Amora Hotel Jamison Sydney recensioner

While the room was spacious and the location convenient, this hotel was a massive disappointment, especially considering it claims to be a five-star establishment. Having stayed in multiple hotels around Sydney CBD at different price points, this was by far the worst—offering service that wouldn’t even meet the standards of a hostel. The hallways reeked of an overpowering disinfectant smell, while the room itself was dusty, leaving us sneezing throughout the stay. This level of poor upkeep is unacceptable for a so-called luxury hotel. The service was equally subpar. When we requested a room change at the front desk, we were told no standard rooms were available, only higher-priced options. Yet, minutes later, we found multiple rooms available online and were able to book and check in immediately. This was an incredibly frustrating experience, made worse by the fact that it happened at midnight. To top it off, the hotel only provided one bottle of water for two guests, and requesting an extra bottle came with a $6 charge. Such stinginess is shocking for a property claiming to be five-star. Between the lack of cleanliness, poor service, and misleading claims of luxury, this hotel delivered a worse experience than any budget accommodation we’ve ever stayed in. Avoid it.

Spacious room. Room service menu was ok/good. Lifts are under refurb and need it. Very slow and worn out.

Excellent service, great breakfast, immaculately clean. Furniture was bit worn down but everything else was perfect.

The Amora in Jamison Street is now my 'go to ' city location. It is superbly situated within striking distance of The Rocks,Barangaroo and the main shopping area whilst having superb eateries within walking distance. No need to take the car once parked. We also love the smell as you enter the foyer - very reminiscent of the Imperial in Delhi. Staff are always friendly and accommodating.

Great location and good value for a city stay. The only disappointment was the hotel's price for weekend parking in the hotel's parking station in the building (albeit run and managed by a parking company) is more expensive than the public rate. You would have thought they could negotiate a cheaper rate for its clients. But not enough to ruin a great stay.

2nd time staying here. No issues with this hotel just that the room this time had a tap issue. The staff here are friendly.

Great location! 10mins walk to Circular Quay where you can view Sydney Opera House and just a 5mins walk to the nearest train station (Wynyard Station). There is also a nearby mall *MetStation* which connects to the train station (Wynyard). Rooms are also decently well furbished where staff are very helpful. Overall a great stay and would highly recommend this hotel.
