We spent the last night of our stay in Zanzibar before taking our plane back home. Our experience was really bad. Starting by the unfriendly staff and continuing with the room. Ours looked more a prison than a room. The air conditioning did not work so we were just dying and unable to sleep. The room was not very clean and we got several bugs bites. We ordered a taxi the day before as we had to leave at 3am and the taxi came 20 min late.

Paid and stayed for three nights. Had to re-charge my key-card every day to enter my room. No towels the second day. Wifi stopped working second day. One employee brought cookies and "we love you card". Another one stole it during cleaning. My personal towel was stolen first day. Don't eat.breakfast here if you still choose to book. This is my third and last time I book this hotel. Excellent situated in the middle of Stonetown but I'm sure you can find a better one nearby.

We loved our stay at the Spice Palace Hotel. It was a great location, which made it really easy to wander the streets of Stone Town. The rooms were comfortable, and it had AC which was much needed! The hotel has a lot of cool interior aspects and decor items. The pool was clean and nice to take a dip in! The rooftop restaurant had great staff and yummy drinks! The food was good for a quick bite. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay somewhere well priced & centrally located!

Really great hotel with good service , friendly staff and in the heart of stone town with quick access to all the places u need to see. The rooms are so worth it for the price u pay and their restaurant serves good food and breakfast options are actually bigger and better than some 5* places In dar es salaam. The staff are accomadating . The AC is much needed and was a blessing .

Very nice room with balcony. Big comfortable bed. Small cute swimming pool. Rooftop terrace for breakfast. Fun messages all over the hotel. There was a bit of noise from the neighborhood. The AC was strong but out of control. Location excellent. Overall very good experience

Do not stay here!! They have bed bugs in the bed and cockroaches running around their food. I came here for my birthday and they completely ruined it for me. I was badly bitten while sleeping and when I reported it nobody did ANYTHING! I asked for the manager for over a week and the front desk staff pretended like they didn’t even know what k was talking about. Tag manager was nowhere to be found during my entire stay, and it was because they did not want to give me a refund. The towels and linen are dirty and the food in the restaurants has cockroaches crawling all over it. Please please save your money and give it to a worthy hotel instead of this place. Imagine going on vacation and scratching yourself the whole time because you a hotel has bed bugs. Save yourself the traumatic experience. I now have dark spots all over my arms and legs.

We only went for dinner here having heard that the roof-top restaurant has a good view. In the end the view was really the best part of the evening. The food was fairly standard fare, really nothing special - piece of chicken, not specially spiced, rice and veg - and we had to wait for it. The staff were slow and unresponsive, and when it came to pay I had to pull them away from their chatter to give me the bill and then they were unable to take hard currency and I had to pay by card. Frankly, there are plenty of better options in Stone Town.

hotel is great, breakfast good, rooms clean ,shower great, ac fine,great pool, central to all attractions,staff very helpfull, paticulary martha working in the roof top bar, food from menu tasty and very reasonable
