Jag skulle vilja dela med mig av min senaste vistelse i Shambhala, Khao Lak, Thailand från 1 till 13 februari. Jag har varit en regelbunden gäst på denna resort i tio år och jag måste säga att det fortfarande är ett fantastiskt ställe att bo på. Anläggningen drivs av den omtänksamma familjen Hong som får dig att känna dig som hemma. Själva resorten är småskalig och ligger direkt vid havet, i en lugn del av Khao Lak. Rummen är enkelt men bekvämt inredda och städas dagligen. Det finns olika typer av rum tillgängliga, inklusive havet, trädgården och hotellrum, så det finns något för alla. Det som gör vistelsen i Shambhala så speciell är vänligheten och serviceinriktningen hos familjen Hong. De är alltid villiga att hjälpa till och gör allt de kan för att du ska ha det bra. Den tropiska trädgården med havsutsikt är det perfekta stället att njuta av måltider. Frukost, lunch och middag är alla läckra och serveras med utsikt över havet. Anläggningen har också en stor pool (infinitypool) där du kan koppla av och njuta av solen. Men det är verkligen omsorgen och uppmärksamheten från familjen Hong som gör vistelsen så speciell. Trots utmaningarna från coronapandemin var vår vistelse återigen fantastisk. Shambhala ligger i en lugn del av Khao Lak, men centrum är lättillgängligt med taxi. Alternativ moped eller cykeluthyrning Kort sagt, om du letar efter en avslappnad och gästvänlig resort i Khao Lak, så kan jag varmt rekommendera Shambhala. Jag kommer definitivt tillbaka! Hong Was amazingly accommodating to the point where I had left my passport at the Phuket airport. She arrange for a car to get it and reassured me everything will be OK. She is a one woman army and takes care of that place so well. If I can give 10 stars for customer service I would. The place itself is clean, cute, and I feel a bit more authentic than some of the other places around.

Initially I was underwhelmed by Shambala - over all it was a little bit dated and not as polished as some photos may suggest …. BUT … after spending a couple of days there I appreciated: Great location - over looking sea with steps to a little bay. Huge quiet beach 1 min walk away. A handful of reservations within 5 mins or 20 min walk to the small tourist strip with bars etc. Transfer takes about 60 mins on main roads mostly. Staff - thank you for looking after us. A lovely team that are always around to help. Rooms - big rooms that get cleaned every day. A little bit dated - but I would now say retro! Everything works, big modern TV, air con, big comfy bed, fridge, kettle, good water pressure in shower. Nice little terrace to escape the heat. Shared space - nice gardens surrounding bungalows, good pool - not massive but great for a dip, plenty on space to sun bathe and relax - not crammed like some modern resorts. Food - breakfast is very good, buffet and order from menu, very generous portions. Lunch and dinner are good also - eat inside or alfresco.

This boutique style family owned resort went out of their way to ensure the couple of days I spent there were stress free. Their attentiveness to ensuring I made it to my next destination and multiple phone calls placed whilst I waited because of a broken down bus were over and above the service you would probably get at a bigger resort. Glasses of water and fruit were placed in front of me, delivered with apologies for the bus company’s failures.

This is a great place with excellent location. Right on the beach, quiet but not far from the center. The resort crew were amazing and super helpful. Everything was really beautiful - rooms, pool, the beach. The owner didn’t stop to surprise us with her care.

This stay was perfect. When I arrived in Khao Lak I didn't like my hotel therefore I found the Shambhala Resort and I was directly in Love with the location. The Pool and the Rooms are perfect. It is the perfect place for all Instagram photos. You get a large Room with a nice Bathroom. All you need is there. The Resort is like a small jungle. The Pool is soooooooo nice. Breakfast was also simple but delicious. The best is the lovely couple that hosts the Resort. I felt like family and they helped me with everything I needed and gave me tips. I would go again, for sure.

The most welcoming and helpfull owners and staff. We visited twice this place, just because the owners were so nice to us. The rooms are always cleaned during the stay and soaps and coffee where filled up everyday. The pool is very clean and beautiful to swim with a view. For us this was the most comfortable place during our trip in thailand. Thanks

We were looking for a place in Khao Lak and came over this place by chance. It really was a hidden gem! Located on a beautiful sandy beach and with front seats to the sunset in palm-paradise. Never could we have found a better place to stay in Khao Lak!! It was small and private, compared to the other bigger resorts with a lot of people along the beach (we walked a lot along the beach and couldn't find a more cozy and nice place than this). The pool and rooms where clean, the staff was totally amazing, and the view from the pool was breathtaking. If I come back to Khao Lak, I would only stay here.

Second time staying at this family run hotel!! I am glad we did. We planned to chill out here before going to Phuket and Bangkok. It really didn't disappoint. The beautiful scenery and the laid back atmosphere made us feel totally relaxed and feel like home. We loved the family who run the hotel and enjoyed our chit chat at dining tables. They are always friendly and helpful if you need anything. I highly recommend this hotel.
