This hotel has walls as thin as paper. You can hear everything in the rooms around and above you. Whenever the people upstairs walked around, our chandelier shook. It is also unbearably hot. They turn the air-con in the rooms off in October but turn the heating on. It’s like sleeping in Bali. They turned our heating off but it was still uncomfortably hot and we couldn’t open the windows as there are still mosquitoes about. We didn’t get a decent nights sleep all week. I would not go back.

Bedroom was compact and the bathroom even more so. No cotton wool as a complimentary supply in the bathroom . Very aged rooms though downstairs was full of old glamour. Breakfast wasn’t the best. No mushrooms with the fried offerings and no fresh fruit all seemed tinned apart from the melon and no seeds. The pastries were delicious. Trading on its status?. Staff ok but not very welcoming

Great location, great staff, excellent food. Garden is exceptional. Rooms were comfortable, clean and well kept. Staff in the restaurant and the bars were friendly and very attentive. The only slight criticism that you could make is that the reception is a little small with only being manned by at most 2 people.

We have stayed at this lovely hotel twice, last September and this July. We found everything about this hotel to be ideal. The location is perfect. The staff are very pleasant (it was amazing that three of the staff remembered us from last year). So much so that we have already booked for next year.

We stayed here with a travel group and it was excellent. The rooms were very well appointed and our view of the lake was amazing! The location is perfect for the views as well as close to many restaurants. There is also a restaurant in the hotel that is very convenient for like meals and drinks.

Stayed for 2 nights. Good car parking for guests. Check is overly complicated and fussy. We had an end room facing the lake which was huge and a separate seating area along with an outside balcony with table and chairs which was nice. Bathroom was great with full-size walk in shower. Strangely we had a ‘circular’ bed which was not particularly comfortable - also the pillows were hopeless and no where near enough for 2 persons. Mini bar literally has a mind of its own - call it an early version of AI because the moment you open it it charges you. If you touch anything it charges you. If you place anything on there it also charges you. We had a string debate with reception at checkout to get a lot of false charges cancelled. SPA is first class and highly recommended, excellent masseuse and great pool, steam room and sauna. Ideally situated for touring Stressa or the islands.

This is our second stay at Regina Palace and we were not disappointed. We were booked with Riviera Tours (second trip!) The hotel Regina Palace is a step back in time, beautifully clean and presented to the highest standard. The food is excellent and the table service exemplary. Our room was so comfortable and the décor just stunning, really luxurious. The attention to detail throughout our stay was superb and we think that hotels in England could learn a thing or two from the amazing staff and the service provided by this hotel! We cannot wait to return!

Great hotel and location. Pool area is very nice, but letting non residents in is not a good idea, its absolutely ridiculous when hotel guests try to get sunbeds if they arrive later in the day after exploring the area. Also dont like the fact that dogs are allowed in the pool area. Management, you are letting a fantastic hotel down. Yes, it's from another era and things are old, but it's a well maintained hotel opposite the lake. Staff friendly and helpful and a special call out to the senior barman with glasses, top man. Will I go back, definitely, go for it, its a great experience
