Castle Hotel

On arrival at the hotel we found out there was a wedding reception being held. We were given a room on the floor above the reception instead of the 2nd floor, so we found it a little noisy. In the room we were given were also bunk beds even though we were just a couple. The matress was hard, as were the pillows and in hindsight, we should have used the bunk beds as they were more comfortable. There was nothing in the room to indicate if we could pay for breakfast and we weren't informed at reception even though we saw somewhere lower in the hotel that looked like it would be serving breakfast. The room looked very 'tired' and the evacuation procedure was sun bleached beyond readable. On checking out, we weren't even asked if we had had a nice stay?

The hotel is in a Great location,staff couldn't be more helpful,room cleaned every day. I stayed 7 nights so wouldn't have minded every few days.

From the organisation with Leah to the wedding with Sammie and her staff it was absolutely amazing! For me and my husband it was effortless,the wedgewood suite was perfect for us .lots of reassurance when I was stressing , amazing food , all our guests were happy and catered for , nothing was too much trouble , rooms cozy and comfortable it was perfect in every way … highly recommended from us !! Lifetime memories made, first class treatment. What can I say....I've written lots of reviews over the years...but this may well be the best one I ever had to do. We had the wedding package and were treated like royalty from start to finish. Sammy and Shaun, Leah and julia and all the staff were more than perfect, I can't even begin to tell you how grateful I am.

Had my sister in laws wedding here and was absolutely amazing. Can not thank Sammy and Sean and all the staff there for everything they done and did to make day special. They went above and beyond. Would definitely recommend weddings here and the rooms was lovely bed was comfy and spotless rooms. You want amazing perfect day this place to book

We had our wedding at the Castle Hotel on 12th October. From the first meeting we had up until the day of the wedding everyone was so helpful, accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. Leah was always available to answer questions or any queries we had in the lead up to the day. On the day of the wedding Leah, Sammy and Lydia were all so helpful and friendly and helped the day run as smoothly as possible, they were great with the children who attended and nothing was too much trouble for them. All the staff were amazing and helped make the day stress fee. Thank you for everything.

As a former employee of this outdated establishment I would like to let the public know what really goes on behind the scenes at your “fabulous” wedding venue. If you want meat that’s already been cooked through for one wedding and then served a second time for yours be my guest. Don’t forget the veg platters that have the confetti picked out and you guessed it reused for the next wedding. The beer lines are NEVER cleaned through and the same could be said for the glass wash growing mold and stinks like a bog of eternal stench. Don’t forget the Wonderfull Sammie Taylor who spends half the time no where to be found because she’s too busy sleeping off the hangover from the night before. If you require disabled access and want to feel humiliated by having to go all the way round the outside of the hotel and downstairs to use the only disabled toilet in the cellar area then this place is perfect for you. Don’t worry about feeling lonely at night either because the cockroaches will keep you company. Enjoy your stay at the amazing up and coming Castle Hotel.

I got married on the 12th October and the castle hotel. The staff went above and beyond to make my day special! Leah was an absolute gem all throughout my planning, constantly reassuring me, and making sure all of the details were completely correct multiple times so things weren’t wrong on the day. The room decor and the ceremony were amazing. The staff couldn’t have made it any more perfect for us. Staff during the meal were amazing with my children interacting with them and making sure they were ok. Sammy and Sean made my day run very smoothly, making sure I was happy with everything, making sure everything was on time and kept consulting me with what was happening next, as someone with autism I found this very helpful. I would highly recommend the castle to anyone, the wedding package is very affordable and everything included is amazing! The bridal suit was very clean and very relaxing, Thank you to you all for making my wedding perfect x

Myself and my wife came to the castle hotel for a wedding and stayed the night. What can I say about the wedding except the service was outstanding. My wife's needs were catered for (she wanted no bone in her chicken) and Poppy, our server, was great. Check in was perfect with us able to get our room early. The room was dated but serviceable for our needs and the price point. The bed was really comfortable. 5 stars to the barstaff as they were run ragged and Shaun who kept the day running smooth. Breakfast was typical fare and what you need after a night out. Overall I really enjoyed my time there.
