Smartline Meridian Hotel

Not much of a welcome or information shared on arrival. The rooms are spacious and clean, we did have a faulty toilet but it was fixed immediately, so good service there. A complaint as such is that the cleaners seem to start at 8am,? Now I work hard all year & really don’t want to be up, dressed and out for 8am! They’ve returned once, so if ur not up ur stuck without fresh towels etc - your choice! This is a very large complex 11 floors & the lift situations awful,, they’re too small, not enough & you could be up and down 3 times before you reach the restaurant on the 11th floor! The pools nice but the floors filthy, the best thing is they don’t allow ppl to reserve subbed, removing towels of unused beds. They’re a good support if you need a bed or brolly. We’ve some half board. Now this has many plus & minus areas. If you’re not early for food they don’t replenish very often. Breakfast & dinner only seem to top up for the 1st hour, after that ur done. The foods tasty but very repetitive and if ur fussy then it’s a long wait for a slice of pizza. I sadly have lots of allergies, so found meals difficult The drink situation for non- all inclusive guests isn’t the best. You can’t even get a drink of water without paying, and you can only use 1 bar, which is frequently unmanned. Right outside the doors a great restaurant, fabulous staff, welcoming and helpful. Things to watch out for - the trains - they catch you out by saying they go to Nesebar & sunny beach, they stop & start at the border of each area so get the orange bus if you want to go to Old Nesebar,, it’s a squash like never before but only 2L. The beach is lovely but a subbed 16L for the day, worth it for a breeze! The pubs - be careful of hidden charges. Those with entertainment like The House, add 6L per person charge for being there whilst the shows on,, no warning offered! There’s lots of bars, shops, public loos - they charge 2L, but are kept clean Shop around for excursions, there’s a big difference in price between hotels, shops and the harbour, All in all, we’d come back, it’s a good location and friendly enough.

Very poor attitude. Felt unwell coming . Arrived to staff given attended. They seem to have rules but make it up as they do From NO Food at pool. But when others do they to care. Also Nothing marked to tell you ingredients so difficult to find food. The pool staff in white tops seem to be a problem as some seem to leave towels all day but when I left to pick up & returned they had moved my towels. Restaurant staff girl with glasses rude & poor attitude. Found pool bar staff nice . As for Restaurant dont leave anything they remove before get chance to eat. The room is nice but won't use this hotel again.

The hotel location is excellent you are in walking distance of shops bars restaurants and beach, in 15 minutes walk could be at flower street in 30 minutes walk nesebar old town, which you must visit. The hotel has one small pool which is adequate, if it was main season you would struggle with sun beds, there is two all inclusive bars one is in the pool and one is in the day time snack lunch restaurant both open at 10.30. There is a lobby bar but for payment only which I found strange and is the best to access. Staff were all lovely and helpful. The main restaurant is on top floor for breakfast and evening meal, lovely views, breakfast was good yougurt, tinned fruit, cereal, only fresh fruit was pea aged, banana and grapefruit. There was pancakes, scrambled and fried eggs, bacon and continental. I did miss more fruit and omelettes. Lunch was in the downstairs restaurant, great salads, usually meat on grill and a few options and ice cream available all day. Evening meal back on roof restaurant which we didn’t go to choose to go out for more choice. My husband is not good with heights we were on 8th floor so he couldn’t go on balcony and found the top restaurant a challenge. There is 5 lifts and apart from peak times no issues. The room is big in size, no double beds only singles pushed together. The beds are very hard, so I had to lay on extra pillows as have a bad back and was causing a lot of pain. There is a ward robe with 6 hangers so bring spare. The bathroom is small and dated but good shower, the towels are small and hard, air con really doesn’t do much, no safe you have to rent a box in reception, no kettle, but you do get hotel soap, shower gel and shampoo but why you would need these on a weeks holiday is beyond me as would last a day. All in all basic, cheap good location, good staff but a 3 star at best this needs reviewing, the room was disappointing hence the low score. The

The hotel is situated close to the beach and a vast array of shops and restaurants..im here on an all-inclusive package and i must say all aspects of the hotel exceed my expectations, if i was to believe some of the more negative reviews, which i dont ,...the food is varied and very enjoyable..the staff ive interacted with ,reception, dining room ,bar ..have been very courteous and welcoming..my room on the 5th floor is excellent and clean ...its my first time in Bulgaria but i will definitely be back ...A beautiful hotel, excellent attentive staff..

Awesome place, loved Toshka our taxi driver and Asin our barman, best hosts ever. Taught me Bulgarian basics, and I still know them now, good lads, made it a good stay. Beer ping-pong was the best. I want more beer ping pong. Everyone needs Asin as their barman.

Recently stayed here, I think the hotel not having a Facebook group really is an indicator of how it is because I’m sure if I had read comments on there I’d have not booked. Food was hit and miss .. it was passable just until day 3 when I saw files on the scrambled egg … signs everywhere saying do not take photos of food or video. There was rabbit on offer plus other stews. The staff didn’t give off a friendly vibe and the smell at reception from a nearby toilet was awful. Swimming pool too small for hotel capacity and sun beds too close and I felt claustrophobic. Hotels built on each inch of land. Noisy at night too. On reflection sunny beach was like Blackpool on steroids … sex shops, and shops selling lots of knuckle dusters, knives etc. regretted letting my kids chose a fridge magnet in a gift shop as they weren’t age appropriate. We visited nessebar and it was so different and beautiful. On reflection I wish we had booked to stay there. It had a whole different ambience. the buildings etc and cobbled streets had so much character. I guess for a drinking cheap holiday it’s ok as a base camp. For myself with children i wouldn’t recommend and I should have booked elsewhere. Bulgarian night, Khans tent, lazy boat cruise, vip catamaran trip and bus trips to Nessebar whilst eating out salvaged this holiday from What could have been a disaster as I just wanted to be away from the meridian.
