We stayed for a week due to family illness. Val and the staff at the Aberdeen Arms Hotel couldn't have been more welcoming, flexible and friendly. Lovely tasty dinners and breakfasts, Orchard Pig cider on tap and an extensive gin menu - what's not to like! The bedrooms in this old hotel have been sympathetically renovated and decorated and are very clean. Comfy beds and power shower in the ensuite bathroom. Tarves is a lovely village. The parking is in the square opposite and is free.

Val and her Staff are amazing. Friendly and accommodating, the rooms are great, warm and comfortable, food is amazing and plentiful. I know it's taken 8 months to write a review but time flies! I had my 50th Birthday at the hotel with my Family and our dogs. This was our second visit to the hotel and it's not going to be our last either, we will be back. It feels like home to this Quine! Thank you All.

We stayed for a night here while visiting a relative in Inverurie. Our expectations were not high and we had not read any reviews, just needing a place to sleep for the night. Very pleasantly surprised to find a lovely building, friendly staff and a more than adequate room with comfortable beds. Not to mention a great night’s sleep topped off with a fantastic Scottish breakfast. When we next visit Scotland and Inverurie, there is a strong chance that we will stay here again. Our only regret is that we dined in Inverurie rather than here, the dinner menu looked great

Excellent service. Really friendly and helpful hosts. Room was a good size. Shower excellent. Bar staff great. Food really good too. The review wants more words but it's hard to say anything but that it was an excellent stay and they were very welcoming.

This is a pub with food and some bedrooms. Staff all very friendly and helpful. We ate there in the evening and it was good with good atmosphere. It's probably the only place in Tarves and the public bar is very popular with the blokes in the evening. Anne liked it all but I found the room (No 2) too small. e.g. One side of the double bed was up against the wall, no table in the room.

Stayed a couple of nights when attending a family funeral. Function hall, restaurant and bar excellent. Love to see this cosy bar supported so well by the local residents. Incredible log burner in the bar which kept us super warm in what was a very cold snap with lots of snow. Breakfast was fine as was the evening meals. Rooms were small but adequate with good showers. .

Stayed for one night only but if we'd known how lovely the pub and the area were, we'd have stayed longer. Our room was spotless, light and bright with a quaint view of the village from the window. The bed was super comfortable. A great vibe in the bar and restaurant, staff were wonderful and the meal of haddock and chips, was to die for! I think kudos to Val and son!

despite informing the hotel that we would be arriving mid afternoon we arrived to find the place closed and locked up ,after a frustrating 10 minutes of headscratching a local got hold of someone to let us in, thankfully we didnt have much luggage as the room we were in was very very small. we didnt require much breakfast in the morning but what we did have was nice enough. overall i would not recommend a stay here

Onernight stay as part of an ancestry tour in the area, so chosen for its historic character. Lovely fresh, clean room- I had a single which was very roomy with a lovely bathroom. Great pub food- we had an evening meal and fabulous breakfast. And a very warm welcome. A very pretty historic village for a nice walk too.
