Comfort Inn & Suites Tavares North

The hotel was in a good location that met our needs. The breakfast served was good and staffed. The room was clean but smelled musty. Refrigerator did not work. Bathroom finishes were sloppy, caulking. Room was quiet.

Wonderful location, friendly staff. Comfortable bed, however overall smell of room should be cleaner/fresher.

Room had a roach in it & the smell was awful down the hall to the restrooms on bottom floor. Bfast was mediocre. Not sure I'll stay here again

The lobby is decent but as soon as you get off of the elevator and walk into the hallways, it smells like mold or old carpets. The rooms smell moldy too. The carpet doesn’t seem like it’s ever been vacuumed. Tv is old and channels are so limited. No kids shows. Nothing seems to have been updated in a while. Just save your money and go stay somewhere in Orlando because you will not get what your money’s worth around this location.

Stayed here after having issues with another chain in Mount Dora. The staff here is so very friendly and when a frazzled 76 year old woman walked in the wonderful lady behind the desk was just so sweet and kind. I gave her my name and she quickly had my room keys ready to go. The room was so clean and the bed comfortable. My husband and I had room to move around and settled in nicely before having to go out again. The bathroom was also clean and had everything we needed. The next day I used the ironing board and iron to press my clothes for the wedding we were attending. Our breakfast that morning was hot and with fried potatoes and eggs and sausage. Coffee was also very good. Our 2 night stay was very nice and everyone including other patrons were friendly and easy to talk to. Even though they are a green hotel, they did provide clean towels for the days we were there. Something I really like. I do recommend this hotel. It's convenient to the local area and only a few extra minutes from where the wedding was that we atteneded. A hotel can't go wrong with excellent staff

Upon check in I was told by the clerk that there would be a $100.00 deposit placed on my Credit Card for incidentals...not sure what that mean sense there is nothing to buy there - such as food, toiletries, etc,. Everything is in vending machines. I hate hotels that due this, because sometimes, more often than none - the deposit is never returned to your Credit Card account. That's my issue. I was told it would take two - to three business days for the deposit to be credited back to my account. It's been three business days and it still shows on my banking account that the money is still charged on my card. I have stayed in several hotels - nicer that the Comfort Inn & Suites in Tavares, Fl. If there was a hold or deposit placed on my card it was released the moment I checked out. I usually stay in Marriott Bonvoy hotels and I "never" get a hold placed on my Credit Card. The only reason I choose Comfort Inn - it was a last minute reservation. NEVER again will I stay at any Comfort Inn & Suites!!!

Plenty of parking, friendly staff, clean room, very firm bed, and although we did not eat breakfast it smelled great. This was our send time staying here. The first time the people in our neighboring room had a late night bridal party which was noisy. After listening to the noise for approx an hour we tried calling the front desk to ask the room to quiet down, it was midnight. The staff did not answer the phone so I went downstairs to the front desk. They were friendly and asked the room to quiet down. We got to sleep around 1am. On our most recent visit, visit #2, the place was quiet and no issues. Until about 1:15am and the fire alarm went off inside the building. Thankfully everything was okay but we did not get back to sleep until 2am. I’m not saying we would not stay here again but it will not be our first choice.

Looking for a negative and I can not find one. Staff was great, breakfast was better than most Comfort Inn's, room was clean, hotel was clean. Kudos to the management for being conscientious concerning hotel guest satisfaction and preventing issues.
