I booked 4 nights at the mountain lodge but checked out early on day 4 after enduring 3 days of cold showers. Despite reporting the issue on day 1, it was never properly fixed. An engineer came on day 2, but we only had 5 minutes of hot water before it went cold again. On day 3, no one came despite our complaints, and by day 4, I left. Instead of offering a sincere apology, the manager (Shiraz) claimed the issue was "out of her control" and refused a refund, only removing the 4th night from my bill "as a gesture of goodwill." The lodge was also dirty and not cleaned daily. Dead cockroaches laid around for days. The bathroom smelled like sewage, and considering that you can’t flush toilet paper, it was unacceptable that bins weren’t emptied daily. Despite the remote location, it was also noisy at night with barking dogs, crowing roosters from 4 AM, and goats. Additionally, you’re forced to use the lodge's taxi service, which charges double the regular fare, making it difficult to get around. The WiFi signal was terrible, constantly dropping every few minutes. On a positive note, the chef was excellent, tailoring meals to suit all dietary needs, and the best part of the stay was Brown, the host, who was warm and attentive. However, despite these positives, I wouldn't recommend the lodge as better value can be found elsewhere.
