Crystalbrook Byron

The hotel just some minutes away from downtown, is qualified in the best 10 resorts from Australia. Beautifull surroundings, our cabane was very large, with living room and terrace, under the Rainforest, surrounded from nature and animals, very quiet and peaceful. Service all over where excellent, attentive and professional. A continued love to detail and décor is all over the venue, large pool, hike and Bicycle opportunities are offered. It is in did a place to stay and enjoy. Restaurant, a la carte Breakfast, and dinner venue are exceptional, good and tasty dishes attentive staff and professional.

Family of 4 - we enjoyed our stay at crystalbrook. We stayed in a rainforest suite - we managed with 1 child on sofa bed and the other slept on the couch. Sofa bed too small for 2 kids regardless of age - and sofa bed is not comfortable - can feel very spring. This needs updating. Room is spacious enough but could do with an update and / or deep clean in bathroom, balconies and shutters / blinds. Very convenient to have little kitchen in room with all amenities. Really liked the shower amenities. Hotel pool is great - beds poolside are really luxurious. Free towels and water poolside are a nice touch!! Lovely area at pool. Car essential to get in and out of Byron and surrounding areas.

Crystalbrook Byron is one of the most beautiful and relaxing places I have ever stayed. Being situated in the rainforest, and walking distance to the beach, it’s truly such a special place. My room was large, clean and quiet. The facilities are fantastic and the service around the pool area was amazing. I loved being able to ride one of the bikes into town, or take the free shuttle bus. All the reception, housekeeping and restaurant staff were so lovely and great, but in particular, Sue, Shelby, Ben and Aya who were so kind, personable, hard-working and really made my stay so enjoyable and memorable. I can’t wait to come back :)

If you’re looking for relaxation this place ticks all the boxes. The pool is divine, the room/showers perfect, there’s tennis court if you fancy a hit or two, and you can do nice forest walk to the beach. Our favourite pastime was just hanging out by the pool with something cold in one hand though

This is a beautiful resort, surrounded by jungle and tea-tree forest and within walking distance (about 15 mins) to one of Byron's nicest - and quietest - beaches. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, with sliding doors for privacy between the bedroom and living room (I stayed for ten days with my two young kids and loved being able to close the bedroom off while they slept on the sofa bed). There are two huge balconies, both fully-enclosed by fly screens so you can enjoy the evening breeze without being eaten alive by mosquitoes. The pool area is lovely, with a dramatic outlook to the jungle's towering trees, a decent sauna, and a nice, shallow kids pool. If you want to explore there are several lovely walks to take through the forested areas. Be careful in the less well-travelled sections of the resort, however, are there are some very wonky boards and major tripping hazards. Overall, the look and feel of the resort is natural luxury. It's so rare to be immersed in nature like this - most resorts are like McMansions: fake, huge, and cheap. Crystalbrook is gorgeous. You might even see a sleepy diamond-backed python on the boardwalk (don't worry, they aren't dangerous). Room service was good - basically the same as any other hotel. Great kids options, however, and fairly quick delivery speeds. What felt "off brand" was the service. From check-in to check-out, and at almost every meal in between, the staff were fairly aloof. There were a couple of friendly breakfast staff, who took the initiative with smiles and kids packs when my two were getting wriggly, but they were the exception. Most staff seemed fairly bored and/or "too cool" to engage in a genuinely warm manner. The spa was excellent. I had the most relaxing facial of my life from a deeply caring and intuitive therapist. I will stay here again - I don't think there's a better place in the central Byron Bay area. But management should figure out why the staff don't seem super happy - it's not a good vibe for such a good hotel.

Sue was the main person at the receptionist who my friend and I had the most interaction with. She made our stay really pleasant, assisting us with her lovely demeanour and providing prompt help for us to the best of her abilities. The resort was relaxing, and the flora area was well-maintained and love the location away from the central of the city. We did not rent a car, but we’ve got Ubers in and out of the city and the whole process was smooth and easy. Highly recommend this place as a laidback retreat! The bin chickens there at the pool area was out to hunt for food though, so do be careful of those - though I could tell the staff tries their best to scare it away.
