramount!) Next morning, we go to the main house to experience the highly-acclaimed gourmet breakfasts mentioned in so many other reviews. ….did.not.disappoint. Gary, one of the innkeepers, went around welcoming every guest as they arrived in the warm, cozy breakfast room, and asked how they were enjoying their stay…this indicates the hosts truly care and are not just doing “table touches.” Breakfast for morning #1 was homemade stuffed brioche/challah with Apple compote, thick cut and incredibly delicious bacon, and a fruit parfait….incredible! Gary told us that the inconvenience experienced involving the surprising scarcity of, and inexplicable cost for, Ubers around this area, is standard, and highly recommended we get a car….worth.every.penny The only problem: we don’t want to leave the inn grounds as they are so charming and beautiful even in the winter, with a frost-covered lawn and herb garden and outdoor pool:…all of this only added to the Norman-Rockwell-esque rural landscapes in the area (note: Norman Rockwells home is less than 10 minutes from the inn). They may not have had a comedy show the second night, but we were cordially invited to another wine-and-cheese hour where we mingled with other inn guests, who were just as relaxed and happy as we were….just some

We had an amazing stay at The Inn at Stockbridge! Before we even arrived, I received multiple texts and emails confirming our stay, providing check in and stay details, and asking for any preferences. This was actually a relief because a few months ago we arrived to a hotel in Florida that lost our reservation and had no vacancies so to feel like we were being taken care of before even arriving was very much appreciated. We found the inn to be straight out of a Hallmark Christmas movie, with festive decor, clean rooms complete with cozy fireplace and very comfortable bedding. The inn was quiet and peaceful and a true escape, but, what truly set our stay over the top was Sheri. Sheri's hospitality went above and beyond. We had 2 delicious gourmet breakfasts here, one of which was brought to our room. We added on the fondue package and enjoyed cozying up in the room with the wine and cheese and fixings from the spread so much that we cancelled our dinner reservations and spent the night enjoying the room. We were also super excited to meet the mascot doggy, Brutus! We highly recommend The Inn at Stockbridge for your stay!

From the moment we drove up to the Inn, we knew we made the right decision to stay here. The front porch is welcoming with rocking chairs and seasonal decor. Once you walk in you will see all the effort the owners take in making this property wonderful. Each room has a different theme. Breakfast is absolutely scrumptious. However, the biggest asset to this Inn are the owners and staff. They will go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. We will definitely return

My wife and I had a wonderful weekend staying at the Inn. We reserved the Greek Isle room in the The Cottage. It was recently updated and nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable but was high off the ground. A step stool was provided for those who might need it. The fireplace easily warmed the entire room, and the room stayed at a comfortable temperature for hours after we turned it off. The bathroom had a large jacuzzi tub and walk in shower and both worked well with plenty of water pressure. There is also a good sized mini-fridge, which was good convenient. They had live music in the late afternoon on both Friday and Saturday along with a fully stocked cash bar. We really enjoyed sitting outside, sipping our drinks while listening to good music. The main house was nicely appointed and they had non-alcoholic drinks and cookies (freshly baked!) available each day. The breakfast area was large enough to accommodate everyone and the food was freshly made and delicious. The owners were very nice and went out of their way to make sure that we had everything that we needed. The location was central to both hiking and restaurants, so we didn't have to drive too far to get where we wanted to go. If you're looking for a great B&B in the Berkshires, I highly recommend The Inn at Stockbridge!

We have previously stayed at the Inn but this was our first visit since Gary and Nicole have taken over. As others have said, they have made a great inn even better. There has been a general refreshing up - and great wifi/internet connection. Breakfasts are delicious and sumptuous, with a different special each day. The outdoor fountain has been repaired and new walkways installed. The pool is as inviting as ever. We stayed in the Blagdon room in the main house, very peaceful, quiet and lovely. A wonderful shower in the bathroom, plenty of storage, and 2 lounge chairs, a fireplace, and desk. Windows on 3 sides brought plenty of sunlight, and the air-conditioning worked extremely well (the July weather being very hot). Best of all, Gary and Nicole were excellent hosts. We will definitely return.

We were frequent visitors to The Inn at Stockbridge prior to the Pandemic. Our 3-night stay in July marked our first time here since Gary and Nicole acquired the property. Our conclusion: they made a great B&B even greater. We stayed in one of the re-imagined main house rooms, The Guilded Stage. Though a bit small, this was one of the nicest B&B rooms we ever stayed in, with a spectacular new spa shower, beautiful tile-work, a very comfortable king bed, and a tastefully executed theatrical theme. Notable upgrades to the common areas included all-new equipment in the exercise room, the addition of a peaceful fountain near the Inn's very relaxing pool area, and the addition of a small bar with comfortable seating. The grounds remain spectacular and the breakfasts are still top-notch. Importantly, Gary and Nicole are very gracious, sociable hosts, with excellent tips for restaurants and sightseeing that can even enhance the Berkshires experience for veteran visitors like us. With its amenities, the Inn at Stockbridge is a great place to unwind, while its central location allows you to also enjoy all that Berkshires have to offer. We will surely return!
