New City Hotel recensioner

The location is great and within walking distance to the Shuanglian Metro station. Also, the staff is friendly and very approachable. However, there are some problems with the facilities of the hotel. Firstly, the hot water tap at the washing basin is faulty. The receptionist told us they had it fixed but the issue is not completely fixed, sometimes, the water is still cold even when we tried to set the temperature to a warmer one. This is bad because we went during the period when the weather is cold. Next, the facilities might not be in the best condition. One of the shower facility was not secured properly (see photo) and dropped when we tried to use it. Luckily, it did not hurt anyone and they had promptly fixed the issue. Also, the air-con has a remote control but we were told we cannot control the temperature at all since it is using a centralised cooling system, which defeats the point of having a remote control. This is bad because the weather is cold and the room is even colder, making it very uncomfortable. We had to switch on and off to manually tune the temperature. Lastly, the curtains are not able to block out the lights completely. Many times, we woke up due to the light from outside... As seen, the staff were friendly but the facilities are extremely poor. We are not really satisifed with the facilities from the hotel.

Very new and clean. Did not expect there’s a bathtub, perfect! Walking distance to MRT, can even walk to Ningxia night market. I would stay here again.

The receptionists were very helpful with everything and they have free drinks and snacks at the lobby. The location is very convenient and accessible to the nearby station (3 minute walk). The room was small but it has the basic necessity. The only drawback of this hotel was the soundproofing, I can hear everything from the outside and the sound that our neighborhood the whole time.

Very conveniently located hotel. Small room, but good bedding. Large TV. Services are good, but not outstanding. The staff seems to be part time or interns, so don't expect to receive outstanding services like at a 5 starred hotel. Amenities and slippers are of cheap quality. Bathroom is a bit torn down but acceptable. Overall, it's a 3 star hotel. It's a good choice for just sleep and you will be out most of time. But if you are looking for a resort with most of the time will be spent onsite, this isn't the place.

the location is very convinent. the receptionist is friendly. the facilities are quite old. one of the bath towl provieded was broken.

It is near subway station, only take less than 8 minutes walk. And there are a lot restaurants. The room is clean and the service is good. I will book again for sure.

Good location, located right in front of the hospital. Very close to the shuang lian mrt station, within 200m walk distance. There is a lot of pharmacy, shops, restaurant around the hotel. Location is very versatile and the price is affordable. Service is above the average. Definitely will considered to stay in the same location here.

My daughter forgot to keep her wallet and left it in the room when we checked out. Hotel staff was very kind to keep it for us and inform us to go back and collect it. Only downside for the hotel is that there is no heater and not possible to increase temperature when the room feels too cold. Otherwise, the room is good and service is exemplary

Nice, fairly new hotel. Clean rooms. Free snacks and coffee in the lobby (although I don't know why all hotels here seem to insist on putting 3 in 1 coffee in the room. What about people that like black coffee?). Not far from the MRT.

Located quite near the MRT. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean but pillows are super low and quite uncomfortable. No option to change to higher pillows. Would recommend stacking the pillows if staying alone.

If zero is an option I will not choose 1 star. Why? Because I was charged in full but no room for me! They just message you sorry no room, but didn't cancel the booking though I repeatedly remind them.

I spent 5 days in Taipei with this hotel. Very spacious and beautiful room. Conveniently location. Nice and helpful staff. Good service. Especially the complimentary coffee at the reception was delicious which I had 2 everyday.

The location is convenient to reach everywhere in Taipei It is new and clean.

Location is good. The only thing is that the soundproof wasn’t so great, you get to hear next door.
