One Drake Road, Tavistock, Devon

Wonderful hidden gem. We stayed for 1 night for my best friend’s and partners birthday. Everything we needed was in here, down to the little touches to make our stay perfect. Towels were warm, milk and teas etc on arrival. Candles lit, music on. The vibe was insane. The price was perfect. Very accommodating the owners allowing us early check in at short notice for a small fee which was worth it. It really was incredible. Bedding soft and beds comfortable. Absoutley wonderful! This review is one of only a handful I have ever done. Which tells you I am saving reviews for only the exceptional. This place ticks all the boxes. I came for one night with my Daughter and we loved every second of the stay. It was better than described inside and that doesn't happen often. The hosts were absolutely wonderful. Extremely friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. and their interior design skills need more awards. It was warm and cosy. The bed was heated. The place smelled incredible as soon as we walked in. Location is amazing. Tavistock is a lovely town, anything you want from Dartmoor is nearby. The water was hot. The outside areas are peaceful. I mean it was impeccable. Seriously, not only will I be back, but I will aim to stay here on every visit to Dartmoor in the future. I literally feel no need to book anywhere else. I even misread the child age limit and I do recommend calling ahead if you have young family. I felt I was going to cause upset and actually Charlotte was given a beautiful little toy to take with her, which she loves and was made to feel like the most welcome guest. The cherry on the top for her after a stay she will remember forever. This is a 10/10 apartment.

We recently stayed at One Drake Road hosted by the lovely and very hospitable couple Jack and Iain. We booked the basement apartment as we are Mom and daughter travelling but we like our own rooms. The apartment has a communal area with kitchenette and shared bathroom and a little entertainment are and then two bedrooms both huge and uniquely decorated and utterly charming with so much decor to look, it really reflects Iain and Jacks warm personalities. Breakfast is hosted in the main guest house and is very relaxed and simple which was more than enough for us each day. There is no parking but there are several car parks nearby. We parked at a friend's house so for us was not an issue really. As hosts I can't say enough nice things about Iain and Jack and of course Gracie the dog who is a lovely natured doggy. Tavistock itself is lovely and you can walk everywhere. We will definitely be going back!

Jack is an amazing host, very welcoming. My en suite bedroom was unique - beautifully designed, lots of little touches like local recommendations, neal’s yard toiletries. Breakfast - which is at additional cost - was so lovely. My husband is coming back for a visit and I’m booking for stay in October. Who needs boring and bland hotel - stay here, you’ll be supporting a small business that puts its heart snd soul into everything they do. And boy, do they do it well. Well done!

Wow, what place. This is a truly welcoming place. Lovely decor throughout with the most wonderful soaps, shampoos and lotions placed beautifully in our ensuite. Had a good nights sleep on a cosy bed. Drake's Road is easily located to explore Tavistock with it's independent shops, market and eateries.

Loved this place and really enjoyed our stay. decor is lovely and rooms are so cute and relaxing. It's super clean, and we had a great nights sleep. Location literally on the high Street, so we parked round the corner, and the owners were super friendly and helpful.
