Feynan Ecolodge

Very Nice stay in a peaceful and charming venue. People are welcoming and Nice. Food is simple but wealthy and excellent. We enjoyed Great expériences such as Wadi Ghweir hike, sunset hike and stargazing at night. The only little inconvenience is the lighting with candles in the room which provides very Little Light at night.

What a strange and sad place this is! We found it SO hard to find staff and the whole ambience was dingy and cheerless. Most of the seating was hard metal chairs or wooden benches and the ‘lack of electricity’ was laughable. There was light in the bathrooms but not the stairs or bedrooms. And the reception area was so dark it was difficult to see if there was any info. I am vegetarian and was looking forward to enjoying what your cooks could provide but what was served up was overcooked cauliflower cheese without any cheese, tasteless overcooked spinach and something based on tinned sweetcorn. All of it was tasteless and uninteresting. The ambience outside would be improved if you cleaned away rubbish and discarded metal and watered the trees so they survived. And why not plant more. This place has potential but is overpriced and the staff invisible

I had a really lovely one-night stay. I wish I had stayed longer for more hikes, walks, and food. Eco: we took all the trash that we brought with us because they are an eco-resort, and Although they do have recycling and trash facilities, it’s the ethos of eco travel. Getting there: there is a dirt road, so if you don’t have an almost 4X4, you must arrange for reception to pick you up. That’s the fun part of driving off-road-ish. Rooms: We stayed in a nice fancy room, so to me, it was worth it, especially the view and hot water. Food: amazing vegetarian food. Like a Wadi rum experience but less crowded, they don’t sell alcohol. But you could bring your own. Activities: They have an activity calendar that includes morning hikes and experiences with the Bedouin tribe. Stargazing at night. A cosy room with a fireplace in the evenings to read or relax. The staff are so kind and thoughtful.

FEYNAN ECOLODGE, what a Place. My wife and I spent 3 nights there in May. A unique place that truly embodies the meaning of Eco-friendly and sustainability. The lodge was built in a way that is very sympathetic to the environment and is run by a team from the local bedouin community. Not only does this provide the locals with jobs but it also ensures that the local community's needs and way of life are preserved. The people of Jordan are known for their hospitality and welcoming nature but the team at Feynan were mazing. The food was delicious, plentiful and made fresh from seasonal local produce. One of the big highlights was the night sky. Beats what we have seen at Wadi rum with the added bonus of Ali (the self-taught astronomer) who described so eloquently what we were seeing and how the stars are used by the bedouins to navigate their movements. Highly recommended and a must if you are in Jordan

Feynan Ecolodge is beautiful and truly “eco”. Recycled water, extremely limited electricity-lit by candles at night, no plastic or packaging, drinking water is provided in ceramic jars in your room and elsewhere, vegetarian meals (delicious!). The building the rooms are quaint adobe style.June is hot so we ended up sleeping on the roof-lots of mattresses and a gorgeous breeze! The location is excellent… bordering Dana biosphere. It was too hot in June for us to go to Dana. We hiked Wadi Ghweir-6 hours. Stunning! (And the last 1.5 hrs was very hot!). We were driven to the Petra entrance and walked back to the lodge. I would recommend the other direction so you are still in the shade at the heat of the day. Staff are very accommodating. They provided us with a wonderful (cloth bag) lunch. We were (unfortunately) the only visitors at the lodge … they have so much to offer. Perfect place for a yoga retreat! It is a little challenging to get to… we had to meet at the reception centre and get driven in a truck as the roads are pretty rough! Highly recommend! Well worth the visit

My husband and I just spent 3 nights at Feynan. It was terrific. The staff were super friendly, the food was delish and the lodge itself was comfortable and quiet. It was nice to take a break from the hustle of the rest of our Jordan travels. A big shout out to Essa who guided us on a few hikes. He is a great guide, a very nice person and his English is excellent. We also took a cooking class that was fun. Chilling on the rooftop at night under the stars or reading in the shade of an umbrella in the daytime was very relaxing. If you are concerned about being "off grid" you needn't worry, there is wifi in the lobby area and excellent cel reception throughout the lodge.
