Lost & Found Zanzibar

The vile lady who runs this hostel physically assaulted me. I had given my laundry in the morning, and was told it would take 24 hours. It still wasn’t ready 24 hours later, so I was waiting in my room. When it did come back, it wasn’t properly clean, and it was also wet and smelled mouldy (like it had been sitting in a wet pile since the wash). I therefore said to the lady I didn’t think the full price was fair, and she immediately was extremely extremely rude and aggressive. There was no opportunity to have a constructive conversation with her, even when I explained it wasn’t really fair to pay full price as I’d need to have my washing done elsewhere. Her best offer was a 5000 discount, but given the state of the problem I still didn’t feel paying 25000 for a small laundry load was fair and so walked back to my room to pack up my things and resolve it hopefully with another member of staff.When I came back down stairs with my bag, this lady ran up to me and physically grabbed me screaming at me. The situation was so bad that strangers were coming in from the street telling her to let go of me and trying to intervene. I’ve never ever in my life experienced something like this and will file police report when I return to stone town. I cannot wholeheartedly recommend enough that nobody ever ever stays here.

I recently stayed at this amazing hostel and it exceeded all my expectations! The meals were not only delicious but also diverse, catering to various tastes. Amazing time at Lost and Found. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Beds were very comfortable with good privacy. Would definitely go again if I’m in Zanzibar!! Very central location as well which makes it very easy to explore Stone town and its various attractions. It is also directly opposite the Freddy Mercury museum!!!
