What could have been an amazing review and great time in your hotel , it has turned into the worst. We are a foreign couple and booked our wedding here with great excitement but due to pandemic it could not go ahead, nobody fault. After miscommunication from the hotel where they hid our rights to cancel the wedding and get our deposit ,they really only offered a voucher we felt we were forced to accept so we could at least keep the money move it to a convenient day, but that was initially fine as we always had in mind to come back and celebrate when can do so properly, we were happy to wait. When we asked for extension of that date ,which was initially 6 months but we thought will be flexible depending on pandemic and availability (pandemic lasting 2 years really-globally) after those 6 months we were still on pandemic (end of 2020-21) , noting they were initially flexible and happy to keep the money due to the circumstances of course. But we then contact in advance the hotel and advise we cant still reorganised and travel so if we can decide on a later date moving that deposit, to our surprise we were SUDDENLY told is not possible to extend or chose other date anymore, without further advise so we use the money by August or we lose all. I understand they can not be flexible forever but we dont talk of a spa voucher/deposit, we talk of our wedding money that can not organsise abroad in 2 months really after world really start opening, regardless if hotel is operating, like many couples decided in waiting, we wanted our wedding with freedom no restrictions and with my full list of guests. Why they suddenly decided to close our deposit, I dont know, we only wanted an extended or new date never asked for more, and dont think it cost anything to the hotel as we were going to be returning guest! We live abroad and have several members from different countries, and family with some health conditions that could not travel or be there in our special day during pandemic (I will not risk it for them but want them there free and safe) Now pandemic has kind of "established" we are refused to keep/chose a date ,neither the money back. We feel betrayed and our money ripped by the hotel as firstly we were not informed of our options properly, but mostly we only consider fair to keep our money until new wedding date could be agreed, where we could celebrate freely and feeling safe, we could do our wedding and spend more money in the hotel and have a good time! we had all our intentions to go and use the money, but it seems suddenly keeping our deposit to a further date is costing a lot for the hotel??? it seems like it, I would not understand that. No really caring and flexible given the circumstances, for what meant to be a special day as a wedding in our situation it has turned and made us feel horrible, our excitement for wedding is just not there anymore.Very disappointed and feel cheated.
