Iapetos Village

Excellent place! Centrally located with large spacious, clean rooms and a beautiful courtyard. A nice pool that is undercover and fabulous breakfast with so much variety! The staff are so warm and friendly and the town is 2 min walk away. They offered free transport for the port as my in laws struggle with mobility which was very kind. Highly recommend!

Iapetos village hotel in the town of Symi is really beautiful with colourful little houses , a charming stone-built covered pool and a truly outstanding garden with palms and other appropriate plants. A delightful young woman receptionist and a lovely courtyard with bar and tables for breakfast. Breakfast itself is poor, always the same with substandard products on offer: poor coffee, the cheapest quality tinned peaches and unripe fruit. The apartments are spacious but dark and somewhat gloomy but the surroundings are magical. A mixed bag but the colours of the houses and the amazing garden made for a heavenly week’s holiday, despite the shortcomings mentioned above.

I wouldn't normally review a place while still there but honestly I'm just blown away by this place. Stunning accommodation, tastefully decorated in keeping with the beauty of Symi Island. Staff have been very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was ample catering to different tastes. Would definitely return. I would love to see a way for those if us who are animal lovers to help the local cats. I know there are organisations locally who do this and it would be nice if guests who want to could easily support them.

All of the Glowing Reviews are True: Just meters from the waterfront and Tavernas, Iapetos is a little village within the village. Just away from the noise and crowds. Lovely courtyard and pool areas, with a full breakfast and bar service. Air Con and internet are also first rate. The staff are very friendly and helpful and directed us to some outstanding restaurants and tavernas and things to do.

Recently returned from very enjoyable 2 week stay at Iapetos in which we explored the beautiful island of Symi which I last visited in 1980.The hotel is very well sited , a short flat stroll to the central harbour with its tavernas and bars.We stayed in a two storey maisonette which has stairs which are a little daunting at first, and not for the less mobile.! The accommodation was large ,comfortable, well furnished, well equipped, and immaculately cleaned and presented.The small balconies generally look out over the gardens and accommodation. The air conditioning worked extremely well and was gratefully used to get a good nights sleep.Gardens immaculately kept as is the covered small swimming pool, which, probably due to the cover and its siting, is rarely used by guests.There is little room to sunbathe which was disappointing.I ventured in a couple of times for a dip in two weeks but found the sea more attractive and warmer.As others have stated breakfast is more than adequate if a little uninspiring and taken by us in the garden.Staff without exception very efficient, friendly,and willing to help.All in all a great couple of weeks and will be high on our list should we return in the future.

We stayed here for 4 nights in a large maisonette. The way it was furnished was a little strange as downstairs there was a very uncomfortable sofa which faced the kitchen appliances. The tv was upstairs in the bedroom covering a large mirror! There was a lot of storage, a bathroom and a shower room which seemed a lot for 2 people. The upstairs balcony was very small. It was all very clean and was cleaned daily. The bed was a little hard and so were the pillows. The breakfast was adequate but not a lot of choice. The breakfast room is downstairs in a basement so everyone carries their food up to the bar area. The bar was often closed in the evening. However the hotel is very close to the centre of Symi with many restaurants and bars. The swimming pool is covered but the temperature is very cold. We didn’t see anyone swimming in it. The cats drank the water!
