風景優美，兩位老夫妻經營四十年的旅館，充滿了藝術和家庭氣息，兩衹雙胞胎的狗狗活力滿滿。美中不足的是早餐八點半定時開始，八點會提前用意大利歌劇喚醒…喜歡晚起和社恐的慎選。不過，和來自世界各國的遊客同桌用餐其實也是很有意思的體驗。

We had a wonderful stay at Lake Taupo Lodge in February 2025. Rooms were large and had refrigerator and coffee. Views from the room and outside patio were incredible. Lovely grounds and breakfast to order. They have a lovely happy hour each day with complimentary appetizer bite and a glass of wine. I think the best thing was Gary and the staff. So helpful with tourist "to dos" and recommendations for restaurants in town. It is about 15 minutes from town and sits high up above the lake.

TripAdvisor I have never written one of these before but if I could go back I wish I could be a little better informed. I unfortunately cannot recommend this property at this price point. It is clean, but very outdated (most importantly, the appliances (bathroom/TV) are from the 70s. Our biggest issue with the very pricey stay, was that breakfast is only offered from 730-830a with extreme pushback when sharing we were going to leave early and miss it for our plans for the day. We booked this stay as part of our honeymoon (transparently, the priciest stay of our trip) and this just is not at all 5-star. The staff is somewhat overbearing when it comes to attending breakfast and evening drinks— additionally you have to sit at a large table with other guests for breakfast, no privacy or intimacy. I could recommend it for half the cost, but simply is not worth the ＞1k a night price point.

We stayed for 2 nights. You certainly can’t beat the view of the lake! Lovely gardens and our room had a patio and views over the lake. Chris, the chef, prepared some wonderful canapés and wine for us around 6.30pm This is an easy drive into town, although on the edge of Taupo, so either drive or take an Uber. Amenities were very good. Plentiful supply of towels and a lovely big bathroom and storage/hanging area. Great car parking

We have spent here a great time and enjoyed our stay from the first minute. Comfortable bed and room with view over the garden to the lake. Nice Apero with a glass of wine to start the evening and perfect breakfast to start into the day. And a wonderful team, always helpful and attentive.

This was the luxury stay planned as part of our three weeks travelling through New Zealand and we loved it! The most amazing views from the Lake View suite and all around the property, the fantastic made to order breakfasts and the super-helpful and knowledgeable Gary and Victoria made it a very special experience. We wouldn’t normally go for communal table dining but we actually really enjoyed getting to meet fellow guests from all over the world and hear their interesting stories. So, another new experience for us! Taxis to Taupo are easy and cheap and we also enjoyed Gary’s restaurant recommendations. A great base for exploring the area before coming back to relax in the peace and quiet of this beautiful home. Thank you to Gary and the team for a wonderful stay.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Lake Taupo. Gary and the rest of his team were very welcoming. The views were fabulous and the food was delicious. Gary made a particular effort to bring the various guests together for meals, which added to the hospitality and comradery of the place.

We had an amzing time at the Lake Taupo Lodge. The room and the gardens were fabulous and Gary and the team made you feel like you were one of the family. The breakfast was personalized and truly delicious with many options and wine and canapes were so nice to enjoy before heading out to dinner in town. A great experience overall.

This hotel is situated in a world of its own far from the madding crowd. The experience reminded us of a skiing trip in France where we met different fellow lodgers every morning over breakfast. All the suites are unique and well-equipped offering all the modern comforts of an international 5 star hotel. We particularly enjoyed the view over the garden with Taupo Lake in the distance when we wake up. Luckily we arrived at a time when we can enjoy fresh cool air by opening the doors and windows leading to the balcony. Our host Gary is a world traveller and his family and staff looked after us throughout our 3 day stay, altogether a very unique and pleasant experience in an otherwise dull locale!
