funny ximen Hotel recensioner

great value for a room for 5 adult. good location. recommended for family and friends if you want a cheap but clean hotel.

right in the middle of ximending night market, lots of shops and cafe's 4mins walk to ximen station 15mins walk to taipei main station, building  is self check in and out on 7th floor free water tea and coffee, old stuff good to stay for 2-3 nights if you want to roam on night market and try all the foods shop that has long lines.

They said 24 hours reception with baggage storage but it's not true. We arrived around 5am at the hotel. We'd like to leave our luggage and go sightseeing but we cant go to the 7th floor where the hotel is located. The elevator wont press 7th floor until a certain time, you should have a code or something before you can press it. Their reception is only open at 11am. So if your flight is early please dont book this one. The reception woman is not approachable and very grumpy, she doesnt speak english too, communication is hard. Location wise, it's within ximending and the beds are large and comfortable for 4 pax. There are no windows. Shower head is also broken.

Location is good, right at Ximending, walkable distance to 7/11, Starbucks and food stalls. However, as a family of 5, it’s a very very small hotel room. Toilet has no lock and it’s right next to the bed. Minimal privacy for everyone. There’s a hot water dispenser and microwave at the main lobby. Self check out was easy and convenient. If you are backpacking and looking for budget hotel then this is ok. Family looking for accommodation then is NO.

Staff were accommodating. They provided good amenities and service. This hotel is very accessible to Ximending District. They maintained cleanliness and freshness of the room as well. I recommend this hotel!

It was nice and convenient. The location has a lot of local eateries but pls be careful as most of these are tourists traps with poor tasting food and high prices. However it’s still possible to find gems here such as this ice cream shop.

Broken toilet, zero customer service, paper thin walls, malfunctioning elevator, dirty room. PROS: - Self check-in and out — the only good thing after being in the city center. CONS: - Hotel is placed at 7th floor, sometimes the elevator DOES NOT WORK to get to the 7th floor and they won’t help you. There is no stairs or other way to come up so you will be stranded tired and helpless, even if you call they will hang up. - There is no service desk. - No toiletries, which is as advertised. - We stayed for 4 days and the room was NEVER CLEANED once; floors are dirty, bed sheets are the same, the works of a clean room isn’t there. Their idea of cleaning is changing the towels and giving new bottles of water and that’s it. - The floor is uneven, not good if you travel with the elderly. - Walls are paper thin. You could hear the city, the people walking on the corridors and even the service staff walking with their wagons. - The toilet is clogged. We tried flagging their staff to fix it, calling the hotel (yes, again) and going to the front desk to no avail. Staying in Ximending (with a lot of food) while staying in a hotel with a broken toilet will just break your mood. - No cabinets or storage, all your bags will just have to lay down on the floor. - Only one key card per room. I’ve stayed at other budget hotels but this one is the worst. Save yourself and book with Tomorrow Hotel/Rainbow Hotel or Ximen Walker instead.
