La Dona Luz Inn an Historic B&B

La Dona Luz is wonderful! You feel like a welcomed guest and Paco, Mark, and Jenn are all great! My room, Santiago, was very large and had just about everything you could need: large tv, big tub, fridge, clean etc... They do bkfst on the weekends and both days were delicious and unique, always a hot entree and fresh fruit etc... Paco is very interesting and the object d'art and memorabilia and craftsmanship throughout the inn is something to behold. WIFI was sporadic, at least in my room, but downstairs was much more reliable. You definitely get your moneys worth staying here! The drive up from ABQ is GORGEOUS! Taos is mega charming and so are the people! Really nice people are found in Taos - not a lot of street signs, but really cool people. :)

This inn is in a great location, just a block from the plaza, with its own parking. Paco, the host, is delightful and has lots of history to share. The inn is full of art, from paintings to sculpture to the kitchen cabinets! I stayed in the Yellow Bird Deer suite on the first floor. The bed was huge, the sitting area nice, with doors to the patio. The room had a fridge and microwave. Breakfast was served only on Saturday and Sunday, as advertised, and Mark, the chef, made each one delicious. The only drawback was the very deep tub, which was tricky to get in and out of. There is a grab bar, of course. Altogether, a wonderful, 'artful', historic place to enjoy!

This magical, beautiful, historical inn was a perfect stop in Taos. We loved the artwork! Everywhere you look there is something to admire. Each room has an art theme and walking through the kitchen, breakfast areas and garden kept us in awe of Paco's place. Paco, himself, is a wealth of information about the inn's historyand places in Taos. Breakfast on the weekend was delicious! Quiet and clean rooms. Would love to return to spend more time at La Dona Luz Inn!

We stayed in the Rainbow room and it had a full kitchen,silverware,toaster coffe maker full sized refrigerator the works.Lots of outlets for your devices and a largetv in the bedroom.There is a private patio off the living room and your own hot tub on the roof for only the Rainbow room.The room is like a Southwestern art galley with numerous paintings and artifacts.The location is right accross from the Plaza and Kit Carsons house .There are many options to eat within walking distance from vegan to burgers and most everything in between.The Smiths grocery store is a quater mile away too for snacks and bevrages. Paco is a good host and can fill you in on the history of the Inn and it's worth talking with him.If you are mobility challenged know that there are stairs to go up to the bedroom and also the hot tub(we are two 70 year olds and we did it).

We loved our stay at this facility but forget got that the word “historic” also means old. We stayed in the Rainbow Room which is not just a room, it is more like an art gallery. We loved the room but we are 70 years old. When we booked the room we did not realize how many stairs would be involved. The bedroom is a sleeping loft and one must climb a steep set of stairs to get to the bathroom and bedroom. This room also comes with a rooftop deck and hot tub. However, one must climb a ladder in order to get to them. Also, parking is very limited and difficult to get in and out. During our stay they only offered breakfast on the weekends. The owner / operator, was very friendly and helpful and over all the facility was quaint and romantic but it is a “historic” building. I would strongly recommend this facility for younger couples looking for a romantic getaway in the very heart of Taos. It is conveniently located just across the street from the main plaza. There was a fantastic farmers market on Saturdays in the Plaza. I now know where all the hippies from the 60s and 70s went, they all became organic farmers in the Taos area. There was a tremendous variety of foods available which was great as the Rainbow Room comes with a full kitchen. The only thing I would recommend it that the advertising for this facility should include a message that people with mobility limitations might find it a bit of a challenge. Also, keep in mind that “historic” buildings always smell a bit musty. Otherwise, I loved it and would give it five stars. All staff members with whom we interacted were friendly and helpful. I would like to thank them all for a great memory.

You can tell this place is a labor of love that gets more and more lovely each year. We loved our Yellow Bird Deer room. The bed was comfy, it was well-decorated, there was plenty of room, it was clean, and we were the only ones with access to a sweet courtyard. Also, the location is tops - walking distance to the plaza.
